Poor delivery policiez

I am visiting Chicago from Oregon and got a delivery order. This was no problem. I tried to order a second time and received an error code and a phone number to call. At this point I did an order through Uber. Tried to order another delivery and got same error code and phone number. I did another uber order and then called them. After delivering the first order thier computer decided having a delivery address different from my bank/residence address was a problem. Clearly they should have contacted me if they suspected fraud. Crap policies.

I am devastated

I am devastated, have been ordering groceries for deliveries due to ankle surgery and subsequent problems. My most recent order had quite a few items from produce. My kitchen window now has 25+ black flies. I called the store and they suggested I call delivery company. IT IS THEIR FAULT… waited 22 minutes for connection . Eddie, the manager claimed it was Instacart, what a LIE. Be warned.

Price Gouging

Mariano's is attempting to offer better customer service on one hand, and the other, they are price gouging. Where as I have spent 400 a month on groceries, I ended up spending 650 and that is modest. So I checked previous purchases and in the last three months, I have spend an outrages amount on food. One month it was around 800. You don't really notice when you shop every two weeks. Now I am moving to once a month. I am also looking for a better store to shop at with lower prices and quality foods. I have never had a problem with the quality of Mariano's foods. I just cannot afford it. location, 2559 w 95th street.

Faking their way into getting you to create account

They initially indicate that they have inventory of a hard-to-find product. BUT, in order to get pricing, you have to create an account, confirm your email, log back in, RE-search for the item, only to find out they really don't have it and were just hunting for your account info all along. Garbage company. Garbage website.

This is a horrid retailer without scruples. They feature end-aisle specials without featuring a price. Only at check-out can one find the price. Tried signing up for their membership app. They require one to provide excessive personal information in order to get the "card" discount. Leading ingredients in their "homemade style chicken salad" includes sugar, hydrogenated corn syrup, modified food starch and nitrates, and more carbs then protein or fat. Odd, my mother never used these ingredients when making her homemade chicken salad. Marianos is an evil enterprise.

Done with Mariano’s on Clybourn!

I reflect upon when the store was first opened and what a treat it was to go there!
I have not been there for awhile and will never go back. There were very few shoppers. It looked dark, dirty and like it was going out of
business. The young ladies in the flower department were very helpful, however.
There were no checkout lines open on the
first floor. I was told by security I would have to return to the second floor to be checked out. I proceeded with self checkout with flimsy small plastic bags. I am a little older with a walking handicap. I had security watching me
pack up but was never offered any help at all.
They only questioned had I paid for the
bouquet, which ofcourse I had.
After getting home, and looking at some of the food items I got off the open bars, I am throwing it all out. Too scared to eat or serve my guests.
I hope, for their sake, they can turn it around. The competition is enormous and they absolutely bring nothing to the table that would make me want to return!

The Bronzeville Marianos store is mice infested. I was in the store yesterday and a mouse ran across the floor from the sushi bar to the hot bar. This is not the 1st time I’ve seen a mouse in the store. Whenever I see one I get the hell out of there. Hopefully this will be cleared up ASAP!

Frankfort store is dirty

Frankfort store is dirty, the employees are not trained properly, and worse: the check out. Only 2 lanes open with cashiers, the rest are self check. Dozens of people backed up down the aisles waiting. Just awful. Every time I end up there, I curse myself.

I hope this letter finds you well

I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to express my deep disappointment with the experience I had during my visit to the Mariano's bakery department in Orland Park, IL, on August 3, 2023.

As I waited at the bakery counter, I observed three employees engaged in a conversation while seemingly ignoring my presence. Despite making eye contact and trying to seek assistance, no one came forward to attend to my needs. It was a disheartening experience, as I had hoped for a warm and welcoming atmosphere in your store.

After growing increasingly frustrated, I decided to walk to them and inquire about placing an order for a cake. Before I could
Ask or answer any questions, I was told that I would have to wait for two days to have my order fulfilled. This lack of staff availability and the response provided were both unexpected and inconvenient.

Now To explore alternative options, I inquired about purchasing a pre-made cake. However, I was informed that no writers were available and I would have to return the next day. All of this after I stood there waiting for assistance. This added to my disappointment and left me feeling unappreciated as a customer.

As a loyal patron of Mariano's, this experience was quite disheartening and contrary to the high standard of service I have come to expect from your brand. I believe in providing constructive feedback, and I hope my input will be taken seriously to improve the bakery department's operations and customer service.

I sincerely request that you address these issues promptly to ensure that such incidents do not occur again in the future. A store's success is greatly reliant on its ability to provide exceptional customer service, and I trust that Mariano's takes this matter seriously.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I hope my feedback will be taken into consideration as you work to enhance the overall shopping experience at Mariano's.

Upset customer

I do not understand why over and over and over again prices of products are ringing up much higher than they should. This is unactable because some of the employees have not even apologized. I buy alot of kombuchas and have given your profit sales tons of money out of my own pocket each time. Since the Crystal Lake Il Marianos did not have the sales item flavor in stock that was $2.50 I asked if the manager could substitute the lower price for the few flavors I wanted. I was told no. I have worked many retail jobs with different companies and still currently do and I have always been told to try to satisfy the customer. I 'm led to believe that I have not been given that attitude or treatment at this store by some of the employees.

The worst experience I ever had a…

The worst experience I ever had a Mariano’s. I am use to a positive attitude from employees and this was far from it. I walked around grabbing my groceries items before my upcoming meeting to get it out the way. I should have waited to go to another store. When I got to the register, I’m thinking that it might be a good experience because she look like she was going above and beyond for the person in front of me that was elderly. As soon I stepped, I didn’t even receive a greeting at all, all she said was what bags you want?. I told the cashier that I had a coupon and she had the most nasty attitude. She responded by saying Well if you did it now then it won’t work and a loud tone. I was instantly thinking like what is her problem??. Then my link card was messed up and understood that she could not type it in. The way she communicated it to me was like I did not even deserve to be shopping at their establishment and that I should go back to my poor neighborhood. i told her that I didn’t have another card and she cancelled my transaction. I asked for a manager because I was just tired of all of the attitude that I was getting. She called for a manager while all the time joking with the bagger about the situation of not being able to type in my card number in front of other customers. I waited 5 minutes before being told to go to the service desk. I voiced my concerns and all he said was that he will talk to her. Definitely choose another establishment to shop at. the customer service is trash making it not even worth supporting any other Mariano’s. They don’t even have employees around asking people if they need help. Please do better with training your employees

Scam driver

It's a scam driver!
I was over charged & called customer service the first lady was no help. Called back the second lady was better & helpful & filed a scam report so the driver would NO longer deliver. I had 3 different prices, Mariano's had one amount, my email had another & my bank account was the highest & I got charged for items that I didn't even have on my list, i went to the store I pick & was told it wasn't there driver b/c that location doesn't have one,(then why the App didn't tell me, so in the garbage everything went at the store) scam drivers. Never again will I use home delivery from Mariano's.
Now this app won't let me use the right date, it keeps changing it. Saturday October 15th, 2022

Ritual Zero Proof at Mariano's

I'm so excited to see that Mariano's is now offering Ritual Zero Proof products!! It's so great to see the inclusion of non alcoholic sprits and brands. Ritual's zero-proof tequila is my absolute favorite non alcoholic spirit, I'm so glad that I can stock up when I'm grocery shopping at Mariano's!

Today I visited Mariano's in Arlington…

Today I visited Mariano's in Arlington Heights, IL on Golf Rd. First, I was only there to get a seeded watermelon and some seeded grapes. I had called prior to going and someone who worked in the produce dept told me on the phone that they had those items with seeds out on the shelf. NOT!!!! Secondly, I noticed that they had a fresh juice area, I thought no seeded fruits I'll get me fresh juice. I ordered a Geen Detox smoothie/juice. Anyway, long story short the young Indian lady that was servicing me made the juice and she filled the cup up as much as possible and there was plenty left over. I said to her, "Can you put the remaining juice in a smaller cup, and I'll pay for it." She says very quickly, I'm not giving you that for free!" I proceeded to say, "I didn't ask for it for free I'm willing to pay for it instead of it going to waste." I believe she repeated that racist comment as though all black people want free handouts. I was applauded and pissed all at the same time. Prior to that, the spirit had me praying, Thank God because I could have become the typical angry black woman that most black women are labeled as, But again God!! She wasted nearly a half cup of fresh juice because she made too much. So wasteful was my thinking I could buy the extra instead of it going down the drain. Racist, Racist, Racist, yes I'm pulling that card because that's exactly what it was. There was a much better way of saying, sorry we just toss fresh juice down the sink! So disappointing on Mariano's part because they could at least put the juice in very small containers for their shoppers to enjoy instead of tossing fresh juice. But who am I but a Black woman shopping!! Back to that racist comment, I wish I knew her name. Thirdly, Dealing with the public, especially in a grocery store where only God knows who going to shop there you would think that Racist people would leave their Racist comments and attitudes at home. What a horrible experience for my first time shopping at such a well-known grocery store!!

Marianos has Achieved the Worst Grocery of Chicagoland

Mariano's should just hire more people and dilute the stress on their overworked staff who are juggling multiple jobs. Also consider hiring competent chat/customer services. Attempt not to work with instacart since it is loaded with instacriminals, who in my experience, have ran off with my groceries, 2 out of 2 times I used them in 2021.

This company started off good enough to basically make Dominics go bankrupt and Jewel to overhaul their entire stock and stlye... then Marianos went down to 0 quality in 2021/2022 in every way relative to their comeptitors and I have not been back ever since. Happy to have boycotted the currently lowest standards of service and stock selections of Chicago.
