Zealots!

Racist, religious zealots. Don't waste your money on a membership as they are quick to ban you without refunding your money if you don't bow down to Hay Soos. Even though they create threads for atheists, they will gaslight you. LSA is a better alternative if you want real hair advice.

What a horrid forum!!

What a horrid forum!!! Not inclusive to other religions at all I joined up with an unfortunate name not knowing about it strongly being Christian only, it even says in the rules not to talk about 'witchcraft' and they expect you to pay $6 a year to be part of a pack of bigots, No thank you!

This is not the LHCF you heard of

I had previously been on this site for years mainly lurking and avoiding any drama. While I saw others get bullied for their beliefs and orientation I took the pluses and left the rest to the admin. Initially there had been lot of information and posts but that has dwindled in the last 2-3 years.

There is a heavy Christian slant to this site which I think is downplayed as it seems to permeate how people are reflected and dealt with.

After an upgrade a few months ago I couldn’t recover my paid for account. Beginning December I thought I should renew which I did for 2 years. I posted sporadically responding when I was tagged. Haven’t been back there until today when I found out I was banned.

There is as usual no way to reach anyone to find out what the reason for being banned is other than expressing frankly my experiences with products - it is supposed to be a hair forum.

I believe I may have triggered one of their bible thumping admins by not being Christian and so have now been banned.

A hidden treasure of Black Hair💖

A hidden treasure of the Black Hair Cult😉 A Priceless and invaluable vast source of kosher legit information. Sharing journey's, hints, tips, forums, discussions, product info and all things Black Hair with like minded Women of Colour, who know thier onions when it comes to growing and keeping this hair❤️😍💯 I'm now MBL💖👌🏽

Don't know why people are going on about it being racist - you have no idea what Black Hair means, the struggles, challenges and discrimination we have to overcome, and the sheer and utter lack of any kind of decent industry for this hair. It clearly says at the top of the landing page "... The world's No1 Haircare resource for Women of Colour". If you don't get why we need a site, how nice your privilege is for you.

I am mixed race and have never had anyone on the site be mean to me. That's utter trash talk. NB: Black Hair applies to the hair of ALL People of Colour - nothing makes me madder than seeing the words "Afro Hair"... AN AFRO IS A HAIR STYLE NOT A HAIR TYPE😡🤬

Betty Poo - I'm sooo glad you feel that way - now you know how every single Person of Colour feels on a daily basis😁 except for us, it's not constrained to a website - IT'S IN THE REAL WORLD, IN OUR FACES, BLATANTLY, UNASHAMEDLY. EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. WE. EXISIT.
Perhaps you too would feel bitter and resentful if you experienced this for centuries yet nobody did a damn thing to stop it? Perhaps you'd get it if every salon you went in, that didn't look like some tragic throwback from 1952, the Receptionist looked you up and down and then pronounced in a sarcastic tone "Ohhh we don't do YOUR sort of hair here" so loud Australia heard it, with a smirk on thier face, maybe then you'd understand our feelings!?

I love how quick white folks are to shout out "racist" yet turn a blind eye day after day when it doesn't apply to them. I guess it's the same bigoted mindset as the "We're not racist" crew. Hahaaa yeah you're not racist... Until your 18 year old Caucasian blonde daughter brings home a 19 year old 6ft black lad. Yeah, you see how "not racist" these people are then. Sanctimonious hypocrites😂

Horribly made forum

Horribly made forum. I had one question regarding hair and started to search for online communities. Found this forum. Registered there with email confirmation. First thing site requested me was to disable my adblocker. Usually I exit from sites that demand it, but this time I didn't exit since I wanted to ask my question there and disabled my adblocker. Then I decided to make a new thread with my question, but forum didn't allow me to do that because of my "insufficient privileges". Thought maybe I would at least post a reply in existing thread, but no, it didn't allow me either. What a stupid forum! What's the point of making it if you don't allow your new members to post. Then why the heck do I need registration on your forum? If I wanted just to read, I wouldn't need to register and would read without it. Lastly, I thought maybe I would at least put my frustration in my profile info, but I didn't even see my profile information to edit. This forum does everything to keep you muted and let you go someplace else. Eventually enabled my adblocker on their stupid forum and then signed out.

Long Hair Care Forum is an awesome and…

Long Hair Care Forum is an awesome and motivational site that provides information about hair care and beauty. Most of the information provided specifically addresses concerns that women of color have since we have different needs based on our hair texture. It is free to join and read the hair care and beauty forums. There is a higher level access which is only $6.50 of year that gives more access to other areas of the site. The moderators have always gotten back to me promptly whenever I've had an issue or concern. So paying the $6.50 per year is well worth it for all the support I have received over the years. I was able to grow my hair from ear length to mid back length over a 3 year period.

VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE & BUSINESS ETHICS

I've been a member of LHCF since 08' & while I had occasional site issues come up, it was nothing major TILL NOW. I just renewed my membership for 2012 a few weeks ago & when I logged in - ALL of my profile info is missing. My friends, my profile, all of my blog entries and threads - EVERYTHING! So, I opened a ticket using their odd contact system & no one got back to me. I checked the status of the ticket one week after filing it & noticed it was queued to an associate for review but no one got back to me so I filed another ticket, again - NO REPLY. Then suddenly, I received an e-mail from my Paypal account stating my membership fee was refunded but no additional info or reason was given. So I filed another (3rd) ticket & again NO reply! Now, I'm trying to file a BBB complaint re: this matter. I find it odd LHCF has no About or Contact information on the site such as where the main headquarters are located or history on how the site got started. I googled but all I found was the name of the web admin & Nick & apparently the site's owner is Bev but the only thing that came up for her was something about some lingerie pics or something, nothing relative to the site.. this is unprofessional, ridiculous and frustrating..
