Significant Red Flags – Be Extremely Careful
I was approached on Telegram by people claiming to represent Lonely Planet Attraction. They offered a scheme where I simply had to “visit attractions” online and get paid. Completing 29 attraction visits took around 5 minutes, and I received approximately £33, which I was able to withdraw successfully.
However, after the initial tasks, I was told that to continue earning unlimited income, I needed to purchase a subscription costing £50. They claimed I could earn around £2,500 per month, which I found difficult to believe given how little work was required.
Several things raised concerns for me:
* Communication was handled through multiple Telegram accounts acting as agents, support staff, and supposedly successful members.
* Other people in the group regularly encouraged participants to continue and invest more money.
* The earnings promised seemed unrealistic for the amount of work involved.
* The only deposit method offered was through TapTap/remittance services.
* I was instructed to send money to an individual in Kenya rather than to a clearly identifiable business account.
* When I questioned why I was sending money to a private individual instead of a company account, I did not receive a satisfactory explanation.
While I did receive my initial withdrawal, the overall setup displayed numerous warning signs commonly associated with task-based online earning schemes. I decided not to invest any further money.
My advice is to exercise extreme caution, conduct thorough research, and never deposit money you cannot afford to lose.
