Avoid at all costs
Avoid at all costs. They are a scam. We got them out for a blocked toilet and they told us that it was £149 for the call out and to unblock a small blockage. The guy hadn’t even been here for 5 seconds before he immediately said it’s a major blockage and so the cost would then be £149 for the call out fee plus £479 for each hour. This isn’t transparent at all with their fees. The guy then proceeded to unblock the toilet within 5 minutes and therefore we do not believe this was a major blockage but a ruse to get more money. Avoid!
I would really like to warn everyone…
I would really like to warn everyone about this company. We had a leaky boiler on Saturday the 7th and like an idiot I quickly chose the first one on Google’s “Boiler emergency” list, “London Gas Plumbers”. Adam on the phone gave me a call out quote of £149 but failed to mention the hourly rate for the repair of any “Difficult” work. When the engineer arrived and had a look he asked me to respond to an email before he would proceed. I was horrified when I read it, that the hourly rate was $479!! I called the office and bargained it down to £250 an hour but still that’s extortionate! So I agreed, thinking it would be done and dusted. The engineer had the cover off the boiler and saw right away it was the diverter valve, but faffed about emptying the radiator which I found out later from our normal engineer was just a ruse to buy more time! My son who attended said in no way did he work for an hour. Nonetheless I got charged for 2 hours because the van was parked for 1 ½ hours. The guy left saying he’d bring the part the next day assuring me that he would charge one more hour. But when he called the next morning saying he’d bring the part on Monday(!) he said there would another 2 hour charge to put the part in. I was freaking out by this time at his duplicity and the horrendous prices of this company so I finally told him to forget it. Our own plumber came on Tuesday with the part needed and installed it in half an hour for a fraction of the cost. Thank God for an honest tradesman. He said he couldn’t sleep at night if he conducted business like these con artists. I agree.

SCAMMERS do not use these people
SCAMMERS do not use these people, just wish I'd checked Trustpilot earlier! Called them for engineer to come out, told £110 for callout (reasonable for Friday night call out) Engineer came, dismantled boiler before email came through saying call out was £249 and working was £479 per hour and every part hour. I told him to leave it but having dismantled the boiler, water was pouring everywhere so couldn't be left, only way to stop it was to turn off the water to the flat. TOTAL SHARKS, DISHONEST AND IMMORAL. DO NOT USE THEM!!
Do not use these cowboys - should be shut down
I wish I'd checked on Trustpilot before getting these con-artists in to do some work. Firstly they let us down on dates twice in a row leaving us waiting over a week for the call out. Then, having quoted £150 they came in site and upped the figure to almost £1,000. When we refused they disconnected the gas meter leaving a leak and turned off all the power. Childish, dangerous and criminal. These guys should not be allowed to trade.
CROOKS
I don’t understand why this company hasn’t been stopped from working. How can this happen? They did nothing and MADE me pay them £3802. Every review is horrendous except for 2 I saw which were suspect. I feel so sorry for the poor people leaving these reviews and can imagine someone actually being bankrupted by these charlatans.
I needed a plumber for a basic job…DO NOT USE!
I needed a plumber for a basic job (toilet stopped flushing). I called felt quite confident was told it was £110 per hour. Upon arrival and starting I receive an email telling me the charge is £249 per hour + the £110 call out fee. At no point during my initial conversation was it mentioned that the charge would be £249 per hour. You are locked in by this stage because you need a functioning toilet and the plumber has already started. In the course of some investigation he broke a valve which needed fixing. What should have really been 2 hours works for such basic plumbing issues turned in to 6+!!!!
I have never experienced such unethical and morally bankrupt working practices. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
Avoid, scam company with over charge and they lock your electricity !
Avoid, scam company ! They are scammers with any job require for big money, absolute scammer, and they should be regulated and losing their license. They think they are smart in treating people. Absolute horrible in service ! And horrible company ! londongasplumbers co uk is horrible
They attended to unblock a bath and…
They attended to unblock a bath and ended up blocking the sink as well and charged a stupid amount. The causes flooding to the below apartment and have since refused to come and rectify their errors. I will strongly advise against its use
Worst company ever, do not trust
Worst company ever. Don’t bother with them. The Engeneer that was sent for the fallout quote guaranteed that the cost is gonna be £700 +materials. After calling them 4 times to send the written quote they still didn’t sent it, just informed me over the phone that the job is bigger that they thought and it’s gonna be £2000. It’s outrageous they waisted my time and made me wait for them. And you have to pay a call out fee for the fake quote. Please don’t use company.
Avoid at all costs
Terrible service. They didn't fix anything and tried to make the job look bigger than it was. Tried to charge 3 times what they quoted me and a much higher callout charge than they had quoted. Left a mess behind them and were 4 hours late. Avoid at all costs. Rude on the phone and wouldn't even provide a proper invoice.
Dishonest, and issues with the company
This company cheated me and many others out of money as part of a plumbing business. If you look up the company director on the Companies House website you will see a name. This person owns 8 other companies, most of which were set up within a month of each other. It has his year of birth. If you look up this individual in a wider search you will see what he is known for, with his profession, year of birth and name an exact match.
Oh how I wish I had read reviews for…
Oh how I wish I had read reviews for this dodgy company, and the other one they work under called South Star Plumbers. They offer one rate on the phone of £149 and then charge £379 on top of this when they turn up. They ask you to reply to an email agreeing the amount, and then you are stuck with no working boiler etc. Huge nonsense with 'Adam' on the phone who I see pulled a trick he has with others, saying 20% discount for NHS. 15 minutes of the hour you pay for was spent arguing about the fact the phone amount was not the amount they try to charge. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Even my bank alerted it as a scam account when I transferred money into them, as the names don't match up. Apparently they are not a resgistered company and are in dispute with dozens of people.
Total scam and dishonesty. No idea how those guys are still in the business! Avoid at all costs!
They also operate under Southstar Plumbers - avoid both!
I called on a Friday evening as my boiler broke down and asked how much would it cost for someone to come and repair it. I was told £149 all inclusive - the call out and repair - I asked 3 times to confirm that this was the price and the guy reassured me that this was the case. The guy was supposed to come at 8 p.m., he showed up at 11 p.m. After 3 minutes of looking at my boiler said that I have to pay £500 plus the £149 for the call out cause supposedly my boiler required some very expensive parts and very complicated installation. And they wanted the payout upfront which is the first time I came across something like this but later I realised why. The parts where 2 tiny pieces of plastic and the 'very complicated' installation took the guy literally 3 minutes! Absolute robbery and such a dishonestly I'm still boiling with anger.
Leaking sink and and loose tap-3.5K??
Leaking sink and and loose tap. Billing experience as other reviewers.. Brace yourself. 3.5K! Yes, that was the bill sent to me. It was on a btl property and I was the other side of the country. I called this company because the tenants called saying there was a leak. I was expecting a few hundred quid max. I nearly had a heart attack when I was sent the invoice. I have since conferred with other plumbers and googled standard rates. This lot are plain crooks preying on the Christmas/New year period and emergencies. I have been charged at least 10 times what I ought to have been charged. Work seems OK as far as I know but surely this sort of thing is simple bread and butter for a plumber? If you want to blow your child's inheritance for a simple plumbing problem go ahead. How they have the nerve to charge people these prices I don't Know. I understand why they do not give you an invoice of hourly rate (400 quid) until after the work has started! (Parts cost 300 quid apparently)! Then proper bill once completed.
It will be an extremely cold day in hell if I ever use this company again. Turns out the CEO is a confirmed crook. Kazi Numur Rahman.... Look him up!
Inefficient, scam
Inefficient in fixing boiler
Super efficient in scamming
NEVER USE THIS COMPANY!!!!
NEVER USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!
- They are a complete rip off
- What they did do was extremely poor
- They don't explain their pricing properly
- They have used my tenants number to send her inappropriate messages in the middle of the night. This is a breach in GDPR rules on how they use personal date.
- They broke a mirror and didn't tell me
I would discourage anyone from using them!
DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES USE THIS…
DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES USE THIS COMPANY
they charge a fortune to do no work and make you pay on the spot
I’m seeking legal action against them and I advice anyone else who had dealings with them to do the same
SCAM
SCAM. Avoid at all costs. I was charged an eye-watering £918 for a mid-afternoon call out to replace a simple part. They cunningly hide costs in their pricing materials. If you try and negotiate a reasonable fee, the company threatens to take you to court.
VERY unhelpful once they had my money
VERY unhelpful once they had my money
While someone did actually turn up to do the work, the operation feels over-priced and all other aspects of their service are extremely poor and feel very disingenuous.
I called them out for an emergency. They did the work and throughout, they put a lot of pressure on me to pay massive interim invoices - I have never paid that hourly rate (between £365 and £389 per hour) for a plumber. Since the plumber was in my flat which was flooded, I didn't feel I had a choice.
During the clean-up work, I discovered I needed them to re-invoice for insurance purposes and break down the invoices differently. Subsequently, I have even sent them the exact invoices I need using their own information so all they need to do is copy it out and put it on their letterhead. Considering how fast they managed to invoice me during the day the work was happening, I cannot imagine this would be difficult for them.
It was a perfectly reasonable and above-board request but to date, I have not received what I need and am out of pocket and cannot make my insurance claim.
Their office keep fobbing me off, saying they are busy or that the re-issued invoices will come 'tomorrow' (which they don't) or to talk with the plumber (who then tells me to talk to his office etc). On the day, they made time to stop the plumber working so he could join in putting pressure on me to make interim payments as well as calling me and emailing me themselves to do so.
Now that they have my money, they claim they are too busy and continue to fob me off in various ways. I think my request is simple and reasonable and that their their lack of service and excuses are implausible and very unreasonable.
