Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 88 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Customers frequently complained about the chaotic traffic, confusing parking situations, and expensive drop-off fees that made arrivals frustrating. People also reported unhelpful service, excessively long queues at security, and poor terminal facilities that caused severe delays. Though some reviewers were happy with the staff, they highlighted exceptionally kind service and efficient support provided to disabled passengers. Very disappointed with my recent experience. When going through security my Hugo Boss perfume was taken away after supposedly failing an explosives test. This made no sense as the exact same bottle is sold in the airport’s own duty free shop. It felt unfair and frustrating to lose a legitimate product I had purchased elsewhere.

£7 for up to 10 minutes of pick up/drop off is a rip off and should be illegal. My pick up lasted 3 minutes, yet they know people have no other options for elderly/persons with needs so take take advantage and make you pay. Sad.

Why do people hate LTN?

I have flown from Luton twice including today and both times I have had a good experience

Security was busy and the queue looked really long but we were through within 15 minutes which I think is more than reasonable.

The drop off is £7 which for the convenience of location I found again really useful, mid stay is free drop off but a little walk to terminal.

Moving through departures was easy and well signposted. I’m unsure why LTN gets a bad rep as an airport - A little perspective and understanding that travelling includes a little queuing would help but people expect to walk right through a business that handles tens of thousands of people a day

Definitely the worst airport in the UK. Maybe in the world.

There is no reliable public transport to the airport so the only option is to drive a d park there. The mid stay car park is a complete mess, it's a good 20 minute walk from the terminal depending on where you are parked, the surface is gravel, spaces are not marked out and the one way system directs you back out onto the road. Absolute chaos of cars trying to find a space and getting stuck.

I usually get through security in a reasonable time but almost always get my bag inspected which indicates their scanners are probably not working properly,
staff who search the bags seem to hate their job (don't blame them).

Went to use the toilet and over half of them were broken or being cleaned causing long queues, the ones that were open stank.

Nowhere near enough seating, all the space is used up with pointless shops selling crap nobody needs and are always empty.

Departure gates are over the place and nowhere to sit while waiting.

I know they have done some renovations but that's not to improve passenger experience, merely to add places where they can spend their money.

Nowhere to charge your phone, Wi-Fi never works, nothing in the way of entertainment.

Lounges are worse than the dodgiest Weatherspoons but with even worse food.

Don't even get me started on the cost of the pickup and drop off!!

How this place has a license to operate I'll never know.

The worst airport ever

The worst airport ever. Have not been there for nearly a year but got two tickets for pick up & drop off where there is no signs visible at all. No barriers anymore to get more money and issue more tickets. Would advise to make info how to pay more clear & more visible for customers who are already paying a lot for plane tickets. How helpful considering nowadays expensive living costs we need more pick up zone tickets. Keep issuing! Will avoid this rip off place always!

Avoid flying to Luton

I never had problems flying from Luton but this morning flying in was the worst and disgusting experience of entire my life!
I had paid 16£ ETA which let me stay and travel via UK a two years and I am EU citizen but airport security passport desk nr.8 made me check up like they are looking at some criminal. They asked translate my boarding pass, they investigated me shameless, they checked my mobile files, they spoken to me as if I were an escaped slave from the British masters couple centuries ago!

Quiet room and kids play zone at the same place

All in all an acceptable airport in my opinion. Bathrooms clean, charging points available, variety of stores and restaurants, strong wifi. I was also super happy finding a sign that indicates that they have a quiet room as I prefer quiet places to read, etc. But the problem is, they created a room which is the dedicated quiet room and also the kids play zone which is ridiculous as kids will not stay quiet so the whole quiet room idea is ruined. And also from the kid’s POV in reality their play zone is one dodgy airplane cardboard cutout with a few moving parts and a scale for their height.

Pick up and drop off an absolute joke

Pick up and drop off an absolute joke! Charging £5 for 5 minutes, barely time to get bags out of car, let alone say goodbye properly. No way to pay at the time! Would have done so if there was the option. Have to remember to do it online after the event. Hands up, I did forget, not surprising after a 2.5 hour journey home. Got a snotty parking fine in the post dated 21.8.25, took til 29.8.25 to arrive. Only have 14 days to pay the £25 charge to avoid it going up to £95. Fine letter already took 8 days to arrive though. If you’re going to charge £5 for 5 mins parking set up a facility to do it at the time of parking. Money grabbing ar£eholes 🤬

Travel with kitchen gloves and sanitizer!

Flight delayed by two hours. Not airport fault. Found some space to sit. Had to clear table. Space around us was not cleared or cleaning in the 2 hour wait.

When kettled into departure gate had to wait on staircase no doors open to give us air. Staff oblivious of the situation.

On return flight doors to terminal locked could not get in. Had to call down the line to get a member of staff to attend.

This is an awful start and end to any trip. As others have said the drop off and collection is chaotic.

Why isn’t the train from Parkway free? This would help ease congestion.

Not fit for purpose.

The airport is not fit for purpose

The airport is not fit for purpose. Had to que up for the toilet 20 minutes, state of the toilets are disgusting, sanitary bins overflowing, toilet paper on the floor. The airport is so busy, minimal space and seating. Honestly not the start to my holiday I was expecting in the UK!

I trust someone is getting paid more than they are worth to facilitate this rip off system. You are what is wrong with Britain today

So many delays

So many delays! Delays with easyJet as the baggage belts weren’t working.
We were waiting over an hour to just drop off our bags off, was ridiculous!

No where in Luton airport supplied milk for me to fill my toddlers bottle up, not WHSmith, not boots or anywhere? No cartons of cows milk or anything and when we had delays I couldn’t be queuing in Costa when it was a last call on our gate.
LUTON NEED TO DO BETTER FOR TODDLER MUMS OUT THERE!
I was so ashamed by this, what do mums do when they need milk for their toddlers?
They also need to start doing baby and family queues for security, make it easier to navigate through!
Luton need to do better, not the best.

I didn’t realise in 2017 Luton Airport…

I didn’t realise in 2017 Luton Airport was voted the worse airport - I’m not surprised
There is 0 management in place, there unfortunately a lack of senior staff so the younger generation are responsible for doing ‘not very much’. Machines are there to help you check in faster? Whilst the staff stand around and make out they’re busy.
I nearly missed my flight as the machine didn’t work, I had less than 20 minutes to go through security so I asked a lady in the yellow Tshirt ‘We are here to help’ if I can go through as I was with a baby of 1 year old and was going to miss my flight. Her response - No, you can queue up and will make it.
Nice service.

Parking at Luton is the worst…

Parking at Luton is the worst experience ever…. The drop off area is temporary whilst repairs to the multi storey car park. You get 5minutes for £5, thereafter £1 per minute. Dropped a single passenger yesterday, had to wait for a car to move before being able to park, passenger retrieved bag from boot, quick hug and on our way. Had to stop at pedestrian crossing (red light), waited for green light before being able to exit. Went to pay online….. ended up 4minutes, so just within minimum payment….. phew.

Parking is a joke

Absulte chaos trying to get out of the drop off zone today at 13.30. No traffic control, only 1 staff in attendance shrugging his shoulders. Got there at 13.29, couldn't get out until 13.54, so now may have to pay a penalty charge! Chatted online, they fobbed me off with it's not under their control...but the airports. Absolutely ridiculous!
