Fast track security on Sunday may 17th was an absolute joke . Only 1 belt open which was so busy it came to a Complete standstill. And your staff need a lesson in customer experience. Just because... See more

Shame on you Luton Airport
Shame on you Luton Airport. 4am this morning and my neice had to walk from the pick up point to the terminal with a toddler, check in bag and two cabin bags as there was no bus after 15 minutes. She then arrives at check in only to be treated really badly by the Ryanair check in ground staff. Toddler, case, two bags and impatient and rude person shouting for her passport. Could you please be a bit more understanding of those travelling on their own with small children we only have one pair of hands. It's stressful enough. If check in staff can't be polite they shouldn't be customer facing
Incredible positive changes over the year of 2024
I have used this airport for 18 years now since arriving to England back in 2006, and my rating would never go above 3 stars. Especially after Brexit when things became tougher and longer and busier regarding passport checking and security queuing. However, turning 2024, whatever the airport management did worked perfectly fine. The queues disappeared, the waiting is no longer than any other airport, and the atmosphere has changed from overcrowded to natural, breathable. Many charging spots for electronic devices have been installed, barely any unnecessary unreasonable waiting, much better respectful approach from everyone (police and security staff were never to blame, they never disrespected me in any way since ever). Where appraisal is due one should give it and the Luton Airport management has made incredible positive changes over the year of 2024. Congratulations, 5 stars!
Slow…
Slow as anything.
Third world in comparison to Heathrow and gatwick
Low cost everything
Low cost everything. From being searched I guess 'at random' in a fairly humiliating way to the usual non chalance and snobby attitude of many store and airport staff..it leaves a lot to be desired. No proper places to sit. Very crowded.
Absolutely shockingly crap
Absolutely shockingly crap, due to runway issues the plane from Luton to Kerry was nearly2 hrs late meaning my flight from Kerry back to Luton was 2 hrs late leaving Kerry, then had to wait nearly 40 mins for baggage reclaim as they couldn’t decide what conveyor to use, due to this I missed busses to to get to nearest railway station to travel back to Cambridge. Had to wait an hour and qtr for a national express coach, so decided to get some food whilst waiting the prices of food are astronomical (bigger thieves than dick Turpin. The most disorganised dump I’ve flown from, Stansted and even Heathrow are far better to fly from.
Long hill exposed walk to mid stay carpark…
Finding it hard to comprehend what I just experienced landing into this airport. Flew in from Malaga and had to walk about 1 mile to the midstay car park. I cannot for the life of me understand how they think this is ok. I saw many older people in their 70’s and 80’s struggling up hills with luggage. Is this what the UK has become? Where do the taxes go!? Ill never fly from or to this airport ever again….
Literally ripping people off
Literally ripping people off, £75 to park my car for 4 hours £5 to drop off astronomically expensive food except in M&S which was the same as high st
Dirty 3rd world feel terminal
Just avoid it Heathrow and Birmingham are vastly better
Damages on my brand new car!
Avoid! Very bad experience here. I discovered damages to my brand new car when I booked Luton Airport Vauxhall Way Meet and Greet parking for 3 days and added gold car wash for a fee. Lots of scratches on the rear bumper and damaged rubber fittings on the front wind screen. I sent them proof of damages but they don’t want to be liable for it. I will never, ever trust them again with my car!!
Horrible dated and grubby
Horrible dated and grubby. Staff were rude and unhelpful. The only airport I've ever been to where you have to pay for a trolley. General unsafe feeling about the place. Extremely awkward drop off and pickup as you have to walk 15 minutes from the drop off to the actual airport. Everything is overpriced in the duty free.
One word: Chaos
We flew from Ludin to Prague this week. Unfortunately it did not got well. The first thing you should know is that due to (antiquated?) equipment, any bag with floppy, hanging straps must be checked as "oversize." We did not know this ahead and got on a long queue to check our bags.
It became clear after we got closer to the windows that we were not going to miss our flight. Some of the staff let us move ahead in the check in line, labeled our bags, the informed us about the issue with "oversized" bags. We were told to go to window 42. It was a mob scene there. We stood with a bunch of people until one man asked how this was going to work and how we would make our flight. The minutes were ticking and they told go to "oversize baggage" imagine pulling huge bags through the airport packed with other confused passangers. Over sized baggage queue was packed with at least 200-300 frustrated passengers. I went to the front and was told everyone ahead of me was trying to get to an earlier flight than us 😱.
Finally they told everyone with a 7am flight to move to the head of the line (as an aside, not everyone ahead of us move). We finally got to the belt for oversized. The belt could only accommodate 1 bag at a time. Once it fed through the tunnel another bag could be added. So inefficient!
We ran to security and the line was long to. We asked to move toward the front and another passenger let us go in front of him. My husband's bag got selected for a second screening. I ran ahead to the gate. The plane was about to leave. By some miracle they didn't leave. Though they kept telling me my choice was to travel without him.
We got on the plane! In the next few minutes at least 10 passengers, who were having the same problem arrived.
Upon the plane we worried that we would never see our bags again. No bag claim checks were given to us and with all chaos, we didn't ask.
By some miracle bags got to Prague, but we were happy that we put AirTags in them.
One star goes to the employees, who were polite and doing their best in an impossible situation. No stars for all the rest,
Shockingly poor,
Shockingly poor. Dropped off my daughter and her friends, reasonably okay to find the drop off point but bears no resemblance to their website. Would have loved to stay for up to an hour to buy a coffee before journey back home, but no real option. Was chaotic, and this is at 3am. Staff manning some points where they don’t need and people trying to park in what is literally a building site. No staff where they need to help people park their car, which was just stones and no markings, car in front of me tried a couple of places and couldn’t park as not enough space and insufficient lighting and no one to help, just ‘dummies’ stood around but they didn’t help anyone. I don’t think these people actually dummies, and they would appreciate helping more, it’s management that needs replacing, completely shocking. Replace the management. This should be a great gateway to the world and would have spent money here for drink and food before my journey home, instead M1 services for a coffee. Somehow their management has made it the worst airport have ever visited. Extremely disappointing is an understatement.
Disneyland is cheaper…whether you get…
Disneyland is cheaper…whether you get to and from there by car, train, coach or shuttle is an extortion…
August 2024
August 2024. Don’t take luggage for the hold since the conveyor belts don’t work resulting in hours of queueing trying to check in bags. Lots of people miss their flights. This is the airport, not airline problem. Advise that you take hand luggage only.
The car park is also a big mess after the fire. You have to walk for 15 mins to the pick up areas in the mid te car park.
Avoid this airport
Dismal
Overcrowded, rubbish everywhere, huge queues, not enough seats, toilets dirty and no soap, plus a dj making a racket - why? Probably the worst airport I’ve been to, and I include kandahar in that comparison.
Ridiculous
Ridiculous! Absolutely disgusting!
Passengers have to wait more than an hour to check in! Staff is shouting for people for flights!? What a joke? It’s a mess, no organisation at all! No time to eat between, very unpleasant
It’s a complete mess
It’s a complete mess! More than an hour for check in, not enough staff, awful experience. Very, very bad
Absolutely horrific
Absolutely horrific! Huge lines and wait at security and the staff working the scanners and luggage trays are beyond inncompetent. Arrived an hour and 45 before our flight and if not for the kindness of other passengers allowing us skip the queue we would have missed it. Only 2 body scanners were open and the man at one spent more time talking to his work colleague's and looking around him than working the scanners. The woman putting trays onto the belt was then piling them 3 abreast and picking them at random to go through, so even if you had got your tray first it was up to her when she decided to put them through( and she had no idea what she was doing and ecen less of am idea who had put theirs first) Hands down the worst airport and staff I've ever dealt with and will never ever travel through London luton again. Utter disgrace from start to finish.
Luton airport is going from bad to…
Luton airport is going from bad to worse. Huge congestion in security mostly because they are only operating one scanning belt per (very large ) queue. They have the capacity to accommodate many more people much more quickly but are not doing it. Inexplicable. The entire airport is grimey, grim and shockingly operated. Some staff are doing their best but most are dead behind the eyes. No respect for passengers at all. Disgusting.
get me out of here
Absolutely horrendous with hour long…
Absolutely horrendous with hour long queues both for security and for dropping off luggage, with people cutting in queues and nobody managing the process.
