This is a catch up from my last take back in November 2022 on my experience with Loftomattic, after some exchanges over a matter of weeks with Max who I have to say did pull out the stops eventually, I am please to say the ladder works well and really was simple to fit, once I had someone lift it into place for me.
I also purchased the material to form the hatch door as I was unable to find one on the internet that would have fitted into my particular opening.
The only comment I would make regarding the hatch material supplied would be that I doubt if it would meet fire rating requirements in certain circumstances and one may need to take that into consideration.

Fitted one of these for a customer of mine who was unable to use her loft space any more because of mobility issues. Had a slight issue with the ladder but no fault of the company, but absolutely fantastic customer service to sort out the problem.

Ladders are brilliant really easy to walk up and down they don’t feel like ladders and have good grip. There very well made and easy to install couldn’t be happier.
Delivery was quick.

Very efficient. I misplaced a part for the remote control unit. They sent it out to me next day. Service and product excellent

The product is great. We had a problem in parking the loft ladder fuller retracted so phoned Max who sent us a link to video which showed us exactly what to do.
( If we had read the installation instructions to the end it would have told us)

Good ladder, works really well, very easy to install took me about 3 hours in all for fitting, once it’s in its plug and play and easy to adjust

Emailed the team for some adjustments I needed. Was able to fix with the steps they provided. Very happy.

Bit of time to get through on phone but when i did problem resolved in under 5minutes.

Although we had a problem with a twisted belt, the product and customer service are second to none.

Max sorted the issue including a small adjustment to the belt tension. Thank you Max.

We highly recommend both the loft o matic and the company.

If you are reading this wondering whether to buy a Loftomatic, let me share my experiences.

I live in France and purchased my Loftomatic in 2018. I came across the product whilst looking for an affordable automatic loft ladder solution on-line. I could not find a great deal of third-party information about the Loftomatic, as I think the company was quite young at this time, but I did call and ended up speaking with Mick, the owner and creative force behind the product, who was more than happy to answer my questions.
Suitably reassured, I ordered the Loftomatic V1.

A couple of weeks later it arrived in France, well packaged in a cardboard crate but bearing the worrying signs of having been dropped during transit. On unpacking, my fears were confirmed as it had indeed been dropped and despite the solid construction of the Loftomatic, this drop had a distorted the metal frame which holds the ladder mechanism in place. Expecting much hassle, I called Tech Step and again spoke with Mick. We shared some photos of the damage and he offered me the choice of either replacing it at his cost, or explaining to me how I could bend it back into shape and offering me a large discount on what I paid. I chose the "bend and discount " option, and proceeded with the install. All went well, and despite the ladder not quite being true in its frame and descending a little skewiff, I was delighted with the functioning of the Loftomatic (which really is a revolution for giving easy loft access) and all was well until earlier this year (2022) when the ladder starting sticking part way up on its closing cycle.

I contacted Tech Step again, and once more I was able to talk directly with Mick, and over a period of days we spoke and exchanged emails, with him trying to help me fix my sticking ladder. Alas, this did not prove possible, and the conclusion was that a misalignment of the mechanism had led to unusual wear on the siding components and caused its early demise.

At this point, 4 years after purchasing my Loftomatic V1, with it having arrived damaged and having been offered the choice of replacement or discount, it would be fair to say that a I could not reasonably expect much of Tech Step....possibly a slight discount on a replacement model at best?
This is not what happened. Mick, in concluding that my Loftomatic Mk1 had failed due to an original factory misalignment, offered to send me, completely at his cost, a brand-new replacement Loftomatic V3. This duly arrived as promised a couple of weeks later here in France and has now been installed and is functioning beautifully. The V3 is, as was the V1, a lovely bit of engineering and makes you want to go up into the loft every day.

What more can I say, only thank you Mick, your product is a delight and your generosity in resolving my problems is unheard of.
Loftomatic deserves to be installed in every house....

An amazing product from an amazing company with amazing customer care.

Loftomattic have a great product and my experience of purchasing it and doing a DIY install went smoothly. Recently, I had to contact them for some support as the ladder wouldn't close completely. I phoned their contact number and spoke to an actual human being called Max, who sent me a video via WhatsApp showing me step by step how to re-program the ladder. Within a couple of minutes it was fixed. Highly recommended.

Not only is the product brilliant and very good value for money, but we received excellent after-sales service from Max. No hesitation in recommending.

Excellent product, original manual ladder installed by our builder was really poor quality. This system is ideal and effortless, making life much easier in getting access to the loft space.

I did a lot of research to find a suitable loft ladder. This is robust, easy to operate and a good price. A lot of others were either less robust or a lot more money. The treads are wider than those on others I saw-They’re very good for us oldies who would struggle with our footings on ladders with just foot rungs.
Thanks to Duncan who installed it. He worked very hard and we were very pleased with the installation.
We had one glitch. Next day, one of the ladder treads twisted out of line preventing it closing. This hasn’t reduced my review from a five star one though.
I contacted Loftomatic by e-mail the same day and had a reply within 10 mins saying they would replace it. The firm’s boss set off from Warwickshire at 6am the next day and was with us by 8am. When he came he said they’d only had the same problem once previously since 2018. I guess we were just unlucky.The new ladder section was installed within 20 mins and checked. It’s worked perfectly since. We’re delighted with it. I’ve judged Loftomatic not just on the quality of the product but also on their prompt response when something went wrong. Excellent all round.

I have had the Loftomattic for a couple of years now and it is the best investment I can remember, I had the hatch extended to get larger items in and out with a larger light weight loft hatch supplied via Max. A brilliant solution.
