DO NOT RECOMMEND

DO NOT RECOMMEND! This company apparently doesn't know that the reservation implies that we have booked a car and can get it when we arrive. As a result, we had to pay 3 times, because they told us that there were no free cars, even after we reserved it?? Terrible service and a lot of problems

Misleading Service - Reservation “didn’t exist”

My wife travelled to Mexico City on October 27. She received a car rental quote that same day and confirmed the reservation via WhatsApp the following day. However, when she arrived to pick up the car, she was told that no reservation existed.
It was Día de los Muertos, one of the busiest times of the year, and no other rental companies had cars available—except one that charged nearly three times more. Had she known the reservation wasn’t actually secured, she would have booked elsewhere in advance.
The Localiza staff on site simply said they couldn’t help without a reservation, despite the clear communication and confirmation over WhatsApp. Later, Localiza reached out to offer a “discount” on future rentals, but that does not make up for the stress, extra costs, and poor handling of the situation.
Completely unacceptable and very disappointing experience.

Terrible, Localiza in Mexico City’s airport is unreliable!

Llegamos al aeropuerto y pedimos una cotización directamente en la oficina (cuatro días antes de la fecha de la renta). Al día siguiente confirmamos que sí queríamos el auto, y nos aseguraron que todo estaba bien. Sin embargo, cuando fuimos a recoger el coche el día acordado, no tenían ninguna reservación registrada, no había autos disponibles y nadie nos ofreció ninguna solución ni alternativa.
Muy mala organización y cero apoyo al cliente. No recomendaría esta sucursal para nada.

Valor do seguro é ridículo

Valor do seguro é ridículo, mais que o valor do aluguel em si.
The insurance cost is ridiculous, more than the daily rental rate.

TOP 3 CAR RENTAL EXPERIENCES! MUITO BOM

I've rented hundreds of cars and this experience is in the top 3! The line was long upon being 10 minutes late to pick-up, but everything moved very fast for a great car to visit Ouro Preto. Pick up and drop off both very simple, fast and professional.

Fast, Reliable & Professional Service

My experience renting with Localiza was fantastic. The staff was professional, and the rental process was quick and smooth. The car (KWID ZEN 1.0) was clean, reliable, and fuel-efficient, making my trip worry-free. I was confident in my choice thanks to my previous positive experience back in 2015 at Rio de Janeiro airport. Everything—from pick-up to check-out—was handled with care. Highly recommended. Keep up the amazing job!

Great service from beginning to end

Great service from beginning to end. Helpful and kind employees. Great car quality. Quick and easy retrieval and car return. The shuttle service was also quick, comfortable and the employees also very helpful, special attention to Sr Selso who brough us from the headquarter in Fortaleza back to the airport.

All employees involved from start to end of the whole process were extremely helpful and kind. We have rented with Localiza twice already in Brazil and the experience in both occasions was exceptional.

Long wait to pick up ,2nd time had car…

Long wait to pick up ,2nd time had car trouble on road 2024 /2025, also I got a speeding ticket by 8:45 am ,but only picked up the car by 10:50🙈 on Feb,2024 ! ( 🇧🇷 ticket industry 🫣)! Must go into office ,wait 15 minutes or more to finish return even if everything have been charged yet to your credit card 👎 🙈! Than you get in the shuttle van and has to share the seat with a 45 pounds dog buffing your face 👎 ! Localiza is the cheap one like their cars conditions and service 👎 there are better options Alamo,Movida ,Hertz

Very dissatisfied customer

Definitely will NOT book at Colombia Pereira airport.
We arrived not knowing we had booked a manual transmission car. Apparently “intermediario” is common knowledge that it is a manual transmission. We payed extra to have 2 persons drive the car. After this fact, only one person knew how to drive transmission. The arrogance of the employee made it 10xs least pleasurable and not to mention paying $200+ USD for 3 days is way too expensive for a manual car!!! Will not book again.

I would not recommend anyone to rent a…

I would not recommend anyone to rent a car in Cabo! You have to purchase car insurance, so it ends up being more expensive than doing a round trip airport shuttle to the resort and using uber. The middle package that covers some car damages and theft is $43/day. Also, the driver must have a credit card placed under his/her name. You will be charged $8/day just for using someone else’s credit card since that person has to be listed as a driver. This car rental office is across from the airport, so you have to wait for someone to pick you up. Additionally, some of the roads have pot holes or puddles of water from the rain. I would suggest everyone to think twice before renting a car! I wished someone told me about this before my trip!

I reserved in Mexico City Ave. Patriotismo branch on 25 July, 2025 and they did not respect my confirmed reservation. NO APOLOGIE, NOT COMPENSATION, JUST DENIED THE CAR.

DO NOT USE LOCALIZA!

Terrible experience with Localiza. We discussed with the associates days before our trip that we would be arriving at 9pm and they ensure they would stay until 10pm so we could pick up our car. When we arrived at Localiza no one was there and they were closed for the night. We came back in the morning to get our car we already paid for and they told us they didn't have a car for us and couldn't return our money. We had to rent a car from another rental company and now fighting to get our $600 back. Both associates were rude and not helpful. Would not recommend to anyone.

Very bad service and attitude of the…

Very bad service and attitude of the attendants. In Medellín today, attendants told us to wait 5 minutes to have the car ready and we waited almost one hour the car due to unclear reasons! I rented hundred of car in my life and this has never happened!

MEXICO

MEXICO: I had additional car insurance via rental car. This should give total coverage. Nevertheless they said that this was not sufficient and forced me to take an additional one with them, for 500 EUR (this was even the cheapeast option, other option was 700 EUR). To compare the car rent which included already mandatory liability insurance was 650 EUR. I will not rent from Localiza again and will actively advise my friends and contacts to avoid booking with this company. A total scam
