Extremely poor signage/VERY expensive bar
Extremely poor signage, God knows how a person with sight issues would manage here.
Extremely overpriced drinks.
Not enough toilets. I queued for almost 10 mins, I was lucky that a lovely lady (a cleaner) came past and asked, “why are you all waiting here, there’s lots more loo’s up here”…..like I said, poor signage!!
Tiny leg-room.
£30!!! Yes!! £30 for a bottle of wine. They haven't even the decency to make the staff wear a mask when they “rob”you! At least D!ck Turpin did. And it wasn't even decent wine! Far too few seats in the Bar area and the “pre-paid” drinks service is awful, quite honestly, its dangerous! Your pre-paid for drinks are just left on a shelf……well, thats just a Rhohipnol fiends dream isn't it!
The concert we saw was super, but the venue is overpriced, over-hyped and I won’t be returning, it’s had it’s day
There are far better venues in Liverpool. Use them and let’s hope that the managers at the The Phil realise that they are being uber greedy and are vastly over-charging and this is actually putting people off attending this venue. It’s things like this, the greed, the extortionate prices that cause fabulous places like this to be demolished and forgotten. It’s a shame. Pure greed.
Shame on philharmonic
How can the Liverpool philharmonic justify £30 for a bottle of wine! It was organic!ok bigot was cheap with a big mark up! Give us a break!
It’s exploitation and not justified.I will do without next time. You can’t justify the price even the bar lad said it wasn’t worth it and it was vile
Amazing experience! But beware of leg room
The venue itself has character, drinks etc available to buy along with merch. We travelled from stoke to Liverpool to watch Twilight Live & it was great. The band were fab, the singer Daniel Conway had an amazing voice.
Staff were helpful pointing out guests seats. The only downfall unfortunately was the seating space for legroom. We struggled to sit comfortably. And quite a few guests were saying the same so I'd advise if your tall or in need of more leg room to book a seat which accommodates that. Everything else was thumbs up amazing.
It’s a wonderful life - not according to Liverpool event!
Travelled to Liverpool for the day from Buxton only to find that event was cancelled as we arrived 4mins prior to film starting. Technical difficulties quoted by staff. Made worse by still no refund and now on the 26th getting email ‘reminders’ for an event that was cancelled two days earlier?! Totally rubbish experience.
Cancelled at the last minute…
Travelled by train into Liverpool with my girlfriend specifically to watch Christmas eve 3pm showing of 'It's A Wonderful Life'. The showing was cancelled at 2:50pm due to "technical difficulties". Seems ridiculous and rather amateurish that they only realise the bloody thing's not working 10 minutes before show time. Very disappointing and the last time i book anything at this place

I went to see Rebecca Ferguson on 6th Dec and can only say I’ve never seen a worse show. Her voice is amazing but the show felt like it had been cobbled together. In the interval I could hear similar conversations going on all around me. As I expected, nobody demanded a return to the stage after the last song. It was a disappointment!!!

I pay for priority booking 24 hrs before tickets first go on general sale. Tickets for 'War of the Worlds' in 2026 went on priority booking sale at 12.00 hrs today and I got the notice email at 11.56 hrs. At 12.04 hrs, there were no stall or box tickets left at all and hardly any circle tickets. I do not believe they all sold out in 4 minutes. Its a fiddle, so what is the point of paying for priority booking?? disgusted!

An evening with Jimmy Anderson at the Royal Philharmonic Hall Liverpool Wednesday 29th October. Staff at the Phil were excellent. Rose was fantastic, and above all, Jimmy was brilliant. So nice to speak to a sports star (the day after being knighted) and he was generous with his time and patient with questions. A class act and well worth the 4 hour journey.
taking photos policy
Visited Wednesday 10th Sept 2025 to see the legend that is Engelbert Humperdinck. Absolutely without doubt fantastic. My criticism is some of the staff in the auditorium, who just before Engelbert entered the stage, walked quickly down the aisles saying photography was not allowed, obviously some people especially the ones out of earshot didn't hear this and I saw several people humiliated by being waved at and told off for taking photos. Why did they not announce this policy over the PA system before the start of the performances
Music Careers Event
Brilliant event with inspiring keynote speakers. Well organised, lots of helpful friendly staff. Really enjoyable and informative
Just got home from watching ‘A Portrait…
Just got home from watching ‘A Portrait of Liverpool’ at the Liverpool Philharmonic and all I can say is what a load of sh!te I’ve just been forced to sit through. I honestly can’t believe that documentary was sponsored by BMW Williams - have they even seen what their sponsorship paid for? I very much doubt it. I watch YouTube with my 6 year old granddaughter and thought I’d seen the worst - until I saw this. The first 10 minutes were extremely slow, which unfortunately carried on for the rest of it. The filmmaker could be constantly heard having a whispered conversation with someone behind the camera, especially during the many moments we were forced to sit watching a flock of seagulls standing doing nothing or the murky Mersey River flowing. They showed the very worst of every district of Liverpool, from run down buildings, decaying houses, dirty streets and unkempt shop fronts, as well as graffiti, people arguing and swearing at each other, a clip of just about every mosque meeting for prayers and singing, a homeless man stuffing himself with a burger and basically giving the general impression everyone in Liverpool either spends all day in a pub or tattoo parlour. Even the clips of people taking part in activities in Community Centres weren’t portrayed in the best light. Honestly, my 6 year old granddaughter could have put together a far better production. If I hadn’t been sat at the front I’d have walked out after enduring 10 whole minutes. It was dull, it was drab, it was miserable, it was slow and boring and it was put together by someone who obviously hates Liverpool - and very badly. It was the most painful 2 hours of my life that I feel was wasted. I counted the minutes on my watch until the end and have never felt such relief as when it was over

Just been to see the Simon and Garfunkel story. Absolutely brilliant. The talent of both singers and the backing musicians was just unbelievable. You really have to see them. One of the best tributes I've ever seen. Thanks to all the staff at the Philharmonic who made it possible. Loved it
Went to see Motel Sundown
Went to see Motel Sundown. Great band and lovely harmonies. The down side was having air conditioning on when it's 9°outside. We sat and froze all night. Why is this country so obsessed with air con ? We're not in the tropics!!
Extortionate prices
Went to see Leigh Francis last night, queued to get a drink before we went in, got double brandy and coke and double Bacardi and coke, absolute rubbish drinks not the real spirits, very poor quality , diet coke was out of a can and not the full can, £9 each drink, the bottle of whatever they use probably didn't even cost £9, don't mind paying for drinks when it's the proper stuff.
So dissapointed
We really wanted to attend the concert tonight 27/03/2024 that we booked in November and paid over £70 for. However, due to Covid, we are unable to attend.
Despite contacting the Philharmonic on more than one occasion, I was advised that there was no refund or options available, unless its a sell out, which it is not, they wont offer even a credit note or partial refund. I realize this is stated in their terms and conditions. However, even in unforeseen circumstances, they make no allowances. Yet, I bet they were quick to cancel tickets during the height of the pandemic. So be careful if you book and can not attend as you will be well out of pocket, while they are quids in.
Refused refund after catching Covid 19
My wife booked tickets for me as a Xmas present to watch Jeff sterling on the 22nd January 2024. On the 18th January I caught Covid 19 so was unable to make it to the show. My wife contacted The Philharmonic immediately and provided a photo of the test but rather than showing compassion and understanding they refused to offer a refund saying they needed a doctors letter of confirmation, although I had contacted my doctors by telephone they did not see me in person and just provided a NHS number if symptoms got worse and advised I kept self isolate for 5 days. I think the philharmonic have shown no common sense or compassion towards us both. I have a conscience and did not attend the show to protect others. I will never book or attend any shows at the philharmonic ever again.
Card Only
The card only payment at the bar is discrimination to the people who want to pay cash. The Comedy Laughterhouse Stand Up Show it's self i thought was very poor and wasn't impressed at all.
Sort out your bar rules
My wife and I came to watch Rebecca Ferguson but the evening was spoilt for a lot of people by your drinking policy.
There was a lot of people drunk and disruptive because your bar only shuts when the main act came on, in fact quite a few people stayed in the bar until Rebecca came on!
It’s just too long, the bar should be shut or the support act gets missed by people getting drunk. Then they come in while the main act comes on, some people couldn’t even stand up they were that far gone and never shut up talking rubbish to each other behind and in front of us.
The few spoil it for everyone and it’s your issue to sort! Shut the bar during both acts and only open it again when there is an interval, it could have been such a good night otherwise, shame!!
This is a great venue and Rebecca was amazing. It’s a very well organised venue and it’s a lovely building.
Very helpful
Called the box office as we couldn't locate tickets for an upcoming show - they very helpfully went through all the details to help us locate them in an email spam box. Recommended, very friendly and helpful.
