Order confirmed and item “reserved,” then cancelled without notice
I ordered a pair of Nike Killshot 2 sneakers from Little Burgundy. The day after placing the order, I contacted customer service to make sure everything was fine. I was told that my order had been accepted, that the shoes in my size had been reserved, and that I simply needed to wait for the shipping confirmation email.
After almost three business days with no further updates, I contacted customer service again. Only then was I told that the order had been cancelled because the item was out of stock.
Inventory errors can happen, but confirming that an item has been reserved when it is actually unavailable is unacceptable. I also received no cancellation notice and had to contact customer service myself to find out what had happened.
I wasted several days when I could have purchased the shoes elsewhere. This experience has seriously damaged my confidence in Little Burgundy, and I do not plan to order from them again.
