Nightmare

Need this loan and it was quick and easy to get. Trying to pay back the loan early is another story. I paid my loan back in full a couple of months ago, in full, which save interest on my part and got a closing letter confirmation via email. However, the payments are still coming out and you can’t cancel it because it’s a card payment not a direct debit. Wish I never borrowed off them, fino, oakbrook whoever they hide behind. Impossible to contact direct. Avoid like the plague.

Here’s their system

Here’s their system. I took a loan, paid it back as per schedule. I took another one and paid it back EARLY. They now email me weekly inviting me to apply for another and decline it every time. Customer service at its best!!!!
Don’t bother using them they don’t give a S*** about customer service despite the extortionate interest rate

Constant unsolicited Emails!

Despite my having informed this company,on multiple occasions, that I do not wish to receive any correspondence regarding a loan application, they insist on constantly sending me emails offering a “new product”. I AM NOT INTERESTED!!

Absolute con men

Absolute con men. When asked for payment holidays been told they don't do that, which caused my credit rating to tank (other creditors like credit card companies offer that so it's not that they can't, they don't want). Afterwards sold my debt to someone else without informing me, which caused my credit rating to tank even further just cause "our credit agreement allows it". Scummy practices that don't care about their customers whatsoever.

Avoid this company at all cost

Avoid this company at all cost. The interest rates are sky high so it makes sense to pay off loan as soon as possible. However they do all they can to make that impossible. There is a link on their website to request a settlement figure. This does not work and a message appears requesting you to contact them. When you contact them they repeatedly tell you to use the link.

Intentional Sabotage to Subject Access Request

This company has actively sabotaged to complaints process. I put in a Subject Access Request weeks ago. Phone today to check on the progress and I got told they didn't even put in the request, setting me back by weeks. Not only do they irresponsibly give out money, they actively try and sabotage attempts to make progress in complaints against them/their parent company Oakbrooke Finance

Loan sharks with no compassion

Please just avoid avoid avoid. Any sniff of financial difficulty and this company turns into the worst loan shark. I have found myself having to contact my debtors and this company is the only one that has had been in tears, turning away complaints and issuing defaults incorrectly. When I complained about the incorrectly default I’ve been told nothing they can do even if they wanted to as they have been sold. Please just avoid. I can write a book on how awful this company is

Poor business practises

My Mother took out a £10,000 loan, bare in mind she's in her 70's and only receiving a state pension and has poor credit, she already had large amounts of debt she was struggling with and was hoping to consolidate it with this loan. What kind of business thinks that's even viable at her age and with her income? She was absolutely crippled with repayments, we sorted it by applying for an IVA as it was her only chance of getting financially stable.

But during the time she was struggling, she was absolutely harassed, the customer service team was awful to deal with and bullying tactics were used. Yes, she shouldn't of taken the loan out but honestly, she should never have been accepted for it in the first place.

Beware this company, apply if you're 100% certain that your circumstances will not change otherwise, there's alot of other better companies available to help.

Default without reason or notice

Similar to another recent review. I set up a reduced payment plan for a short period earlier this year. The payment plan then ended and I was paying a larger monthly payment to cover the shortfall).

They then decided to default the loan and sell it on to Lowell in July without any communications or reason as far as I can see. Since July I have kept paying Likely Loans and the loan is now paid off but Lowell think I still owe the balance from July. I only realised when I was checking my direct debits and noticed Lowell were listed.

Likely Loans (Oakbrook) refuse to discuss further but Lowell have opened an investigation. I assume this will have shot my credit rating since they defaulted the loan. That is unacceptable so I'll have to take it further once Lowell have concluded their investigation.

If this has happened to more people recently, you can contact the credit referencing agency to dispute the default and have it (hopefully) removed or suppressed from your credit file. I would only do this after you have concluded a complaint with Lowell and Oakbrook.

If I could give less of a score I…

If I could give less of a score I would! Fell behind a couple of years ago and was in a repayment plan. Last year started paying back the full monthly payment. I have 5 months left and the loan would be finished and they have gone and sold it to Lowell debt collectors!!! Sold it on the 19th of October and I have had no communications about this & they still took payment at the end of October. Rang up and spoke to Fatima who was very unhelpful and just kept saying I would need to speak to Lowell about this.
Disgrace of a company. Avoid at all costs

Difficult to settle loan, they dont seem to want their money back... odd.

Easy enough to receive the money, but very very hard to settle loan early. Every time I do, it says that Ive either made a payment within a couple of weeks or just about to make a payment within a couple of weeks (which is pretty much the situation at all times since repayments are taken monthly..!) therefore it will always state I have recently just made/about to make a payment. Ive given up attempting to settle early as there is no-one there, so I'll just continue to make the monthly payments instead. Its a bit weird though... they're keen to give you a wad of money within minutes, but not so keen to get their own money back early! strange people.
