Essentially a mandated man-in-the-middle attack
Lightspeed, or rather several services of theirs such as their proxy agents, serve a page on localhost:6543 (from what I've observed) and essentially redirect to that page if Lightspeed detects either a blocked keyword in a Google search (such as "unblocked" or "games") or a blocked URL (such as, in my case, crates.io or Github.) Not only that, but they also often force-install Root CAs (certificate authorities) to thwart any sense of privacy and to perform full SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) inspections. Not to mention Lightspeed Alert, like similar early detection models, train on student data. This level of surveillance essentially conditions our next generation to be okay with minimal privacy.

They take away any privacy students have.
At home, I use my school computer to do out-of-school classes and projects. Light speed reports it to my teachers as "inappropriate behaviour" and sends a prewritten email to my family. This allows teachers to control your screen, wifi, and see your search history.
