Lighting Company (Under new Ownership June 2026) Reviews 

This is my second order as I was so please with the first lights that I decided to put them elsewhere in the house. Great range and reasonable prices.

Staff at the Lighting Company were VERY helpful.

Sadly the bathroom light I bought (on approval) did not suit my very specific requirements. Had no problem returning it for a refund, very helpful and pleasant staff - I would not hesitate to do business with this company again. Wide range of well presented products in a town centre location - well worth a visit.

I cannot fault this company, from my initial browse around their store in Taunton, where, after being greeted on entering I was left to look around without being pestered.

For several months I had been looking for two pendant ceiling lights for my kitchen and had searched the internet without much success, other than establishing a small number of potential contenders, including an ‘American Diner’ light that might meet my requirements. I was therefore pleased to see an example of this type of light on display in the store; from my internet searches I was aware that this style of light was available at a lower price online, but I felt that my experience in the store and with the store staff made it worth the additional cost and was happy to place an order for two to be delivered to my home address.

I placed my order on the 18th July, it was delivered on the 24th. Taking into account my address in the Scottish Highlands, this was a pleasant surprise. Both items were extremely well packed, the two individual boxes protectively packed in a larger outer box. The items (including 6 glass shades and bulbs) arrived safely without damage of any kind, which, in my opinion is entirely due to the care taken by The Lighting Company. The assembly and installation instructions provided were perfectly adequate for the purpose and the return instructions equally clear.

The lights are now installed and working, and I am more than satisfied with the products and the service provided by the company.

We wanted a pair of Laura Ashley bedside lamp shades we'd seen online and found The Lighting Company in Taunton was the nearest shop to us (30 miles) which had them in stock. As the colours were difficult to tell online we needed to see them & try one or two shades before the final decision.
The assistant who served us was so friendly, helpful & patient. She gave us her undivided attention together with advice about sizing etc with the base. As a result of her help we also decided to order a matching shade for the ceiling light as well.
The shades were delivered on the day we expected them & were beautifully packed. The box was coming adrift in one corner where the tape had not been secured straight but that had not affected the contents.
We are really delighted with our purchases which have finished off our bedroom perfectly.

PLEASE BE AWARE— THIS COMPANY CHARGE MUCH MORE THAN OTHER COMPANIES!!! Unfortunately realised that 5 days after I was able to return it and have lost out on £250 in total!! Bought 3 lights for £130 each when they are selling them for £50 each! Absolutely ridiculous scamming prices. Stay away

Checked order when it arrived. It was the correct items in the correct colour and it was extremely well packaged. But when we got around to putting the lamps up (which was really quite tricky with not helpful instructions) I realised that one of the parts was bent horribly out of shape. I contacted the company, but as more than 48 hours had passed since delivery, they refused to do anything at all.

Update after response:
Your very polite colleague indeed was very polite when she told me it was just too bad that my order turned out to be damaged. She made it perfectly and politely clear that that was the end of the story, so of course I went ahead and wrote the review. Only after that did she offer to send a replacement, but replacement of what? As I thought she meant the whole lamp, I suggested a 50% refund (on the damaged lamp only, not the whole order), but she meant to send just the part. However to replace the part, the whole lamp would need rewiring, which is beyond my skills, hence I’d have to hire a pro to do it. That would cost more than a new lamp. So at the end of the day, yes, you have been very polite, very quick to respond, but no help at all.

Great Service, was very impressed the way our table lamp was packaged. As a consequence it was delivered in pristine condition.

Fantastic service. I couldn’t find the Laura Ashley lamp shades I wanted anywhere until I went on this website. Cheaper and super quick they arrived careful packaged and pristine. I would definitely use this company again!

wall lights 'in stock' on website- so order and prompt payment made. within 2 days we received an email from this company to notify wall lights are not in stock (although on website clearly states they are in stock). Given the option of ordering an alternative or request refund- we requested a refund- then to be told we wont be refunded promptly- refund may take up to 14 days- when we complained- we were then told legally they don't have to refund us promptly and they can take up to 28 days to pay us back for an item they don't have and falsely noting on their website (as in stock)! False company!

This is a fantastic company. I'd bought from them online before and was very pleased with price and service. This time I spoke twice to Caroline who was very helpful and knowledgeable in taking me through my options for bulbs. I received my goods in rural West Wales less than 24 hours after placing my order. Brilliant! Thanks

I have had some lovely lamps. Two table lamps and a standard lamp. Unfortunately to matching standard lamp was no longer available so I was recommended two. One was ideal, and cost less. All orders have been packed carefully and arrived in good order. Am very pleased.
