I lije that they supposedly bring water to those that are struggling to get clean water. However, customer service is also something they should value.

We bought the community unit last year and, unfortunately, didn't get around to using it until months later. It stinks and tastes of chemicals. Wrote into Lifestraw and the AI suggested a bleach wash. Followed those instructions and it still stinks to high heaven and is unusable. Gave them another opportunity to reach out to help by email and they never bothered responding. $400 flushed down the drain. Wrote a review on their site that they must've deleted.

Frustrating experience – no address changes allowed
Ordered a LifeStraw Home pitcher directly from their site and it automatically put a shipping address from previous order. Realized it minutes later and emailed support immediately to fix it.
Their policy: “Unable to cancel or change orders once submitted” – not even a simple address update. No phone support, slow email responses, and I can’t even leave a review on their site until (if) the product arrives.
Now I’m stuck waiting for it to go to the wrong place and dealing with forwarding or returns. For a brand focused on helping people, this rigid process feels very customer-unfriendly. Disappointing.

I bought LifeStraw with the belief that finally and did not needed to drink any bottle water. After a week of use I started getting slight headaches, stomach upset, constipation and diarrhea. I should have searched the pros and cons. I learned that LifeStraw does not filter viruses, heavy metals or certain chemicals. I am an older person with a very delicate gastro system. And I did not like the fact that there is not a customer service phone number. I hope that I will get my money back. Port Charlotte, Florida
New Dispenser leaves, getting the run around for a refund.
I received this dispenser and found that the spout leaks. Since I was well within the 45 day return window, I initiated an online return as there is no phone number for customer service. I got an email telling me this was a warranty issue and that I should make a warranty claim for a new part. It would be impossible for me to replace the spout. I emailed back that I want to send it back for a refund. I have yet to hear from them. If you look through the online reviews, this kind of leak is common to their products. I would not buy anything from this company!!!
Terrible Product
I’m based in Greece and purchased the LifeStraw 1L bottle through an official reseller, and this has been one of the most disappointing product experiences I’ve ever had. For a €70 bottle, the build quality is unacceptable. The lid has no proper locking mechanism, and the handle has already come off several times, causing the bottle to fall and get damaged. The closure is stiff and unreliable, and the bottle often leaks water. On several occasions, when I opened the cap to drink, water started pouring out through the straw for no reason. I expected much better durability and design from a brand like LifeStraw. This product feels poorly engineered for its price and reputation, and I’m very disappointed with my purchase.
Replacement filter sold out forever?
Have their jug, went for a 3 week holiday and kept my filters dry. Starting it up I realized this is not how they recommend storing it, so I contacted them to ask if it was still safe to use and when the filter would stop being sold out, since I need a new one if my storing was not okay.
After a few days I got a reply on how to store it. Thus did not answer my questions at all. I needed info on when I could get a filter from them and while waiting if my current filter is safe to use. I emailed back with the same concerns and radio silence and no hint to when the filter will be back on stock. So pretty useless when you can’t get replacement filters.

I have reached out to support and received no answer within 5 working days. The bottle clogged 2 days from date of purchase despite following instructions for initial use and no advise was provided how to resolve. A lot of money wasted. I will not recommend to anyone.
The filter does not hold
The filter does not hold. Whenever it’s replaced every 6 weeks (sooner than recommended), bacteria and parasites still get through. My veterinary bills prove this. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!
The filtration rate is extremely slow
The filtration rate is extremely slow, and I’m not talking about 25 minutes, as they claim in their advertisement, I’m talking about hours. Second, their customer service is extremely bad, You can’t reach them — there’s almost no way to contact them except by email, and even then, they’re not very quick to reply. Third, I wanted to make myself a cup of tea today, so I poured water that I had filtered using my LifeStraw filter into my glass kettle. After the water boiled and the kettle turned off, I looked at the water and it was extremely dirty — very cloudy and murky. Then I tried filtering the same water using my regular filter, the one I bought at an ordinary grocery store and it was much cleaner. I paid 80 euros for that thing, and I can’t reach the customer service, I’m extremely disappointed in that thing. I should’ve bought it from Amazon, there I could’ve handled my issues much faster. You live and learn!!!

Products ordered still not shipped/no Customer Service phone number to call
I wish I had seen these other negative reviews before I paid $87.68 for my products from LifeStraw. Like others are stating, the products being ordered are not being delivered. I too received a tracking number, but the USPS is still stating "Shipping Label Created, USPS Awaiting Item." That was on March 19th. Another check this morning reveals the same status. On March 23rd I received an automated email from LifeStraw claiming they noticed the "shipment hasn't been updated by the carrier in a few days... There's not need to check in with us - We're monitoring your shipment with USPS and will be in touch if it isn't moving soon." If you notice, on their website they have FAQ's regarding delays in shipment, why they don't show as being shipped, etc. Seems odd, doesn't it, to have articles like this? It suggests they either have ongoing and unresolved shipping issues, or perhaps there is something else going on behind the scenes at LifeStraw that is causing the delay. USPS has its issues, but this seems like a trend that indicates other problems. And that seems to be confirmed by the multiple (and recent) complaints, all very similar. I just sent an email to LifeStraw asking for some resolution - as noted in another review, they don't have a customer service phone number you can call. That alone should give you pause before purchasing from them. I'm not hopeful I will receive a timely response to my email, based on other comments here.

replacement filter sold unsealed and used and returned and resold
I have ordered Three different replacement filters for my collapsible bottle. All three of them have come unsealed and dirty where someone else has returned them and they resell them. How can you trust a company that supposedly sells something to sterilize water when it comes to you unsealed and used with dirt and grime around it. Unsanitary and untrustworthy. Why don't they seal them in secure packaging or have at least a safety seal on the package so you know if it's been opened or not, it's absolutely ridiculous.

I want to warn people not to purchase anything from Life Straw (also operating as Vestergaard Frandsen. I ordered the products from Venmo on their website, received no product, no confirmation of the transaction and after 7 emails back and forth with customer service was told basically go to my bank and try to work out the transaction with them--and have a nice day. Minimally this company should try to get their technology right. I'm out $185 and now have to wrangle with the bank.

Mine stopped working in few weeks
Mine stopped working in few weeks, filtered approx 30 liters with it. After few use it started to taste horrible, on their website they just offer home remedies (clean with bleach...) I met several backpackers and they have very similar experiences. On the road I don't have access to freeze it or bleach it.They don't reply on mails either. Don't buy from them if you are going on a long trip.
