Till 0068 today

Till 0068 today. Absolutely zero customer service. Doesn’t take much to at least talk and help with a damaged food item. Not even a replacement offered

Let down by poor stock levels.

Good value but let down by poor stock levels. "Free" and discounted Lidl Plus items invariably not available resulting in a wasted journey.
Disappointing, could be so much better.

Rotten or mouldy produce

I have visited my local Lidl store in Mitcham. Most of their fresh produce in multipacks, such as oranges, peaches, donut peaches, avocados, pears, is about 20% mouldy or rotten. I have never bothered to return any packs when I have discovered this at home. If you sift and try to select a pack that is free from rot or mould, it is such hard work because you would find many packs following this pattern. I can see this in my local store but I am not sure if this is common across the board but all the stores in the UK get their bulk deliveries from their central warehouses so this could be the case with all Lidl stores. I have not noticed this with other major supermarkets in the UK.

Small apples. Why sell small apples? If I want tiny apples I'll grow them myself. What is wrong with your purchasing person.

Lidl Newhaven Sussex

Lidl Newhaven Sussex
Absolute dump. Not much on the shelves in fact 90% empty 3pm weekday. Dirty and chaotic. No fresh bakery items only loaves. No packed cakes. Broken freezers and the ones that were working were nearly empty. Maybe short staffed but it’s been like it for ages now.

Joke of a shop.

Joke of a shop.. putting alcoholic drinks with the fruit juices (kombucha) .. I don’t drink due to faith and health and went to purchase a healthy drink and didn’t realise and drank some!! Made a complaint and they tried to offer me a measly £10 which I refuted Lidl what are you going to do to put this right? No mention of alcohol on front of drink either. Manager was about as useful as a wet paper bag too.

Unsafe exit policy and unprofessional…

Unsafe exit policy and unprofessional management at Barking store

I visited the Lidl 62-82 Stag Island, Ripple Road, Barking IG11 on 01/06/2026 at around 12:45-13:30 just to buy a drink, but the store was crowded and the aisles were too narrow to navigate past trolleys, so I decided to leave empty-handed.
When I tried to leave through the self-service area, the electronic exit gate was locked. I asked a nearby staff member to let me out since I didn’t buy anything. I was shocked when he told me to closely follow behind ("jump") the next paying customer to slip through the gate. This is degrading, dangerous, and violates personal boundaries. When I pointed out that transit systems like TfL spend millions trying to stop this exact behaviour, the employee rolled his eyes and walked away.
I asked to speak to the manager about this awful customer service, only to find out that this employee WAS management. I later witnessed staff telling other empty-handed customers to do the exact same thing. Forcing people to crowd strangers just to exit a building is a massive safety hazard and completely unacceptable management and need to be escalate.

An embarrasing and upsetting experience…

We shop in Lidl many times a week as it is v near to home. Lately they put in more self service tills...which I don't like using at all. Also you now have somehow to get through a gate to get out of the self servicexarea.Seen quite a bit of confusion of people trying to exit.
Went in for a last minute shop after getting back from holiday at 9pm on an evening...hadxabot £20/30 in basket. An assistant was cleaning down her till ( I presume) I said " is this the till I can come through" She said " No you have to go on the self service tills..there's no tills on" So I said " OK then I'm off to Aldi" She wondered whatvI meant and I told her I didn't use the self service tills. There then ensued whatcI can only say was a bit of an interrogation as to why I wouldn't use the selfe sevice tills " when you only have a basket" I pointed out I did not need to explain my reasons. The security guard came over and as I started to speak to him the assistant said " He'll tell you the same'. So I said " No problem...I'm going to Aldi"
Went to Aldi...b4 I shopped asked if I could choose to be served at the til...and was told" of course you can..just come to till 1 ...I'll keep an eye out for you and come and serve you"( she too was busy cleaning and tidying around the till area. Within 10mins...I'd shopped payed at till and was back in my car. Took half the time I'd spent in Lidl shopping then having to explain myself as to my choice of tills.
So upshot is I'll now shop at Aldi which is only slightly further away.
Well done Aldi ...though
Lidl...Sunderland , North Hylton Road,
Won't be shopping there anymore ...after years of giving them my custom

Atrocious Way to Treat Customers

AVOID LIDL IF YOU DRIVE A CAR AND DON'T WANT £90 to £100 FINE
I regularly use Lidl, all around Glasgow, generally I like the store. However today, 30th June, 2026 it completely changed.
The Lidl on Victoria Road Glasgow is a complete disaster and customer service and managers are an absolute joke.
Now at this Lidl when you park you then have to register your car in the store then scan your receipt when you leave. (SCANNERS WERE OUT OF ORDER TODAY?) This is a joke: what if you are there to pick someone up? What if Lidl don't have what you want and you have to leave without a receipt?? It's a joke and both managers I talked to today were an absolute joke with zero service and a confrontational demeanour.
These parking restrictions are so onerous that I have decided just never to use any Lidl again, I don't want to do thus but atrocious customer service should not be rewarded.
I don't ever really complaint but this experience is just unacceptable. 👎
MY ADVICE - AVOID LIDL IF YOU DRIVE A CAR AND DON'T WANT £100 FINE

Self Service --"No Service"

Never had a problem before and found the 7am opening time extremely convenient but overnight most tills now converted to "self-service" (ie no service ) with no staffed tills opened when I visited..A total "stress fest" trying to get a full trolley through a no-service till although the one single overworked female on the no-service tills was as helpful as she could be. Sadly will be switching stores to ALDI even though the 8am opening time won't be half as convenient.

Toilet at LIDL Coventry Road Yardley

Toilet at LIDL Coventry Road Yardley. Visited this branch today. Lock on door so stiff to open. Eventually after 3rd try managed to open to find no toilet seat and not clean from floor up. Very disappointing as a 70year old lady with a new knee.

No guaranteed interviews - all for PR

What fibbers you are - all over the news, boasting about offering guaranteed interviews to the longer unemployed... and you do not.

I wouldn't mind so much but the person in question has Grade 9s at GCSE and As at A level, is hard working, polite and honest. Shame current Lidl employees can't say the same.

Went to Lidl Finchfield reopening

Went to Lidl Finchfield reopening on Thursday and most shelves were completely empty. Went again on Sunday and the shelves were still completely empty but this time so were the freezers and fridges. Went to Aldi instead and the store was all stocked up.

Feel most disgusted and humiliated shopping experience

Visited yesterday just before closing time which is 9 pm. Went in few minutes before 9 and I appreciating their closing time by picking up my kids needs very quickly. At sharp 9 one of the staff approached me very rushed and rudly told me get to the check out now.
I was rushing to pick my last item some bananas same person again called me off and the security person also joined him.
Was really really upset about their rude behavior with no service at all.
Had to gave up my shopping and went off without them.
Don't know why they have done this with me? One of the reasons may I was in my religious attire.
I know very well that for any operation closing times are very challenging and frustrating.
But if you let any customer in then you have to provide the same service that customer as well.

I am a regular customer at Lidl Corby…

I am a regular customer at Lidl Corby and do my weekly shop there every Saturday evening. Unfortunately, my experience this weekend was extremely disappointing.

After filling a trolley with over 50 items, I found that there were no staffed checkouts open. I noticed a member of staff at one of the tills and politely asked whether she was opening it. In a rude and arrogant tone, she simply replied, "No, you need to go to the self-checkout." I pointed out that I had a full trolley, which should have been obvious, but she repeated that I had to use the self-checkout.

This is not an appropriate way to treat customers with large shops. The self-checkout area is not designed for trolley loads of shopping. There is very limited space, the process is slow, and several items failed to scan properly.

After struggling for a while, I spoke to another member of staff, who has worked at the store for many years and has always been friendly and helpful. I explained that this situation was unreasonable. She agreed with me and immediately directed me to a staffed checkout, where I was served without issue.

I am not submitting this complaint to criticise the helpful member of staff. Instead, I want to raise a concern with Lidl's management. Customers with large weekly shops should not be forced to use self-checkouts simply because no staffed tills are open, particularly when a checkout can clearly be opened when requested. Equally concerning was the dismissive and rude attitude of the first member of staff I approached.

I hope this feedback is taken seriously and used to improve both customer service and the management of checkouts. Regular customers should not be made to feel like an inconvenience when doing a large weekly shop.
