Good customer service. Account website is easy to navigate. However, premium costs have risen so much that they have become a financial stress on my family's finances.

Liberty Mutual will live you in ruins
My husband and I purchased a home owners policy with Liberty mutual over two years ago and have been paying monthly for the coverage they provide. Last week we found water in our finished basement and discovered a crack in our foundation. The crack was only found after the removal of all the carpeting and part of the drywall, in the area affected. Now Liberty Mutual is saying that the foundation is not covered as part of our insurance and that because water is involved the issue would fall under flood insurance. We do not have flood insurance as we are not eligible for flood insurance, we checked when we bought the house. At no point during the purchase of the plan were we told the foundation was not covered. A person should not require an advanced law degree on order to not be taken advantage of by multi-billion dollar corporations. We had an inspection of our house when we purchased it, we have done regular maintenance on the house, and even had our brick looked at, what else should we have done to keep our home habitable? We have three children under the age of five, the youngest being only two months old, and I don't know what we are supposed to do now. We thought we were protected by having insurance, but NO they only care about making money and not the lives their underhanded tactics affect.

Reckless Cancellations
Husband got 2 speeding tickets that increased my insurance payment through another company by $75, so I had him get his own insurance. A month and a half later my car overheated and I call to remove insurance from it only to find out Liberty Mutual canceled my entire auto policy instead of just removing my husband and his vehicle from my policy. It was my policy in my name only and husband was only authorized driver. The generic letter Liberty sent to cancel didn't specify a vehicle, just carelessly canceled the entire policy without questioning of this cancelation would negatively effect other vehicles or drivers. You need to ask more questions before you ruin somebody's life leaving them uninsured. Had my car caught on fire that day I'd be in a world of hurt bc Liberty Mutual is careless and doesn't ask who these cancelations will effect. Shame on you people, and customer service can't even accept any responsibility. It's a "misunderstanding" according to them.

Good Experience
Very patient & helpful "live" customer support! Not to mention price as well.

The process of getting a quote was very easy. I was able to compare prices, tailor coverage that fit my needs. I didn't sacrifice anything from my previous insurance and still saved so much. I recommend.

The questions amd answers were easy and how to decide the correct one for us . Liberty offered more coverage which was nice than others.
The price was close to most others but offered a bit more in which made me feel more confortable.
Hard to get sign in getting code number
Good rates, but inadequate communication modes and a suckass RightTrack system
My Pluses and Minuses are below:
Pluses:
1) Liberty Mutual Auto Insurance Company offers some great auto insurance rates. I just signed up with them on June 11, 2026.
They beat out the other half a dozen of other competitive companies I compared.
2) They offer text message communication.
3) They also offer fax communication.
4) They offer chat communication.
Minuses:
1) Liberty Mutual doesn't offer regular email communication. They only have an email address for sending documents.
2) Their RightTrack phone app that monitors our driving is faulty. It records bike trips, which is totally absurd. Allstate Auto insurance and Progressive Auto Insurance offer a plug-in device that plugs right into the car under your dashboard. These specifically monitor your vehicle driving only, which is the way it is supposed to be. I suggested this to Liberty Mutual recently. I hope they will consider offering this.
3) In a recent text message, their customer service agent suggested that I call RightTrack people for inquiries. I hate business phone calls. Fortunately, the text agent provided me Liberty Mutual's fax number and I contacted RightTrack people via fax.
4) In reply to a recent fax transmission to RightTrack customer service, the agent in an email did not give me helpful information. The agent also didn't sign their name, which is cowardly in my opinion. People should be held accountable for what they say. All emails should have a Closing with an agent's name.
