GETTING LG TO HONOUR THEIR WARRANTIES - NIGHTMARE

So my fridge freezer packs up after 7 years. On the door of the freezer is marked "Inverter Compressor 10 Year Warranty" Try getting reimbursed by LG Electronics UK. Good luck with that.
Days and days, photo after photo of your receipts for the puchase - pointless as you're only claiming for he compressor, receipts for the replacement compressor, an engineer's report to certify it needed replacing, engineer's invoice - pointless since they won't reimburse for the labour. They get you to jump through hoop after hoop after hoop, rejecting your photographs as unclear or insubmissable. When you have finally sent the third replacement photos and had a huge e-mail and phone battle with them, they realize you will not go away and just drop it in exasperation and so relucatntly agree to cover the compressor and...wait for it...processing the payment will take 45 days as a final act of resentment for your perseverance and only IF management approves it. Yes, after all that it still has to be approved by yet more snide bureaucrats. The whole exercise cost me over £500 and the replacement compressor was £183 and that's all they'll reimburse after all that (hopefully).

YOUR TAKE-AWAY FROM THIS
When in the showroom ignore any garbage about manufacturer's warranties and tell the silly, grinning spotty-faced goon of a sales assitant to shut up about it. It's a sales ploy.

Serious safety fault and no clear resolution from LG

I am extremely disappointed with LG’s handling of a serious fault on my LG washer dryer.

The appliance is only around five years old and has already had significant issues. It previously required repair after a major vibration/severe shaking problem, and it has now developed a much more concerning fault involving a burning smell.

Pacifica, acting in relation to the LG case, inspected the machine and recorded that the door gasket had melted near the duct entrance and that it requires a new gasket, element, stat and duct assembly. LG has also advised me not to operate the appliance, which confirms this is not a minor issue.

Despite this, I have had to repeatedly chase LG Customer Service and the Resolutions Team. The response so far has been that the warranty has expired and that LG is still waiting for further clarification, with no clear timescale for a decision. This is unacceptable for an appliance with a potential safety-related fault, especially when an engineer has already identified melted components and the parts required.

I am left with an unusable washing machine, no confirmed repair date, no confirmed goodwill decision, and no clear action plan. For a major manufacturer, this level of aftercare is very poor.

LG should be treating this as an urgent safety-related complaint, not leaving the customer stuck between LG, Pacifica, and the retailer.

At this stage, I cannot recommend LG appliances or LG customer service. I expected far better support from a brand of this size.

DO NOT BUY FROM LG

DO NOT BUY FROM LG

I bought my first LG washer less than 6 months ago. It had a faulty door lock that made it vibrate and leak because it wasn't tight enough to seal properly when in use.
LG sent an engineer out, who upon removing the door lock and door seal, found corrosion on the drum lip (the part hidden under the drum seal itself that is not user accessible)

The engineer then lied about my repair. He said there was no issue with the lock, noted the rust and said it was probably from being used and also said I was aggressive and shouting. Luckily I have CCTV of the ENTIRE interaction which proves he's a liar. This is taking place in a household with two disabled vulnerable adults.

I formally rejected the machine with Appliance City who I purchased it from, they told me that LG said the engineer report said there was no rust! Despite the engineers OWN photos and mine and CCTV proving differently. Appliance City keeps pushing me back to LG, LG hasn't even got back to me after I sent the CCTV proving the engineer was a liar.

I'm shocked and appalled that LG would treat disabled customers like this, allowing engineers to outright lie about your conduct and bring your behaviour into disrepute.

The fact they used my Mom's bowel cancer and the necessary washing we have to do to say the rust was caused by that. DISGUSTING.
I have this in black and white in the engineers report.
I have all the emails, the report, photos and CCTV.
I am still left with a machine that I can't use because it leaks and having two physically disabled people in the house makes that a much more dangerous slip hazard.

Worst of the worst brand and company

Worst of the worst brand and company. The fridge we bought from them has warranty on it but the customer service is a disaster to talk to. They try to give a speech and never address the scheduling and they cancel appointments without communicating. It’s a terrible business, not recommended at all their products and the fridge is only 3 years old and stops working.

I bought a 12,000 BTU window air conditioner for over $500 after researching reviews. I barely use the AC and after only 2 years it stopped cooling and is giving me a refrigerant warning. Tried getting help from LG but they want me to pay for the repairs. Imagine that, an AC that breaks down after only 2 years being lightly used.

Repeated delays and inconsistent communication.

Very disappointed with LG’s customer service. I received a damaged microwave on April 30, 2026, and reported the dents immediately with photos. I declined a discount because I simply wanted a replacement for the damaged product.

A week later, the delivery company called to pick up the microwave but did not bring a replacement. I was told LG would contact me with a new delivery date, but no one ever did. I called again on May 13 and spent over 30 minutes being transferred between departments before being told someone would contact me within 7–10 business days. After still hearing nothing, I called again today and was told the request timeframe had expired and another form had to be submitted to corporate.

Nearly three weeks later, I still do not have a replacement or a clear resolution. The lack of communication, follow-up, and accountability has been extremely frustrating and unprofessional.

LG replaces linear compressors w/the same compressor and no 5 year Parts and Labor

0 star rating for Customer Care and LG Products

BUYER BEWARE - LG sells refrigerators knowing they have defective inverter linear compressors in their refrigerators and LG does not stand behind their products or customers.

I purchased my refrigerator Model LRFCS25D3S (one model of many with failing compressors) from Home Depot online in early 2022 for $1600. Last week, almost 3 years and 3 months, the refrigerator completely died due to a failed linear compressor. In addition, I lost close to $1200 of food due to spoilage. LG claims that since I called LG about the compressor failure 2 days before it was repaired (LG requires 3 days - how convenient), I am not entitled to a spoilage refund; even though my refrigerator crashed last week (after business hours on Friday prior to Mother's Day).

NOTE: LG replaced the Inverter Linear Compressor with the exact same model and LG does not provide a new warranty for parts and labor on the new compressors installed despite the fact that they are well aware these compressors may only last 2-4 years before they no longer work and can breakdown in as little as a week after being installed. LG never fixed the issue with the linear compressors and are still using them. SHAME, SHAME.

There have been multiple class action lawsuits against LG including settlement and new litigation filed in 2024 due to the defective compressors in LG refrigerators.

I will never buy another LG product because they do not stand behind their products and customers.

EXTREMELY DISSATISFIED CUSTOMER.

After sales service when problems happen is a disgrace

Wish I’d have read the reviews on how bad LG are when things go wrong. We’ve got an American Fridge Freezer that has failed after bang on 5 years. I paid for a fixed price repair as the general warranty is 2 years except for the Compressor which is 10 years. Turns out the compressor had failed, so this should be covered.

The engineer determined that the unit was beyond economic repair and informed LG as such. However I heard nothing so chased after 2 days to be informed that the ‘after sales team’ would get back in 1-3 days from the original visit.

On the 3rd Day I chased again as you guessed it, no one had bothered to call me. On this occasion, I was informed that the case had been escalated to a senior engineer to provide me with ‘alternative resolution’ and they would be in touch in a further 2-4 days.

Bearing in mind that a part failure under warranty general means a repair or replacement, I stated this further delay was unacceptable without a proper ETA so I wanted to speak to the escalation team.

I was duly transferred to the escalation team who literally another call centre girl reading from the same script and was absolutely no help or provided any means of escalation or mitigation.

Overall this way of brushing consumers off with vague timelines and promises of contact that never happens is a disgrace.

I am also due a refund of my fixed price service fee as they’ve not fixed the unit and the failed part was under warranty anyway. You’ve guessed it, that hasn’t happened either.

I’ve been happy with LG products previous having many TVs etc. but the true measure of a company is how they respond when problems happen.

In this respect, LG are a shambles and compared to Samsung who literally after one call had an engineer come out and replace a TV that had a screen issue they are not in the same sport let alone the same league.

Safe to say I don’t think I’d purchase LG items ever again and would recommend others to consider their choices as more and more product failures are a fact of life in this day and age. As such LG are a horrible company to try and deal with, using cheap outsourced call centres reading a script that only leaves you exasperated, frustrated and unhappy.

Poor product and worse customer…

Poor product and worse customer service. I purchased a 65” 4K TV UQ7050 series UHD web OS …….I also purchased the 5 year extended warranty. After 23 months, the TV would no longer connect and STAY CONNECTED to the internet. We have 2 other TVs in the house that stay connected without issue. I called the service number for the extended warranty and after 2 hours of troubleshooting, I was told by the people (square protection/allstate) that it is a software problem to be fixed by my internet service provider. I asked to speak with someone higher up/the person’s boss, and they refused. I was put on hold, but really disconnected. I had to call back two more times…….another service rep told me it is a known glitch and I had to call a local service center for repair. She did not realize I had the extended warranty. She then put me on hold/disconnected me. I called the next 5 days to speak with people and eventually just wanted a refund for the extended warranty. They would only partially refund that, because it was prorated. I eventually got them to refund the cost for the warranty in full, after 4 more phone calls……….. I also contacted LG direct via email and received a request for proof of purchase, etc. I emailed all requested documents. I have heard NOTHING back from them. Very unprofessional. I will NEVER buy another LG product. It is sad that I found this out too late. Reviews of products on line are good. I should have asked about customer service. We have a second TV, washer, and dryer, all with LG. I’m just hoping they last more than 23 months.

Obnoxiously loud

I purchased this dishwasher in late 2019. Overall, it works well but it's been horribly loud recently while running. It sounds like a motor issue. I also researched this issue, and that seems to be the problem. It's still under warranty and I've only had it for 6 years and it should not be having problems already. When I called for a technician, the lady said they'd charge me over $300 just for a tech to come out. Such a disappointment.

I got a refrigerator from Home Depot in Pueblo Colorado I have had the refrigerator about 3 years now it is not cooling properly!!! It seems there has been some kind of failure maybe with the compressor; LG customer service has not been very good at all, they are not taking steps to send someone out to fix it, I feel like I'm getting the runaround and it's been about 8 days. The rep I spoke with today said in order to replace it or give me a refund I would need to have my receipt, I don't have my receipt it's been a few years and home depot said they don't have the receipt either they only keep it for 2 years. This is ridiculous, I'm not happy with LG projects at all, from now on I will only purchase Samsung not happy at all I warn all of you do not buy LG!!!

LG has some of the worst customer…

LG has some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I bought an LG microwave and within a month it started tripping the GFCI outlet and sparking and then shutting off. Apparently this is a common issue. I spent 2-3 hours running around in circles with bots and unhelpful human agents and answering dumb stock questions like was I sure it was plugged in and was I sure I wasn't accidentally running the timer (yeah, like either of those would make it make loud cracklings sounds and trip the outlet). Finally they issued a credit (not a refund, forcing me to buy another of their products), which they said I'd see in 24-72 hours. It took a week to show up. So I ordered a new microwave and received a notification that it had "shipped" and would be there in two days. Days go by and it's still showing tracking as "label created" (not actually shipped). I emailed, waited 2-3 days for a reply, finally they said they were looking into it. A week later, still nothing. I emailed again, and now they're cancelling the order and will issue a refund/credit. Even though their site still shows that exact model of microwave as available. Like why didn't they just pull one from inventory and take it to the place where the label was already waiting? Now I have to go through the whole process again. Meanwhile I've had no microwave for over a month, which they totally don't seem to care about.

Purchased LG dryer model DLG6101W in March 2026 from Lowe’s. Within two weeks of bringing home started to make a very loud ratcheting noise. Attempted to obtain service for three straight weeks only to be given runaround and asked to perform numerous testing procedures. Finally, after several weeks, LG tech was sent out and 4 individual repairs and parts replacement were performed in May over 7 day period. LG is still refusing to replace my new dryer with an exchanged unit. I will never buy another LG product just because of the way they handled their service. I own many LG products and have all been reliable but the one time I need their help they have failed tremendously. I was also lied to by customer service over the telephone on the procedure to obtain a return authorization through Lowe’s.

Very disappointed with my experience ordering from LG Electronics. I ordered a dryer weeks ago and scheduled delivery well in advance, only to be notified days before that the delivery was delayed again with very little explanation. The limited delivery availability already made the process difficult, and the lack of communication made it even more frustrating. I expected a much smoother experience from a major company like LG. Hoping they improve their customer service and delivery coordination in the future.

We purchased a new LG Model LF24Z6530S

We purchased a new LG Model LF24Z6530S refrigerator from Lowe’s February 19, 2026. It was installed by Lowe’s. On May 9, 2026 we discovered the freezer selection completely frozen and could not open the freezer door. We spent two hours trying to contact LG service and reporting the issue by Chat was very frustrating and there was no resolution to the issue. We were on the phone to LG on Monday May 11, 2026 and spent two more hours trying to get some help from LG. They said call Lowe’s which we did. Trying to contact Lowe’s was also frustrating and when we did they said to contact LG. We asked for service call to evaluate the issues. Both Lowe’s and LG refused to approve a service call.
Just a “merry go round”. We are senior citizens over 80 and are now left with a fridge under two months old that’s not operating properly and no help from LG or Lowe’s.

Even today

Even today, I still haven't received a refund after purchasing an OLED TV from LG. Their courier—DHL, another company that really ought to go out of business—is completely incompetent. And God forbid a public holiday happens to fall in the middle of the week; they’ll simply push your delivery back to the following week. They do this as a matter of habit—especially at the Hockenheim branch. You pay 1,000 euros, yet they dictate the terms of your delivery and do whatever suits them best. I paid using Klarna, but Klarna cannot intervene until LG gives the green light confirming a delivery that, in fact, was never actually carried out. It’s the "trio of wonders": LG, DHL, and Klarna. This has been the most disappointing experience of my life. Never, ever do business with them. Do not place orders using Klarna—PayPal is far better. Don't buy from LG either—Samsung is the superior choice. And as for shipping via DHL? You’re better off spending a little extra to choose UPS instead.

Dealing with LG customer service is an…

Dealing with LG customer service is an exercise in frustration, time wasting, repetition and speaking to a call centre in the Philippines whose staff are simply unable to deal with basic enquiries let alone issues that take them "off script". My 18 months old washer dryer has been waiting on a warranty repair for 3 weeks and LG customer service have no idea what they are doing from one day to the next. I can only hope (but with little confidence) that the repair will go ahead on the scheduled date of 28th May. Will NEVER buy another LG appliance.

Fridge Stopped Working - Customer Service is Terrible

Our LG refrigerator stopped cooling on April 24, 2026. The refrigerator and freezer compartments became warm despite the unit still having power. We contacted LG support immediately and were referred to an authorized service technician.

The first repair visit occurred on April 27, 2026 and lasted several hours. We were told the compressor had failed and compressor/sealed-system repairs were performed. After this repair, the refrigerator still did not cool properly. The freezer remained warm while the refrigerator section stayed unsafe for food storage.
A second service visit occurred on May 1, 2026. The technician again stated the refrigerator had been repaired, but temperatures remained far above safe food storage levels and the appliance continued failing to cool properly.

A third service visit occurred on May 4, 2026 and lasted approximately 1–2 hours. We were told the issue was related to a software update and that the refrigerator should function normally afterward. However, temperatures did not improve and the appliance still failed to cool correctly. When I told this to the repair tech, he insisted the 49 degree temperature of the fridge was "normal".

A fourth service visit occurred on May 6, 2026 and lasted several hours. After the technician left, the refrigerator made an extremely loud drill-like noise followed by a prolonged hissing sound from the rear of the appliance. Although the technician again stated the refrigerator was repaired, the refrigerator and freezer temperatures later returned to room temperature and the appliance stopped cooling entirely and hasn't worked at all since.

At this point, the refrigerator remains completely nonfunctional despite four repair attempts, including compressor/sealed-system work. We have lost food and have been without a working refrigerator since April 24, 2026.

We escalated the matter with LG and requested additional assistance. We were informed that the same technician is the only authorized technician available in our area and that there are no alternative service options. We were also told our only other option was to cancel service while still being charged the service fee. A supervisor callback was scheduled, but we did not receive the promised callback and have been given the runaround for several days now in our attempts to speak to someone. Jasmine, the Presidential Liason for LG is who we're allegedly waiting to hear from, but every single scheduled call never happens.

It's become clear that they are assuming we'll just give up and accept our nonworking fridge (which is still under warranty.)
