BUYER BEWARE

BUYER BEWARE — LG refuses to honor warranty on 7 month old $1,729 TV.

My LG OLED G5 65” stopped working after only 7 months of normal use showing an internal power failure error. LG sent a technician then denied my warranty claim with zero evidence of consumer fault.

LG’s Presidential Escalations Department promised a secondary review IN WRITING through BBB complaint #24987788, then called and denied the claim anyway — breaking their own written commitment.

LG sells premium products at premium prices but refuses to stand behind them. Their warranty is meaningless. Save yourself the heartache and buy Samsung or Sony instead.

Bought an LG tv since I have always found their products to be reliable. I absoutly hate the TV because of the spyware that you have to root out before using the tv and the everyday popup asking to update. No way to turn it off. Many other people complaining of this issue I will look for other brands before making a future purchase. I don't expect a TV to irritate me.

Fridge broke after 6 months

Fridge broke after 6 months, it doesn’t cool/freeze at all. A technician came out 4 times and it’s still not fixed. I haven’t had a working fridge now for six weeks. The last time the tech was here he stayed until 9:30 PM before I finally had to kick him out because we had no food in the house to eat and we had to go get something to eat. He said he would be back the next day. He never showed up. It’s been two weeks have repeatedly called LG and all they wanna do is schedule another technician. The last technician told them it was unrepairable. I just got off the phone with LG and they said they don’t show a record of any technician coming out yet they’re the ones that sent him. I still have his business card on my refrigerator and now they’re sending another technician out, but they don’t know when he’ll be here. They said I should get a call in the next 48 hours. I will never buy anything LG ever again.

Don't buy

Don't buy, Highly disappointed with LG products. Bought an LG refrigerator 5 years ago, and we have literally had to change the compressor EVERY SINGLE YEAR. Even with a stabilizer installed, the quality is pathetic. Terrible product reliability and endless maintenance costs. Save your money, guys -don't buy LG products! #BadService #LGIndia

along with all the people's comments…Few were positive.

along with all the people's comments about LG'S poor customer service, I do agree. Our refrigerator, bought in 2023, just quit! The compressor just quit. We did get a technician within a few days. He replaced the compressor and any parts connected to it. Explained the available app and how to use it. Had no complaints with him, and so far fridge is running. Not real confident that it will see old age though. Contacted LG by chat bot about reimbursement for lost food, after all it was their fault, it was their compressor that caused the food loss. Said someone would call me, no one did! I called them today. After being routed through their phone system, I was told that they do not reimburse for lost food. Why not? That's not part of warranty. And as to the warranty, the new compressor didn't start a new 5 yr. warranty and is only good for the remaining 2 years. I never detected any customer concern which has become the new normal now a days. When I get a chance I always try to let companies know that they do themselves a big disservice by disrespecting their customers. so far I have had one business come up with better service, Starz, after a few cold answers finally sent some good service my way. I will always be willing to let a business know when they do good as well as when they do poorly. See less

LG WTL5 - 10W 10kg washing machine lid

I have a LG WTL5 - 10w 10kg serial number 48TWPV6A648.
All I want is to purchase a lid as the common problem is the the lids crack off the hinges.
I've just got a massive run around & now the Lid doesn't seem to have a part number for this model 🤬🤬🤬🤬, I finely got onto a human, she was great to talk to and couldn't find a part number either, she has passed my information on & hopefully they might get back onto me in a week or so "hopefully"🤬🤬🤬🤬

Come On LG you can do better.

Rubbish Televisions.....I wish I had…

Rubbish Televisions.....I wish I had never bought a LG TV. Ever since the first switch on all I get is constantly bombarded with an insistant message to tell me that there is a new update for the device. Even after I did an update, 2 weeks later another one appears. Why is it that you cannot just switch on your TV and watch it? Avoid LG products, they are just not worth the hassle!!

Talk about dodgy warrenty and service

Talk about dodgy warrenty and customer service nightmare! Felt gas lit by the representative on The phone, who was running down a list of reasons to not open a claim. Had to start googling whilst talking to them to troubleshoot past the loaded questions and unhelpful request for proof of machines failure.

I've not even finished paying off this 10yrs warrentied, expensive washing machine, only to find the warrenty doesn't mean crap to LG.

I had better luck with unknown brand warrenties in the past. This is low grade aldi style bs, at top of the line prices.

LG Fridges

Bought a refrigerator freezer from LG a week after I bought it it broke the compressor broke the flap on it and the thermostat. In addition to this, I was keeping insulin in there. I have no neighbors I could go to. I lost over $1000 in insulin and $500 in food that I had just bought. I went to LG and I asked them couldn’t I replace it? They told me no they sent out a repair guy who looked at it told me what was wrong with that which I expressed up above what he had told me and said it couldn’t be fixed LG so they could order parts in a month and it could be fixed so the guy lied to me. I told LG I didn’t want it fixed. It was under warranty. I wanted it replaced they refused. I waited and waited. Nobody called about the parts. Nobody called about anything they already sent anybody else out and so I went to the BBB who then took a complaint and gave it to them. They came back to me and with great insult offered me $250 for the whole ordeal. I told them no I was insulted and hurt and I wanted the cost of the food for $500. They said no I could take the 250 or leave it they didn’t care so now I’m on here letting everybody know whoever buys LG refrigerator freezer don’t buy it. This company has terrible customer service you can’t talk to anybody who knows how to do anybody and they are not willing to help their customers or keep their customers. They just don’t care so I’m going to purchase another refrigerator and I guess I’m just out all that food I bought because they don’t wanna cover it and I’m not accepting the 250 because it’s an insult to be quite honest and I don’t like being insulted. As far as I’m concerned, these people don’t know how to treat a customer. They don’t know how to run this business and evidently the CEO of this company does not care either or is not being told what’s going on.

So I do not believe that anything I asked was unreasonable. I think $500 was quite reasonable as I am out the $1600 I paid for it and I do not think that the people who work there and the supervisors know how to run a retail establishment. I worked in retail, my whole life, and I would have never never ever treated a customer like this I would have been appalled if one of my employees ever did this.

I hope people read this before this company screws them over. And in case anybody was wondering these refrigerators were in a class action suit last year in 2025, which was one by the people who brought the action suit against them for bad compressors, but they didn’t seem to learn their lesson. I guess they have money to Burn because they really didn’t care.

Thank you for listening. I appreciate it.

LG misleads consumers and promises a feature not delivered

I purchased a range advertising “No preheat Air Fry with No preheating necessary.” Reality is that not only is preheating necessary, but takes longer than preheating in the Bake mode. Thinking that the air fryer setting did not work properly, I contacted LG for service. Their response was “Air frying starts once unit is at desired temp.” This IS preheating. They do not stand behind their advertising and owners manual. I advise AVOIDING LG appliances and electronics as they do not stand behind, nor offer to correct, what they promise to deliver to consumers. You might be stuck with an appliance that you would not have chosen in the first place. Very bad business practices. Shame on LG.

Extremely Disappointed with LG After-Sales Service

I am extremely disappointed with LG's after-sales service.

Our LG double-door refrigerator stopped cooling, and despite raising multiple complaints and making repeated follow-up calls, the service response has been very slow. The engineer visited only after several reminders and informed us that the required part was unavailable.

We were then told it would take another 3–4 days for the part to arrive, followed by additional time for installation. This means we may be left without a working refrigerator for nearly 10 days.

A refrigerator is an essential household appliance. Due to the delay, food, milk, vegetables, and other perishable items have spoiled, causing inconvenience and financial loss to our family.

While the engineer was polite, the overall service coordination, communication, and availability of spare parts have been very disappointing. I expected much better support from a brand like LG.

I hope LG improves its after-sales service, response time, and spare parts availability so that other customers do not have to face similar difficulties.

Appalling customer service and disappointing product

I am extremely disappointed with my experience with LG and their warranty service.

I first contacted LG’s warranty/defects department on 19 May after my dishwasher machine broke down for the third time. The customer service representative assured me that a technician would inspect the machine and provide a report so LG could determine the next steps.

A technician attended on 15 June and advised me that, because this was the third repair attempt, the machine was no longer reasonably repairable. The technician informed me that three major parts would need replacing just to get the machine working again and recommended that LG provide either a replacement or a refund.

Since then, I have made four separate phone calls to LG requesting an update. Every time I have been promised a callback within 2–3 business days, yet no one has ever called me back.

On Friday 26 June 2026, after waiting more than 10 business days since the technician’s visit, I made another call to follow up. I asked to speak with a manager because of the lack of communication and ongoing delays, but the customer service representative refused my request and simply told me to wait another 2–3 business days.

This has been one of the most disappointing customer service experiences I have ever had.

I understand that appliances can fail, and I don’t expect technology to be perfect. My frustration is not with the fact that the machine developed faults—it’s with the way LG has handled my case. I have repeatedly been promised callbacks that never happen, my machine has been unusable for over a month, and despite LG’s own technician recommending a replacement or refund, nothing has been resolved.

To make matters worse, this washing machine started experiencing problems only three months after purchase. Since then, LG has continued replacing parts until finally acknowledging that the machine is effectively beyond repair. Yet I am still left without a working washing machine and without a resolution.

I purchased LG because I believed it was a premium brand with reliable products and strong customer support. Unfortunately, this experience has shown me otherwise. A 10-year warranty means very little if customers are left waiting for weeks without communication or action when a product fails.

Based on my experience, I would not recommend LG. The quality of their customer service is nowhere near what I expected, and their warranty process has been extremely disappointing.

I had a manufacturing defect with my LG…

I had a manufacturing defect with my LG washer. When I purchased it, I made a pedestal for it and my lg dryer to sit on. I called tech support. They change my appliances. Then they sent two techs out to repair my washer. The boss tech said it wasn't safe to take my washer off of the pedestal. I took the washer off before he could walk back to his van. He took the washer face off and saw a mouse dropping. He acted scared and walk back to the van. I called tech support. They said they that I was responding for mouse damage and that my house and washer were overrun with mice and I washed mice droppings with my clothes. I put out poison and traps and got rid of the very few mice I had. I called tech support and told them I had no more mice. They told me I needed a certificate from an exterminator saying I had no more mice. They asked for pictures. I took pictures around my washer, turned it on its side and took pictures inside my washer and sent them to them. I mentioned that there might be an old mouse dropping somewhere inside the washer and that the tech wouldn't let me remove any droppings before he left. They told me if any dropping was there they could repair my washer, even if the dropping was indeed of the washer and you would have to take it apart to get to it. I asked them if they knew of an exterminator that would take her washer apart to get rid of the mouse dropping . They basically said they would never do any warranty repair on my washer. I purchased an extended warranty through Lowe's. They told me when the lg warranty run out, to let them know and they would repair my washer under warranty. I had showed Lowe's the pictures I took.

Live chat means now

Live chat means now, in the present, not basically be put on hold for hours. Maybe LG doesn't know this. Took less than a minute to connect with "live chat", but was basically put on hold forever. I even asked if they were still there, and got a reply that they had heavy call volume. LG clearly has understaffed this service. After reading the other reviews on this site, I am convinced I chose the wrong manufacturer for my oven. The front left burner turns on and never turns off. Almost caused a fire. Only had this unit for roughly 18 months. Never buying LG product again.

BUYER BEWARE

BUYER BEWARE
If only there were zero or minus stars.
End of February I commenced a warranty claim for a faulty dishwasher that was purchased at well over $1200. I am still waiting for this to be rectified, it's end of June. My floor is ruined because of this dishwasher, I have spent hundreds on multiple call outs for repairs. The LG call centre tell me they call and I don't respond and have tried to close the case which is absolute rubbish. No calls, no SMS, no emails, nothing. Why would I ignore these calls?
BUY ELSEWHERE! I wish I bought a cheap $300 dishwasher 4 times over than deals with this atrocious company. We will never buy LG anything again.

Less expensive means loud noisy and wobbly washing machine

Two in house warranty calls to be told a vibrating wobbly shaking washing machine is within tolerance and perfectly fine. Shame! Im not buying LG again because their "less expensive" options are cheaply built to insure it frustrates you into buying a more expensive model.

Hot garbage

Hot garbage. Built to fail products. Why america sucks in a nutshell. Don't waste time or money. I feel bad for anyone who works an hourly wage or an exempted salary for them. I'll say this though, with there refrigerators always breaking down it'll keep the local techs and grocers in business so "yay" for local economy, I guess.

Very disappointed in misleading information from LG and benefits platform.

I am very disappointed with this experience.
There is currently an advertised offer for an LG mobile air conditioner through the benefits platform, showing a 60% discount bringing the price down to €199. However, when trying to purchase the product through the benefits site, it states that the item is no longer available.
What makes this even more frustrating is that when visiting the official LG website directly, the same product is actually available but a completely different price (€399).
This is definitely misleading. Advertising a major discount on a product that cannot actually be purchased at that price creates false expectations and wastes customers time. It gives the impression that the offer is being used as a bait rather than a genuine deal.
I would strongly suggest more transparency and accurate availability information. If the product is no longer available, the offer should be removed immediately or clearly explained.

Overall, this experience has reduced my trust in both the promotion and the platform.
