Incredibly dissatisfied

Incredibly dissatisfied. I was sold a property by Lextons that was advertised as a two bedroom property. When I tried to re sell my property with Lextons some time later I was not only met by appalling customer service including a surveyor letting themselves into my property without notice, whilst my daughter was in bed, offers on my property not put in writing, rudeness and pressure from negotiator, and lastly discovering that my two bedroom property was in fact a one bedroom property. Apparently, building regulations dictate that i can not advertise the property I bought from Lextons as a two bedroom property, as a two bedroom property. Lextons clearly intentionally mis represented and advertised the property as a two bedroom property.

I have gone through complaints procedures to attempt to gain some acknowledgement of my concerns and the difficulties that I have experienced. However, Lextons have taken no responsibility for these difficulties, have not apologised and have not offered any kind of good will gesture.

I would certainly not recommend Lextons they are the sort of outfit that give estate agents a bad name.

I am furthering my complaint to the property ombudsman as Lextons have declined to take any responsibility or apologise.

Close to useless unfortunately:(

We are selling our property through Lextons, which seemed to go well at first - found a buyer reasonably quickly. However, since then Lextons moved us agents and its all gone downhill.

I dread trying to contact our agent because it's always an excuse, they don't have the answer to our question because 'they have too many properties' 'doing interviews' 'leaving for a viewing.' On the other hand the agent we're buying through has been amazing - checking in regularly, responsive and if they have been out on a job someone else has followed up. It's really highlighted how bad ours has been. Our take on it is our agent (who I won't name) has been snowed under so may not be their fault but if thats the case we should have been allocated someone else (which I have asked for twice but nothing has been done about).

My advice would be to avoid! They've unfortunately made the process more stressful for us which is not what you want when selling a property.

I would not recommend Lextons .

I would not recommend Lextons .

We are in no chain simple buy and altough a lot of delay was due to the vendor, the estate agent didn’t help at all . There was no on time chasing no clear communication . In fact 7 months in and we still have not received the Memorandum of sale from the agent .

Very upsetting to be treated this way . We are a family of 4 with two little children and the whole process was very stressful.

I had multiple unauthorized entries…

I had multiple unauthorized entries into my property by Lextons and their representatives based in the Hove Office, including one occasion where the landlord entered my private bathroom without clear permission, he slipped in through the front door after I consented to allowing someone in to test the fire detector. On another occasion I refused an agent access because I did not get 24 hours notice, in response I received a letter rearranging a visit with a "warning" that if access was refused I would be charged an abortive call out fee. I felt intimidated and made a formal complaint. There was no excuse for this behavior. I have been a co-operative, exemplary tenant and if they could have just explained they wanted to inspect the property there would have been no pushback from me. However, their conduct was extremely disrespectful and made me feel vulnerable. I would not rent through them again.

Superstars!! Amazing service

Beautifully advertised flat, quick response to our request, always with kindness and understanding. Professionals and friendly.

We liaised initially with Molly and then Michelle, who facilitated the whole process up to the point we got the keys. We were always communicated in a timely manner and details as to where we stood at each step of the process. We faced a situation with our cat that we did not know if she would be allowed in the building and both ladies went above and beyond for us!

We could not be any happier with the service. Huge thank you Michelle and Lextons for your excellent service standards!

Great customer service

Lisa, Amy and team were fantastic in assisting with our purchase. They were responsive and always available to clarify our concerns. They even did good to follow up with solicitors when necessary. Managed to get us the property pretty quick compared to the usual 6 months ordeal.

Sofia Camacho 👍👍👍

Sofia has provided me constantly with updates in regard to our new move in (student letting). It has only been a few weeks but she has been very pleasant to work with and very fast.

She has quickly provided documents on request such as floor plan, inventory list, helped with bills and our Broadband situation.

On a really miserable Thursday I enjoyed excellent show rounds of two Hove properties given by Lisa Morgan at Lextons. Arriving into Hove from London, Lisa was able to advise on areas and also shared great local knowledge which was very much appreciated .

Wonderful Tina of Lextons.

Tina, the branch manager, in the Kemptown branch of Lextons was absolutely fantastic at every stage of our purchase. She facilitated the negotiation stage being fair to both vendor and purchaser. She then lubricated the deal acting as go between. Whenever we felt our purchase was going nowhere, she would intervene and help things along. We always felt in the loop at every stage. Thank you, Tina!

Great service from nice people

On 19.07.2023 Lextons did two hours of 'block viewings' and showed nine viewers my flat - the following day I had tenants confirmed.

Swiftly thereafter all the relevant checks were carried out (EIPC etc) and meanwhile I was in communication with Sofia, who was arranging the references, tenancy agreement and inventory.

By 07.08.2023 I heard again from Sofia with the references and by 09.08.2023 the tenancy agreement was signed by all the parties and sent to me under cover of a helpful email from Sofia confirming the next steps and links for any maintenance/accounts queries for future ref.

A lot of work had been promptly carried out on my behalf while I just got on with my life, no fuss, no hassle and a great service from nice people. Very reassuring.
