A truly dreadful experience

A truly dreadful experience. We travelled three hours for what should have been a special birthday trip, but managed just three rides all day due to endless queues and minimal staffing. Major attractions were closed, no shows ran, and the park itself looked tired, dirty, and uncared for. Staff were slow, disengaged, and clearly didn’t want to be there.

The day was poor value for money, but the follow-up from LEGOLAND customer services made it worse. Instead of taking responsibility, they hid behind policies and offered only return tickets, effectively asking us to pay again in fuel, food, and time off just to “try again.” Their responses were unempathetic and dismissive, adding insult to injury.

LEGOLAND Windsor is not the premium experience it markets itself as. It is run down, badly staffed, and appallingly managed. With ticket prices and on-site costs so high, families deserve better.

Avoid at all costs. Do not visit.

To echo others...visit 12.10.25

To echo others. Park run down and dirty. Rides not open or broke down when queuing. Restaurants closed.

Despite there not being loads of people, queue times were very long. Queues seem to be split into two or three sections with holding points.

There seems to be a pre book system for Merlin pass holders, a remnant from Covid. Need not have bothered as just showing the pass got me in. When I asked guest services if the pre book was still required they looked at me like I had two heads, denied any knowledge of it and when I showed them the portal said I had to use it on busy days....really?!

Worst was the parking.

It's between £12 and £18 (more expensive is priority...you park nearer the entrance). It took me nearly two hours to leave the car park. No staff directing traffic so people constantly trying to push into the queue from the car park area. Needs a rethink!

Thankfully park entry and parking "free" with Merlin Pass. I'd been very very unhappy if paying cash on the day....

Sort it out Merlin!!

Very run down ,worn out ,tired tourist attraction. Rides closed down, rides not open, numerous food outlets closed down, few things not working like water buttons, dragsters and more. Shocking for the entry price, place needs a good revamp and decorating!! Good and drink well overpriced, parking is an absolute joke too, after paying a fortune to enter the park, you then have to pay extra to park and then spend 40 minutes to get out one single barrier, avoid this place and spend your hard earned money elsewhere.

0 stars for customer service. 5 stars for visit.

Having visited last December and absolutely loved it, we chose to book again for December 2025, hoping to make it an annual tradition. However we made the mistake of booking too early.

Now Legoland have rolled out their '2nd Day Free' promotion, our package would be £60 cheaper. I contacted Legoland to (nicely) ask if there was any way to have that discount applied on our package.

Nope. Because we had the foresight to buy cancellation insurance, I can cancel our trip and rebook, but they cannot even manage to just refund us £35 instead of all that hassle.
Like so many other companies these days, it seems like they're more interested in gaining new customers than in retaining loyalty, which is really sad.

We've already told the kids about this year's trip, but we'll be looking at other options for next year.
£60 is a drop in the bucket for a corporation like Legoland. But it can make a real difference to a family in today's economy.

If their customer service was better, I would happily give them 5* as our visit last year was wonderful and the staff in person were lovely (though the hotel staff seemed very overworked). But this has left a very sour taste.

Food Poisoning

Food Poisoning
I visited with my family, this includes my husband and 2 young boys aged 2 and 5.
We had a below average 1st day in the August summer holidays with incredibly long queues but as we were staying at the woodland village was looking forward to making the most of the early morning access the next day.
We all ate in the clubhouse restaurant with myself and my 5 year old son sharing the chicken main meal.
We were both then incredibly ill throughout the night and for the next day with diarrhoea and sickness. My son was too unwell to leave the room and we had to request a later check out until he could travel home later that day. This was all noted by reception on the day.
We therefore missed our 2nd day in the theme park.
I have contacted customer services who have completely dismissed our complaint and denied that we were sick from eating in their restaurant. This is despite this meal being the only one shared by only the 2 of us and my younger son and husband not getting ill.
I am incredibly disappointed with the customer service and the way this was dealt with.
Due to food poisoning from their restaurant my 5 year old son had to leave their property in a nappy and in tears as he had been waiting all summer for this special treat.
LEGOLAND have chosen to offer zero compensation or even a credit note of goodwill to visit again.

Avoid the Ultimate Fast Pass

Do not get scammed into buying Ultimate Fast Passes at this place! Having had many successful and happy days out here in the past, our last experience on 1 September was hugely disappointing. We arrived to find the park incredibly busy - too busy, clearly too many people in the park. Due to this, the 3 of us decided to invest in ultimate fast passes for the day at a hugely inflated price of £114 per person. It turns out thought that the ultimate fast pass does not in fact give you access to all of the rides in spite of billing itself as doing so!
My kids wanted to do Pirate Falls, the Dragon, Minifigure Speedway and The Flight of the Sky Lion and would have liked to do these multiple times. Having purchased ultimate fast passes in the past at this park a number of times (but not at this hugely inflated price) and used them successfully in this way, we expected this to not be a problem. Not so! For 2 hours of the afternoon between 2 & 4pm - we were unable to access any of these rides due to them being "Full". We were told by the very helpful manager on the day, Chloe, that this should not have happened and they shouldn't have been in "full" status for more than 30 minutes at a time.
We were not able to ride The Flight of the Sky Lion all day due to it being in full status constantly.
We complained on the day and whilst Chloe was sympathetic and very helpful then she wasn't able to do anything for us other than raise a case and offer us tickets to return another day at a reduced price (which worked out £2 less than using the current cereal box offers so hardly a bargain!). Followed up the case with customer services on email who are next to useless and don't seem to grasp why we may have felt ripped off and left so disappointed.
We really have had some great, happy days out here in the past. It was our 10th time of coming to this park - such a shame!

Welcoming visit

20th September- The queue times were not accurate they took less time than what was stated which was a plus.
On our 2nd day (21st)the park was slightly quieter but we met Kayleigh who was on the Learner driving school 0.9m-1.1m she was very welcoming and passionate about her job, made the experience for my niece a lot nicer, the booth where you get your license from was unfortunately close but Kayleigh was so apologetic regarding this and gave us the information that we needed.

First time visit for me £39.99 per head on the tickets . 2 hour drive to then find out your charged for parking on top and any little extras inside the park . A cup of coffee was £5 and apart from the odd Lego statue and mini Lego village it’s just a plain old fair ground with rides that are slightly Lego themed . Nothing at all special don’t waste your time and money on this one go to the beach instead even it’s pissing it down .

They’ve totally missed the mark on this place

Was so excited to take my 4 year old boys to LEGOLAND. But what a disappointment. Extortionately priced. Under whelming rides. And actually not a whole lot of Lego for a place that calls itself legoland. This could be so much more than what it is. We thought everything would at least be made to look like it was built out of LEGO. Y’know, the benches, the buildings, the bins, but no. They’ve really missed the mark on this place, and I’m not sure how it’s still open. The re-fillable drinks are an absolute rip off. Conveniently all of the vending machines selling single use bottles are sold out. There’s just no magic. The only good thing about this place is the mini city.

An honest parents perspective as first time visitors

Travelled from Thanet Kent to Legoland for our son's birthday.
Good points:
*All of the staff were friendly, kind and helpful and all who spotted our son's Legoland birthday badge wished him happy birthday.
*Every toilet we stopped at throughout the park smelled like bubblegum - it was pleasant and now I want to know how to make our bathrooms at home smell like that.
*I'm really glad we took our own lunch as most of the food kiosks were closed. Although there are a couple of picnic areas listed on the map, we chose to sit around Heartlake City harbour on the steps to eat out lunch as many others were too.
*Even though our son decided he didn't like rides after all, he still had a fantastic day and enjoyed all of the Lego because Lego is life!
*We spent ages in The Brick with our son building various creations which he really enjoyed.
*There's a couple of really nice play areas in Pirate Shores which he really enjoyed even while it was raining.

Bad points:
*The Lego mini figure factory experience which I had pre-paid for at £12.99, from an adult's perspective, isn't all it's cracked up to be. Online it states "Pick any legs, head, hair or hat and accessory to create your own personal Minifigure, with endless combinations." This is factually incorrect - there were three stations at which you could choose your legs, head, hair or hat and at all three they had 6 choices of hair which included brown dreads, black spikey hair, long purple dreads, black female Afro in a ponytail, ginger female ponytail or green slime-head. Now I'm fully aware they aren't going to have every person's unique combination of hair style and colour, but how many people do you know with purple hair?! A few generic boy/girl hair styles in the three main hair colours brown, blonde and red would have been great. I know ginger is a more rare hair colour but I seriously sensed a meltdown was brewing when our redhead son couldn't find anything remotely like his short red hair available. He wanted a Lego mini figure that looked like him and there simply weren't enough options available to make it so.
*The mobile app couldn't find our tickets despite numerous attempts, it's lucky I had them on email.
*The map on the mobile app seemed to be centered wrong and had us walking the opposite way to what the phone was facing. It took most of the day to sort itself out.
*None of the Costa coffee or ice cream kiosks seemed to be open - I don't know if this is a seasonal thing but it was disappointing as my husband wanted a Costa when he saw they had it.
*Our son's name was put on the birthday board but, with this being our first time going, we didn't know where to find the birthday board and I had to Google where it was - it's not listed on the map.
*A handful of the more gentle rides seemed to be closed which was disappointing.
* Be ye aware of the pirates of pirate shores! - £3 a go for throwing a basketball in a hoop! They will try to hustle and give you two goes at a slightly cheaper price than listed on the sign but still an absolute rip off.
* Lego driving school - they literally drive round for all of two minutes and that's your lot. I did pre-pay for the Lego driving license which is a seperate charge. Had I not already paid for this I think I'd be pretty peeved at paying out £13 after 2 minutes of driving for a photo card, but nevermind - it was for his birthday and he was happy with it.

Our takeaway from the day was that our son had an enjoyable birthday and he said we'd made his dreams come true taking him to Legoland.
Also the toilets smelled really nice.

📌 Review in English

Legoland Windsor is simply terrible.
The rides are completely outdated in both time and technology, the park is dirty everywhere (even right after opening), and many attractions are closed. Prices are outrageous, and on top of that, they try to charge you again inside for rides that should already be included in the ticket.

The pasta and pizza buffet is a disgrace: cold pasta, poorly cooked, canned sauces, and microwave pizzas. We paid an insane €72 for 2 adults and 1 child, and they only allow 3 plates and 3 cups. If you want to change a plate or cup for another food or drink, you literally have to beg.

They also have water rides and then charge you extra if you want to dry off. Tickets at the gate cost almost double compared to buying them online on their own website. The staff is neither friendly nor qualified.

All in all, this is the worst theme park I’ve ever been to, and definitely one of the most expensive. A total rip-off.

Avoid- big waste of money

Visited today. Quickly realised that without fast track tickets we would probably only get on 3 rides. Queue times were all 60-70mins.
Purchased fast track tickets. This cost an extra £80 on top of admission prices. Managed to do 6 rides with the fast track tickets. Rides all close at 5pm, really early for summers evening. Massive queue for gift shop so we didn’t bother. Then trying to leave the car park took 40mins as it was completely grid locked. Really poor services from a top uk attraction.

We visited today with 3 boys

We visited today with 3 boys. My daughter pays a lot of money for the merlin passes. I went along as a support person.
We were a tad unlucky with the weather and experienced some heavy downpours. Legoland You have been open for many years now and experienced the English weather. Why are there so few places to take shelter from the rain. Queues exposed to the elements? The exit was absolutely disgraceful. Over an hour to get from our parking space to the main entrance. You've been open too long for this to happen!
The toilets were grubby and in need of a thorough deep clean and in some cases total refurbishment. The staff were very mediocre.
My experience today has made me vow never to return, despite living near by

We visited today with our 3 year old and spent the majority of the day walking around trying to find a queue with less than 60 minute wait!! The reserve and ride options when at the park are SO expensive! Park not worth the money! Spent £40 on dry chicken and chips which had clearly been left out and fried twice!!
