Received my Fitbit but the app will not sync

Received my Fitbit but the app will not sync data from the Fitbit. Customer service keeps asking me to repeat steps already tried and are from outdated instructions from over 2 Years ago. i have sent "screen shots" showing the System menu is different from the one in the outdated tutorial. And they have asked me more then once to repeat the same steps over and over. Like they were reading from a script and not actually understanding the issue. I finally gave up interacting with "customer service" Hopefully this gets fixed.

Hi Paul, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. I've reviewed your tickets and the screenshots that you've submitted, and can confirm that instructions you were provided are accurate, but the option for Activity Trackers that should be present for you is missing entirely. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention, and we have documented this issue with our technical teams. However, I'm pleased to let you know that we will be releasing a new version of the Lark platform that's been redesigned from the ground up within the next few months. This updated version has an entirely new interface, and should resolve this issue for you. We look forward to releasing this updated version soon, and we wish you the best of health!

Hi Gary, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with Lark. While we are constantly working on items like minor bug fixes and enhancements, we haven't made any major overhauls to the platform itself in some time. I'm very pleased to share that that's about to change, and we're in the final stages of testing a complete redesign of the platform that will include some significant improvements. Keep an eye out for the official release of the updated Lark app this summer! Thanks again for sharing your feedback, and we wish you the best of health.

Not yet up to snuff

It's a great concept but you will get more by chatting with any AI LLM. Just too many issues. For example, for the last two days I added activity (90 minutes on a treadmill and 90 minutes on a bike) and it will say I didn't do anything lol.

It can't get into specifics well. It will ask you what you had for a meal and when you give it data, it makes incorrect assumptions and the opportunity to fix its errors are subpar.

I feel it will get there but will take time. Yup ;-)

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with Lark! We have received a fair amount of feedback on these points, and plan to release enhancements for both food logging and activity coaching in the future. We hope that you enjoy these enhancements once they're available later this year, and that it doesn't take us as long to get "there" as you may have initially thought! Thank you again for sharing your feedback, and we wish you the best of health.

Not fit for purpose

I have the app for hypertension. While I appreciate the company giving me a blood pressure cuff and scale, the app itself is pretty useless. I've been taking my blood pressure every day for a month, all the app does is tell me whether my blood pressure is within my normal range. I had to go to another app to learn that my range is between normal and hypertension 2. It has "daily" check-ins but the app rushes through them so you complete them in 3 or 4 days despite the app giving assignments like pay attention to your sodium today. The AI coach is pretty useless to, it checks your activity and food on opening, but if you try to do something else, like do a paired bp reading, it starts over as if you hadn't already discussed activity and food. The app is not ready for hypertension management.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. Lark is designed to provide small portions of educational content daily over week-long educational segments called "Missions" to help members build sustainable habits over time. We realize that everyone’s pace is different and recently added the ability to complete more than one mission check-in in a single day, so we really appreciate your feedback on the pace of the coaching flow and will certainly share these insights with our product team as we continue to evolve. Additional improvements to the coach are also planned over this coming year, and we will look into the issue you report of the coach retreading ground that has already been covered. Thank you again for sharing your feedback, and we wish you the best of health.

Very disapointed

They are just collecting money from BCBS without fulfilling the items promised. I'm a diabetic and was promised a complimentary smart scale, glucometer, and health coach. After downloading the app, the health coach was AI and useless. After several months, I still had not received the smart scale or glucometer. I emailed them but never received a response. I finally deleted the app today.

Hi Debra, thanks for taking the time to share your feedback today, and I'm sorry to hear that your experience with Lark was not what you were expecting. The Lark platform does leverage an AI coach across all of our programs with proven outcomes, and covers a variety of educational subjects with participants over the course of the program. Regarding your email, I did check in with our Customer Support team on this, and we can confirm that our team did respond to your email on the same day so I do apologize if you missed our response. To order the devices included in your program, simply sign in and complete the new user onboarding process, of which the device order process is one of the earliest components. Once you've ordered your devices, you'll be able to begin working through the educational program content with your coach. If you deleted Lark from your phone but did not delete your account, then your account is still active - if so, we hope you'll give Lark another try so that you can order your devices and see the benefits of the program. Thank you again for sharing your feedback, and we wish you the best of health.

tried this for several months and hated it

tried this for several months. I was offered the Lark program by my health insurance to address hypertension, which I don't actually have. I am on a blood pressure med for a different issue and apparently that is what triggered my eligibility but I could stand to lose a few pounds so thought I'd give it a try. It was completely ridiculous, with the app encouraging me to take action to lower my BP which is actually very low, with or without the med I am on. The constant check-ins and the pre-determined responses were just frustrating.

Buggy

Buggy, useless app with an even worse "coach" that is nothing but a poorly designed ai chat bot that only works on prompts given to you. I wouldn't recommend the app to anyone. The only reason I HAVE to use it is because im forced to by my insurance or risk losing coverage for medication.

Hi Tristan, thanks for taking the time to share your feedback with Lark, and I'm sorry to hear that your Lark experience hasn't lived up to your expectations. While the AI in our system is very powerful, it is not designed for conversation and interpreting free form text messages in all scenarios. However, as this has been a relatively common point of feedback, we have recently introduced an enhanced food logging system that allows for more natural text entry and interaction with your Lark coach for participants in some programs. We really appreciate your feedback that you would like more flexibility in interactions with your Lark coach, and will make sure to share it with our product development team. Thank you again, and we wish you the best of health!

Because of my unique challenges to food…

Because of my unique challenges to food due to allergies, I was looking forward to some help from the "coach". It's not really a coach. You can not ask questions. It only supplies the answers that it wants. It also stated that I had a condition that I answered "no" to. I really need help navigating how to get the nutrition I need with my allergies and this was a waste of time.

Response to response: I did contact the Lark support team and was told they only offer the AI self answering coach even though on your information page on the insurance company's website it states coach by phone. I guess the AI self answering text messages counts as phone. IDK.

They will be able to help point you in the direction of the resources available to you through your Lark program, which may include perks like talking to one of our live health coaches in a one on one session, as well as look into your inquiry about being placed in a program that you don't have the condition for. Love the scale but the application is…

Love the scale but the application is awful. Incomprehensible as to logging food as you can essentially put any food in and it will tell you you ate a good meal. Not sure that makes sense. They need to completely revamp food logging as it really is terrible. Look I'm not paying anything for it. My insurance is but to be honest I don't know how much longer I'm going to tolerate logging food when this app just simply doesn't work well.

I was at the right point for Lark AI

I was at the right point when I was offered Lark AI! Though there was some glitchiness, I realized over time that the information was USEFUL and strangely AI encouragement HELPFUL. In the past 2 years I received new knowledge, a measurement for suitable activity levels, and 2 new fitbits!! Also, I walked and AquaFitted away from 25 lbs. My A1c is still in the prediabetic range, but I know what to work on!

This is honestly the worst and most…

This is honestly the worst and most humiliating "health coach" - I eat a mostly plant based diet, with tons of veggies, fruits, whole grains, very little meat and oils other than olive or sesame, lots of good fermented stuff like Kimchi having Korean family, and this coach is constantly guilting me about incredibly healthy meals. "you got a good amount of fruits and veggies, but you got some carbs".
I literally eat mostly fresh food, very little processed junk and I was doing fine losing weight on my own without this, my insurance covered it for me for free so I thought I would give it a go, with the free scale as an enticement. It won't sync with my Garmin watch, which was crazy expensive and a gift from my husband, and I refuse to replace it with my old fitbit. Not happy with the AI bot treating me like a baby who doesn't know that veggies are good for me.

Treats You Like An Idiot

I was forced to sign up for this “coaching” for insurance coverage for GLP-1 med. It treats you like an idiot.

Today, it showed me a nutrition label that shows a 1/2 cup is a serving and said “woohoo” when I answered its question about serving size correctly. Other highlights of the 6 weeks have been telling me that French fried are a fried food and that I should eat an apple instead of a donut for a “healthy snack.”

Most people who are on GLP meds have been on diets most of their lives. The coaching (which is AI nonsense) is infantilizing. You can’t actually respond to it - just select what it tells you. It conforms to all the worst diet advice, like “good” food/“bad” food.

It’s as if no one involved in its development ever had a weight problem and believes that people only get fat because they are stupid and lazy. They should learn what science is now telling us about weight management instead of perpetuating useless stereotypes.

First Impressions

I just signed up and from what I can gather from the app it is not finished.
*No way to accurately log meals (auto system is always wrong and no way to correct the info)

I will wait and see about the scale and Fitbit functionality then I might change the review; however at this point I do not have a lot of faith in this system.

It wasn't terrible at first...

I liked it at first. It does okay with food tracking and the silly coach bot was actually helpful at first just because it made me think about my choices. I like that it tracks my daily weight in the app and I can visually see it going down. I also liked that I could save notes, which is where I tracked my measurements.
BUT, the coach got annoying so I stopped paying attention once I got in a rhythm. The scale still "works" in theory, but the weight is hit or miss on accuracy. Also, the app only saves 1 month worth of info, and that includes my notes. I have been doing this for nearly 5 months now and I would like to see my over all progress. Another thing that is really annoying is they say that you will get a Fitbit, but I only received the scale. Apparently you will receive the Fitbit if your insurance company approves it, and many do not. That fine for me because I prefer my Samsung watch, except the app does not connect to my watch. I have to manually add all activity which is a pain because half the time it does not accurately track it even if I enter it myself. In the beginning, it connect to my health app, but after about a week it stopped, so my water intake, steps, and manually input weights stopped being saved. Overall, if you want something to get started it's okay, but for the long term, there are several other options that are better and free, and you can pay like $40 for a scale on Amazon that does much more than lark.

Free scale, but the "coach" is just an annoying bot

The only positive about this program is the free scale and BP monitoring. Otherwise, the app is useless and the "coach" you chat with is nothing but an unhelpful bot with pre-programmed annoying (and honestly, childish) responses. You can't actually request help from a coach and type your own replies. The calorie counts are way off and I keep getting "this food has too much sodium" messages about recipes I make myself with NO sodium. I was told my protein shake was high in sodium, but it doesn't even have sodium. This is nothing like Myfitnesspal, which has the actual, correct nutritional data and that portion of the app is totally useless. I haven't received any information on how to lower my BP whatsoever and the pre-programed responses like "woo!" and "yup" make me feel like I'm talking to someone who is 18. Do yourself a favor and just buy yourself a scale and a BP cuff. The app provides nothing useful and I can't believe my insurance company is paying for this!
