What am I paying for?

Against my better judgement I am goaded by my Estate Agent into using Landmark for AML verification for which I am billed, then it is all DIY, I should have known it was a scam when they demand payment from the off. They ask for all kinds of identification and personal information, all the things that my bank tells me not to disclose to any third party. When I looked at the reviews for Credas, their software provider it's mostly bad news so I'm wondering just how secure from hacking out my personal data the Landmark website is.
