Shocking customer service

We rented 5 lodges as big family holiday. Each lodge we stayed at was not as describe.
But one was extremely miss leading. There was numerous H&S issues (massive hole in the decking) and cleaning issuesppAs well as the washing machine/ dishwasher/ hoover / toaster broken or missing. This wouldn’t be a problem if was dealt with. But we was told that they are just a booking agent - was told this continuously. But they wouldn’t give the lodges owners details to raise the issues. We asked to be moved but again. They are just a booking agent and the owners refused.
Personally would not book through Lake District lodges again. As if you are unlucky to have any issue they are unwilling to help as the are again just the ‘booking agent’

Derwent Lodge , Burnside Park , Keswick

Derwent Lodge , Burnside Park, Keswick is a wonderful wonderful retreat - this is ideally placed for exploring surrounding areas, near and far - the lodge itself was spotless , extremely comfortable and full of all the necessary appliances required to make for the perfect break away. The milk, plum loaf , jam and more was a lovely touch.
Only suggestion would be to perhaps put a gate on the top of the stairs of the decking - there was a couple of dogs who ran up and onto it . Perhaps supply a fan in case we have another heat wave like this - but no biggy - I’ll remember to pack one for our next visit.
We thought the situation of Derwent Lodge (particularly) was superb, The outdoor space , decking and garden, was ideal for our three and a half year old . Overall can’t wait to return. The fighter jets flying overhead was another bonus that our toddler is still talking about .
Local pub - “the pheasant inn” - made food to die for. Keswick lake boat trip and surroundings, Hope park , Ravenglass and Eskdale Steam Railway , Puzzling Place are just a few places I’d highly recommend visiting

Shocking!

Shocking !
Avoid this agency, they cancelled our holiday to White Cross Bay within 12 hours of us travelling after we’d booked about 10 weeks in advance.. We were informed the owner of the lodge had not replaced decking and therefore could no longer accommodate us on the site. Alternatives offered were houses in remote villages as opposed to Windemere. Still awaiting the £149.90 compensation (joke, they’ve no compassion for the disappointment they caused our family, let alone the inconvenience).
Customer care team have been rude, abrupt and down right unprofessional. I’ve emailed and called numerous times but no one has listened.
They basically don’t care.
Would never again book with them or recommend ☹️

I have been booking through Lake…

I have been booking through Lake District lodge holidays for 7 years now, sometimes returning in the same year and we have loved every minute of it. We always stay at White Cross Bay.
We have recently come back from staying at white cross bay in what was advertised as a "new lodge" which was called Langdale Lodge. Well I can guarantee you the lodge wasn't new.
Upon arrival there were many issues which I raised straight away. Far too many to go into and I must have made 7 to 8 phonecalls throughout the week trying to get things resolved especially the heating as the Thermostat in one of the bedrooms was snapped off. We are in December, should the owner not have checked this before letting out the lodge? His reply was use the Thermostat on the wall. Amazing response and great customer service.
Sykes cottages are just as horrendous. I will be returning to white cross bay as we do every year but will definitely not stay in that lodge again and will not be booking through Lake District lodge holidays now Sykes. We even left our holiday a day earlier because I couldn't bear looking at the things that were wrong and basically just being left with it.
When I asked them to speak to the owner to try and resolve the issues he basically said he wasn't compensating us and advised there was dog poo on the decking and nappies left in the lodge upon our departure.
My dog never once went to the toilet on the decking as that is so unhygenic and I don't use nappies as my son uses the toilet. He is 4.
Also this is the same dog that they had said I'd not booked on even though I have proof on email and they were happy enough to take the charge for her. Absolute disgrace from start to finish. Hope they are all proud of themselves the company and the owner lying and trying to make out I left the property with my dogs mess and nappies that I don't even use. If anything the property was cleaner and tidier when I left it.
Even parkdean got involved and advised they would send their maintenace to have a look for us as no lodge should be rented out in the state ours was. Absolutely desgraceful and when I ask for their complaints procedure I just get an email saying the case is now closed.
The owner of the lodge has emailed them saying all our issues were resolved whilst we were there which was the biggest lie. I phoned on Friday to my frustration again to be told everything had been sorted. I had the Thermostat in my hand at this point so I was very surprised to hear this. I was then told there was a Thermostat on order and it couldn't be fitted till next week. Whoever has gone in the property today I feel sorry for. Absolutely horrendous.

Sykes Cottages have ruined Lake District Lodge Holidays

Recently visited Limefitt as we do twice a year - excellent as always. Re-booked for November only to see on my booking confirmation that the booking fee is now £49.00 and they have removed the 5% loyalty discount they used to apply for returning customers. I notice they have been taken over by Sykes Cottages which completely answers my questions. I have finally managed to speak to someone who told me that they would not do anything for me as a loyal customer, I have been booking with Lake District Lodge Holidays for nearly six years without an issue - I will not be booking with them again.
The manager wouldn't take my call when I asked to be put through - Damian at Sykes Cottages hang your head in shame, it is disgraceful you didnt have the common decency to take my call....steer clear of Sykes Cottages shocking customer service, its such a shame for Lake District Lodge Holidays though.... I will continue to visit Limefitt but through another company.

Disappointing customer service

Used this company several times now and always found them to be efficient and professional, until I had a query on my recent stay and I was disgusted at their response. Upon arrival at the lodge I discovered that they hadn't left any dishwasher tablets as normal, however, when I queried this was told I was left some in a 'welcome pack' (no such thing in the lodge) and if I want anymore go buy some! As I don't have a dishwasher at home it would've been very costly to buy a box. I feel aggrieved that I couldn't make full use of the facilities I had paid for, and if this is the service to expect from them now then we'll be renting elsewhere in future!

Lake District Lodge Holidays are crooks, stay clear

2023 Update. This was resolved, yes it was a pain but it was hard times for us all, I want to highlight that Lake District Holiday Lodges are a good company and I had a great time on each visit. Again initial review was during the madness of COVID

I understand small business and COVID and I would not hold this against the park as when I have stayed there it was some of the best holidays I have had, my refund experience was horrible but the park it’s self is amazing. May 2021
