Deletes threads when you prove all mechanics are robbing people blind.

Suggest it costs over £30,000 to keep a small shop running a year with no employees and no merchandise costs (to attempt to counter your proof that you are being robbed in a weasily way) and then deletes the thread because you prove otherwise. (it actually costs less than 10,000)

Basically it is provable that billed hours are systematically inflated by all mechanics by minimum 100% on major engine rebuild jobs done when you are not waiting in store and they do not like it known.

All they had to do was disprove me, not wipe the thread, they couldnt so they attempted to make excuses.

All mechanics i have visited are booked solid 2 weeks to a month ahead and they claim it is justified to not display accurate hours because of the lack of customers.

If they just displayed the right hourly rate instead of cheating I wouldnt be bothered. How can an engine rebuild consisting of less than 30 steps take up to 1.5 hours per step? Just think about it.

24 to 48 hours is the estimate by professional mechanics on a simple two stroke removal strip and rebuild/refit.
The people doing it at home are doing it in 8 to 16 hours.

Something stinks and no one admits to letting one rip.

All dissenters are silenced

If you are interested in rebuilding your own engine, a press for the bearings is around £100 and a few small tools cost little vs a 1200-1500 labour bill.
