What has happened to Kmart
What has happened to Kmart? It looks like an overflow shop. You can’t find anything you see online, in ads etc etc The stores are a flaming mess and totally under resourced to provide any kind of customer experience. On line is worse. You just don’t get it coz their delivery partners couldn’t care less and CS just keep on saying - take it up with the carrier. No Kmart you take it up with the carrier. We list 164.00 order and still no cs
I brought x2 diffusers delivered
I brought x2 diffusers delivered . Highly recommend this product, sounds amazing like rain and excellent price .
Awful website
Navigating Kmarts customer service site to report a missing item was awful. Finding the right box to tick was difficult and then waiting to live chat with a real person took ages. The issue was finally resolved but I think the website needs to be more customer friendly.
90% of staff at the Mirrabooka store…
90% of staff at the Mirrabooka store don't give a crap. I asked four different people where an item was located, and they all just said I don't know in a very indifferent manner. They made no attempt to help me. I was lucky to eventually find one lovely and helpful employee who personally walked me to where the item was located. That's one employee out of five. The store obviously doesn't train their employees in customer service. Shame on the store manager, you clearly don't care that your staff have no customer service skills. But a big thank you to the one kind staff member who helped me in the end.
Never order online for pick-up in-store…
Never order online for pick-up in-store with K-mart again. Some items not available even if offered for that store online, got repaid. One item over a week apparently coming from another store...still waiting. No notifications at all. Chat and email not available, phone only automated message. NOT ever again.
From Good to Poor in a matter of months
Gone from a good shopping experience to poor in a matter of months. I have been a customer for many years, as well as a onepass member, and purchase quite alot of items from Kmart as I live in a rural town. Until a few months back I had no issues with Kmart, they always fulfilled orders and naturally if something was out of stock, you couldn't add it to cart. But now, things comes up as in stock, you add to cart and checkout, the next day, they cancel the order, over and over and over. In the last 2 months I have had at least 6-8 orders cancelled with little to no explanation. After making a complaint I am still waiting for a response to this day. Kmart just seems to not give a crap about customer service anymore, and whatever the issue is moving forward, it seems many people are having the same issues. I have now cancelled my onepass as I only ever used it to order from Kmart online and after this horrendous experience with this company, I refuse to order anything from them online moving forward. My family has also done the same thing, my sister and mum cancelled their onepass and won't be ordering online either. Seems Kmart just doesn't care about customers or listening to the issues facing them and instead puts it all in the "too hard basket".
Got my kitchen utensils from here
Got my kitchen utensils from here. Was pretty impressed with the quality. Just with the price. Places like big w are slightly cheaper.
Pure disappointment, Won't buy from Kmart online again.
kmart online used to be great but it is horrible now. Don't even think you can go into the store and ask for help, their reply is always "We cannot handle any online order issue, we do not have access, you have to contact the online order team yourself. The onlie Team:
1. the online chat is not handle by human, the AI is never ending loop, when you ask for live agent, you wait for over an hour still no one connected, then hours later, the live agent said Hi....., then said you are disconnected from the chat, saying you can contact the team again (which means you have to wait all over again), they end the conversation without looking at the information, the photos and issues that you already sent to them, never response to those. The phone number is another joke, I was on the phone for over an hour waiting for someone to answer, no one does. Just simply horrible, no customer service, no after sale help. 0 Star if there is a choice. 1 order split into 4 parcel across 4 days wait and I had to make myself available to sign for all these parcels that comes in 5 different days. In the past, you can find real human online to deal with issues, you can call and someone would answer within a reasonable time, NOW? HOPELESS.
I bough a TV unit on August 2025 but…
I bough a TV unit on August 2025 but the order was wrong so requested a refund. I labelled the product to be collected. The product was collected but it’s been almost two months and I haven’t received the money yet. The CX team hasn’t contact me yet event though I submitted another enquire. Pretty disappointing service.
Price Discrepancy Between Shelf Display and Checkout Machine
On 23 October 2025, I purchased a Quadcopter from Kmart West Lakes. The shelf displayed a price of $25, which influenced my decision to buy the product. However, when I scanned it at the self-checkout machine, the price showed as $29.
I raised this issue with a store executive, who initially denied any discrepancy. I stood firm, and after verifying the shelf label, he confirmed that it indeed displayed $25. The price was then manually corrected to match the displayed amount.
This is the third time I have encountered such an issue at this store. It caused unnecessary inconvenience and wasted time, while also highlighting a serious lack of pricing accuracy, something that can easily lead to customer distrust.
Nevertheless, I went ahead with the purchase and have retained the receipt and other proof of this discrepancy. Kmart should take immediate steps to ensure shelf prices and checkout prices always match, to maintain transparency and trust with customers.
Note to customers: Please double-check the prices before paying.
I registered for notifications for…
I registered for notifications for certain products I've been looking for. I received emails telling me the products I'm looking for is back in stock. All untrue. Every item I enquired about has NOT been returned to stock. I find this very frustrating when I've been told 1 thing and it's not correct. Kmart needs to update their procedure and make sure that the details are correct before they send out emails. Very disappointed and frustrated customer.
Kmart need better stock control
Kmart need better stock control, ways to keep website updated and human customer online service. Simples!!!
Maddington Kmart WA
I attended Kmart Maddington ( WA ) today and was really disappointed. Never have I see a store in such disarray. Empty shelves, countless items on the floor, huge stock racks in the middle of aisles so you couldnt get to the items you wanted to view. Items in the ladies section too high to select because the hanging rails were so high up. Certainly the messiest and the worst store I've been to in Australia.
Customer service at Northlakes Kmart
Just went to the Northlakes Kmart, was in there buy a bike the only one available was already assembled and lock to the rack, ask a young staff member how do we go about buying it, was told you need to pay for it first, no problems, I asked do I just rip the tag off and take it to checkouts was told yes that should do it. Walking back to the bike I asked an older staff member the same thing she came and unlocked the bike and we went and paid for it. After paying for it we tried to exit the store with receipt in hand and was told it needed to be scanned, it was then snatch out of my hand, a few words were said, then I had to snatch the receipt back and was told if I didn’t like it I could shop somewhere else. If that is Kmarts customer service I think I will start shopping some where else.
Worst non-existent customer service
If you never need customer support, Kmart is fine. but if you ever need their customer service, it's non existent. Bought online and opted for click and collect (supposedly ready by the next day). It has been 1 week with no news. Went to physical store to request to cancel as I found the item online. They said I can only cancel online. But when I try cancelling online, there is only the AI chat with never understands what I'm trying to say. Absolute rubbish
Kmart Australia lift your game
I strongly recommend that the Kmart's Website's product availability 'In/Out of Stock' indicator is sorted out for the benefits of Kmart customers. More times than not, although a product shows that it is infact available in my local Maroochydore store it has not been. I have raised the problem with Kmart, and their attitude has always been, "tell someone who cares!". I have on many, many occasions had waisted journeys to my local Kmart store because of trusting the Kmart websites product available indicator only to find once at the store that the particular product that I am wanting to purchase is infact not in stock.
I had checked the company’s website to see if the particular type of dog bed that I was wanting to purchase, Pet Mattress Orthopaedic - Extra Large, Grey, was in available at local Kmart store. The ‘In Store In Stock’ indicator told me that the product was in stock when infact when I arrived at the store to purchase the product it was not in stock.
Apparently, Kmart Australia cares not that a customer has in all good faith accepted the reliability of their website’s ‘In/Out of Stock’ indicator and travelled to their local store only to find that they had been misled by Kmart Australia as the product is not in stock.
Kmart Australia needs to continually up the company’s current stock level in stores systems inventory thus giving the customer a far better customer service.
PET TOY MLTI BRAID (4)
Gave to my Moodle and he already chewed pieces off within 5 minutes of having it
Rubbish Halloween display
My review is not of Kmart itself - I like Kmart - what I don’t like is the Victoria point store shoving Halloween down my throat and displaying highly inappropriate merchandise when you enter the store. It scares my little boys and I constantly have to cover their eyes. Yes… I could not come to Kmart but why not have this stuff in the corner somewhere not easily seen by young kids. I’ve complained to Kmart but they have done nothing.
Ordered 6 items for $274
Ordered 6 items for $274, the person who packaged the items decided instead of putting the delicate items in a box they'd put it in a bag, 5 of the 6 items were damaged.
Instead of taking responsibility for their poor employees choice's they claimed they'd only do a 30% refund because it was box damage on collectible's. I will not pay this price for damaged items and asked for a return shipping label and they told me because it's just box damage that the cost of shipping would fall on me, mind you this isn't change of mind this is damaged products that they charged me $245 for (5 of the 6 collectibles).
I am appalled with the customer service I received and now won't return to this company.
Product exchange policy hidden on purpose?
Purchased a foundation 2 days ago which, when I got it home and tried it, was the wrong color.
Asked for an exchange 2 days later when I could get back to the store, and they pointed to a bit of paper stuck on the service desk at the very back of the store saying their store policy is they don't exchange cosmetics.
I explained that I barely touched the product and, THEY DON'T HAVE TESTERS so how can I know whether or not I have the right colour until I open it? The customer service said it's related to hygiene and policy of the store. I spoke with a Manager who shrugged her shoulders and again said it's store policy. She said Myer has the same policy, to which I replied that Myer has testers available. She said I understand but it's store policy and she doesn't know why they don't have testers. Think I can guess. It's similar to why we don't get shopping bags provided any more, and why we are doing our own checkout.
The so-called store policy on no exchanges on cosmetics DOES NOT NOT APPEAR ANYWHERE in or near the Beauty section or anywhere else in the store as far as I can see. When I mentioned this the customer service attendant said we can't go pasting the store policy all over the store. I said, actually yes you can and you should.
One only finds out when one tries to exchange a product at the customer service counter at the very back of the store, that one cannot exchange a product that is not suitable for use. Oh, and that store policy? It's typed up on a small piece of A4 paper, sticky taped to the service desk at the very back of the store.
How am I supposed to know what color foundation to get if they don't have any testers and I simply have to guess looking at a bottle? There are so many options.
The item I purchased was minimally touched and the packaging is in new condition. Its perfectly clean and re-sellable, or they can discard it at very little cost to do so. Considering they will have a satisfied return customer rather than a customer who can spend thousands a year just not return to their store at all. That's more costly to them, no?
Resolution would be for store to:
1. PROVIDE TESTERS for ALL makeup products.
2. Make it very clear AT THE BEAUTY SECTION and anywhere in a section they have such a policy, that there are no exchanges on items in that section.
3. Refund or exchange a product when it can’t be used for its normal purpose due to being the wrong colour.
Sneakily, their store policy places the list of items they won't exchange, under the section on change of mind, but I'm not changing my mind as I do want the foundation; I just want it in the right color for me.
Kmart went broke and shut all its stores in the US whilst I was living there and I can see the same thing happening to Kmart here in Australia in due course if they don't get their act together.
Kmart and staff behave as though customers are powerless. I've lodged a formal complaint with the Australian Consumer Protection authority. In Australia, consumers are not powerless.
We have a right to protection when stores operate with unfair business practices. I believe this is clearly one of those times.
