kitchen aid missing repair and not returned items after nearly a year

The worst company to deal with for complaints and faulty equipment. We have been waiting for the repair of our mixer for over 12 months. after many calls and emails, there was no progress and constant false reassurance from friendly but useless staff who have no knowledge of what needs to be done. smoke and mirrors. I consider this theft.

KitchenAid Customer Service Is Very Problematic

While I love my KitchenAid appliances, their customer service is very problematic and non-responsive. I purchased a counter top mixer from them and needed to return it. It took them almost six weeks to process my return. In the end, they did not actually refund my credit card but charged me again. I have now called their customer service multiple times, experienced incredibly long wait times, and they are not able to resolve the matter. They are telling me that they have refunded it, never charged twice, and the problem is with my credit card company. We have finally decided, after too many hours of frustration, to dispute the charges and simply not purchase directly from them again.

SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE!!

The WORST experience I have had in all my years of buying appliances!! Bought a KitchenAid refrigerator, paid $3,000, and ONE MONTH LATER the water reservoir burst pouring water all over the inside of refrigerator and floor.
We are still waiting to have part shipped to be repaired. It's been broken longer than it worked. My husband has called Customer Service 4-5 times, to be on hold for 30+ minutes to only be told, "you need to call back in 3-5 days."
Over and over and over again. We are reporting to the Better Business Bureau and possibly FTC.
Please, please heed people's poor reviews, they are spot on to how horrible this company has become, subpar parts, and the absolute WORST customer service a person can experience.
Save yourself the headache. We thought we were avoiding a problem by not purchasing another Samsung product, were we ever wrong!!!

Same defect three times

Same defect three times – disappointing quality

We received a KitchenAid Diamond Blender as a gift in September 2021. After less than two months of normal use, the blender started making a loud rattling noise. It was sent for repair, where we were told that a screw in the motor had come loose.

Around two years later the exact same issue happened again and the blender had to be repaired once more.

Now the same defect has occurred for the third time – again a loose screw in the motor.

It is very disappointing that a product in this price range repeatedly fails with the exact same defect, especially when the first failure happened after such a short time. This suggests a possible design or manufacturing issue.

I have contacted KitchenAid customer service and hope they will resolve this issue.

NO customer service!

Wish I had 0 star option. No way can I contact the service department. Tried chat, calling, 3 separate emails, calling again. ("your call will be answered in 30 sec"- time and time again). I don't know what else to do. The new item I got for Christmas does not work. (attachable food processer to attach to the mixer.)
A lot of wasted money for a name brand that I thought I could trust. Never again will I buy Kitchenaid.

KitchenAid Forever...well almost!

In February of 1998 I bought a KitchenAid side-by-side refrigerator to install in our new house. Little did I know that I would not have to part with it until February, 2026 when it finally stopped working. I doubt I will ever have another refrigerator to last 28 years. KitchenAid...you made it to last. Thanks!

My mother purchased a Kitchenaid gas…

My mother purchased a Kitchenaid gas cooktop $2300.00 from Home Depot for a gift for a remodeling project at my house. Because the cooktop was not open and inspected when I received the gift. Now that a gas regulator did not come with the new cooktop because it was not called in the 30-day window. They will not replace it. (So much for quality control and inspection with manufacturing when a product leaves) I have to purchase this part. If you call the Tennessee customer sorry care group, they can't help you. There is nothing in writing that states you have to call the customer sorry care group within 30 days. They have no proof that the regulator was attached when it was shipped out. However, we have to take their word.
I would never buy another KitchenAid product. The TN Customer service is not their specialty or the make of their products!

2025 kitchen aid fridge

We purchased the matching kitchen aid appliances at the end of December 2025. Not even a month later the fridge wasn’t getting cool. If I could give a -2 review I would.
Called for service under warranty, waited 3 weeks for an appointment. Service associate was great, professional, only temporarily fixed the problem. He came back 1 week later to look at serial numbers and parts( still not working) Company sent out a part finally, 3 weeks again for a service appointment. Service associate came to fix and was set the wrong part. NOW MARCH 3, 2026 STILL NO WORKING FRIDGE.
We asked about replacing the unit, was told by customer service, We didn’t have the proper warranty, we only have parts and service. WHAT A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! We have had to toss food out and we store life saving medication in the fridge, was also told they wouldn’t cover anything tossed. The fridge alone was a couple thousand dollars, you would think it would work properly! VERY DISAPPOINTED, kitchen aid was my favorite.

Bought a Kitchen aid dishwasher from…

Bought a Kitchen aid dishwasher from Lowe’s back in September 2025. In January 2026(4 months later) it wouldn’t drain and was giving me the error code related to the drain pump. Called in to submit a warranty repair and the soonest they could get a repair scheduled was a month. So I wait a month for the repair guy to come, and he doesn’t have the right part with him, so now I have to wait 3 more weeks for him to come back. Called back into Kitchenaid to see if there was another option. Three different people from Kitchenaid all told me the same thing. That I had no other option than to wait. I would caution anyone reading this against buying an appliance from the Kitchenaid/Whirlpool family. Having to wait 2 months for a repair on an appliance that I’ve only had for 4 months is crazy and I can’t believe that they think that is ok. I will personally never buy another appliance again from any of the brands they own.

Kitchenaid have failed to stand by…

Kitchenaid have failed to stand by their product on multiple occasions with me. If you want a major appliance that you can have faith in and know that it will get fixed if it goes wrong…..don’t buy a Kitchenaid.

Refunds take 2 months

I hate complaining about businesses, but buyer beware. I wish I had known that Kitchen Aid is not a reliable company.

The situation: I returned a Kitchen Aid in early January. It was delivered January 9th. We are currently at Feb 24th and I have still not received my refund. I called, and the receptionist who answered said they "were closed for the holidays" and I should wait another 3 weeks for my refund. I'm sorry- what holidays? Valentine's Day?

I've never seen a company treat returns with such disregard. My questions is, had I not called, would they have ever sent the refund? Or just assumed that the customer isn't looking and kept the payment.

I would have liked to have known this before purchasing from Kitchen Aid. I hope this will help others as well.

Not worth the cheaper prices

They somehow managed to omit part of my address to the courier - spent 6 hours at home waiting for delivery, 45 minutes on hold with the courier to find out why delivery was cancelled and an hour on hold with Kitchenaid to initiate a refund, so I could buy from Breville instead. Which I should have done in the first place. Pay now or pay later. Awful company.

Whirlpool / KitchenAid – Long-Time Customer Warning

Long-time KitchenAid customer here. My entire kitchen is KitchenAid. For nearly 30 years, we trusted this brand because the products were solid and dependable. That trust has now been completely shaken.

In January, I purchased a new KitchenAid dishwasher (Model KDTS424SPS, Serial FE4303041) for approximately $1,660. The first unit failed during the installation test cycle and was confirmed defective by the technician. It was removed and replaced.

The replacement unit initially appeared to run normally. However, during only the second real household use, the dishwasher emitted a strong, pungent burning plastic smell mid-cycle that quickly filled my entire home. I had to shut it off immediately due to safety concerns.

A Whirlpool-authorized technician later explained that this model contains exposed heating element rods. According to him, lightweight plastic items can shift or fall during a wash cycle and come into contact with the exposed heating elements, causing them to burn.

In a normal family household, especially one with children, this is not a minor inconvenience. It is a serious design concern. Dishwashers are household appliances. Plastic items are common. Children help unload dishes. Burning plastic fumes filling a home is not acceptable, particularly in a premium appliance at this price point.

What has been equally disturbing is the customer service response.

Whirlpool’s solution was to send a technician and offer a discount toward another purchase. No replacement. No refund. No meaningful accountability.

After spending hours on hold, receiving no returned supervisor calls, and being told that the warranty covers parts only, I am left with a $1,600 appliance that I do not feel safe using in my own home.

This is already the second dishwasher within a single month. Additionally, a Whirlpool microwave purchased in December is now making unusual sounds. The pattern is troubling.

If you are contemplating purchasing Whirlpool or KitchenAid appliances, I strongly encourage you to do extensive research before making a decision. The product quality and post-purchase support do not match the premium pricing.

I also encourage consumers to review the complaint history on the Better Business Bureau website and look at the volume of consumer filings. It is important to understand how issues are handled after the sale is complete.

Based on my experience, once the purchase is made, resolving serious product concerns becomes extremely difficult.

Proceed carefully.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS JUNK!!

STAY AWAY FROM THIS JUNK!!!
We spent some very serious money completely remodeling with KitchenAid appliances. Fridge, microwave, oven, induction cooktop, dishwasher and hood vent. With the exception of the hood vent, we have had repairs done to every item. The induction was cross wired at the factory (should have been recalled), the fridge, oven and microwave have had to be repaired multiple times. The dishwasher in now being repaired for the third time. This is the worst junk ever! As a property manager, I tell everyone I can KitchenAid products are a JOKE!!

Double oven door switch.

I just paid a service company over $600 to repair our double oven. Turns out the 2 rivets holding the door-close switch failed presumably during a self cleaning cycle. The rivets appear to be aluminum (not great for extended exposure to high heat). Cost to redesign this mechanism has to be in the $.05 range which is a small price to pay for massively improved brand trust. PS all 3 techs I talked to recommended never using the self-cleaning feature. I’m an engineer and product manager. I would be embarrassed to let this design ever leave the CAD phase.

If I could give a -10 I would. Absolutely pointless 1 hr 15 min wait. Don't waste your time! First question she asked after listening to me tell her the oven didn't heat up when on bake mode was "which rack was your food on"

No response from Customer service

I have requested confirmation from Pavlos in Kitchen Aid customer service that he has received both the receipt and video of the faulty item, I done this twice and still waiting for their response. This is awful lack of care for the customer, I'm not holding out any hope of getting my problem resolved despite it's under the manufacturers GUARANTEE
