They are scammers

They are scammers! My tenant called them as she couldn't open the door. They charged 50 straight away. Then they gave me a call and said in total would be around 400, which is an insane amount considering it just needed a new lock! However, I accepted to proceed. Total bill came as 658,8, with lines as "Labour for open door by force 180; Labout for fitt matt. 80; LAbour for fit the mechanics 50.

I kept challenging these additional charges but he was not leaving the property/ my tenant until the payment was sent. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

good service excessive cost

The person came quickly .. I am elderly and alone and did not have luxury of comparison.
i was guttural in that he did make a good attempt to use the existing lock and asked me if i was happy before proceeding to drilling out old lock replacing cutting into door jamb to fit well and finishing the job neatly and sweeping up etc. I eould give him 10/10 for the work but I felt it was too high cost. i had no idea how high but that was down to 24H and not the excellent engineer.
with reflection i see that the co took advantage of my helplessness financially but otherwise my problem was solved quickly.

Charged £426 for a call out and new lock

It's a bank holiday Monday and I reached out for an emergency call out.
The locksmith arrived immediately said he'd have to drill through the lock.
On the phone I explained that the lock was a basic lock- whilst it was higher security, it was on the lower end of high security locks.

Initially on the phone I was told that it would be £75 for the call out fee. When I asked for a full quote on the phone I was told that I had to wait and see what the locksmith said because they needed to see the lock itself.
In the end I was charged £75 for the call out, £160 to open the door and £120 for a new basic lock....plus VAT.
I was desperate to get in as I wasn't feeling well so under pressure I took the quote.
The locksmith himself was super efficient and did a great job, but I've been massively overcharged for less than £30 mins work and when I called back to discuss the final charge, there was no support.

Do yourself a favour and if you can afford to wait a little while, call around and get a better quote.

Utterly appalled

Utterly appalled at the lack of humanity this company has shown in their actions. To scam someone at their weakest and most vulnerable, spiking up the price point more than 5x the original amount, making them pay for more than 1500+ pounds for a change of locks.

I will make sure to bring my keys and wear my shoes when I leave my door to bring a package in now, at least.

They might get away with it for a while but fate doesn't turn a blind eye and will remember it forever.

They may say it's not them, or the one BBC featured, but they're doing the exact same things.

Overpriced, take advantage.

Charged 1.3k, read the rest of the reviews here, obviously an awful company to do business with, can confirm that they take advantage wherever necessary, charged over 600 for just a new lock, and lied about the pricing, increasing by 400. Stay well clear.

Overpriced work

Where to start, I was locked out of my flat after leaving my keys inside, locksmith came out promptly and took a look at the lock and proceeded to look at it before telling me it was a high security lock and therefore needed drilling and replacing. Didnt even try to pick the lock, just went straight for the drilling option.

He fiddled around with what looked like a chisel to take the outer part of the lock off and then drilled the lock out before replacing it. The price i was told at the start was £289 for the lock and then £70 for labour which I thought was high but as an emergency was happy to pay this. He then told me he needed to replace with a high security lock which would cost an extra £499. I left him to it and he was on the phone to some one speaking in a foreign language so I cant be sure what was said.

He told me he was done after and started writing out the invoice and asked if I was ok to pay via transfer. He then finished adding it up and charged me £1750 for the total job including £280 of VAT. This included £289 labour for opening the door, £299 for fitting the new lock, £189 or extra labour as it wasn't a standard re-fit and as mentioned before £499 for the new lock which I have since found online for £35.

I paid the money as I felt uncomfortable with the locksmith in my flat if I said no. I have emailed and called the company to ask for a refund, the operator told me to write an email. I am yet to get a response but am not expecting anything back.

Overall, this is clearly a scam and writing this review so that other don't fall victim to the company

KNOW SCAMMERS

KNOW SCAMMERS - there has been an article in the Guardian about this type of operation - over £800 for a broken lock! The worst is they were sent by Fantastic Services - avoid at all costs!

Charged £580 to replace a lock for an out of hours call out. Quoted £60 on the phone.

Making this review a bit late because I am still annoyed about it, after reading some news articles about this scam!

Didn't really feel I had a choice at the time as I was locked out, but upon reflection this was likely a scam. Luckily I saved the bill.

Breakdown on the bill:

Out of hours charge £83
Labour to open the door £180
New lock £257
Labour to fit the lock £49

I checked the model of lock they fitted and it costs £35 from a wholesaler, a 700% markup.

Please avoid this company, the owner has clearly paid for fake reviews here, all the real ones are 1 star.

Rip off!

I was locked out of my flat at 2230 hours and called the first locksmith on the list.
No quote was given, but because I was outside of my flat ( the door locked automatically behind me), I was glad someone could come.
He then just drilled the door then turned round and quoted £1700 - I don't have that kind of money and had work in the morning so was stuck. No written quote was given and he then charged me £900. I felt I had no choice but to pay it. I sent a letter of dispute which was ignored and have raised the matter with my bank.
I am also contacting trading standards!
Since it happened I have found out that the maximum I should have been charged was £300.

A highly disreputable company who plays on the vulnerable !

These people are absolute crooks

These people are absolute crooks. They tell you a price then take payment and only give you the receipt afterwards where they have ticked a box to say you agreed to a much higher price. Totally dishonest and I have reported them to trading standards. They get aggressive when you tell them you did not agree to the higher price. They prey on vulnerable people. Avoid them at all costs.

Not impressed.

Returned from hospital to discover lock had jammed. Called these people. After half an hour Marius arrived. Replaced the lock but it appears to be used not new. Rim loose. Charged £900!! I gather from previous reviewers he may be a scammer but not sure. He was supposed to return this morning to fix the loose rim but no sign of him.

Contacted 24H Locksmith as I could not get out my gate entrance. Was quoted £75.00 call out over the phone and I asked for rough price, which he couldn’t tell me, that alone should have been a red flag. When he arrived he quoted £75.00 + £289.00 + 20% vat to remove the lock , then another £200+ for new lock. The locksmith even suggested a better lock, which would be £800+. I ended up just paying to open lock. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID - SCAMMERS. If feel completely violated.

Scammers

I'm totally stunned by the attempt to scam me out of an unnecessary amount of around £600!
My door lock was sticking a bit and becoming hard to lock. It wasn't an emergency but I wanted to get it sorted before it became a serious issue. I said this to the woman on the phone and she told me that to have the technician come over and re align my lock it would cost £75. When he arrived he straight away tried to get me to sign something to charge £49+VAT call out charge and £148+VAT labour costs. I told him what I had been quoted and refused this new amount so he begrudgingly agreed.
He then told me that I need a new lock. He said a less secure lock is £466+VAT and a more secure lock is £895+VAT. I had to believe him and just opted for the cheaper one. He replaced it. and the door mechanism was having exactly the same issue. He then proceeded to adjust and move the locking points on the doorframe until the issue was fixed. (Bear in mind that my door lock is not particularly fancy so both prices are astronomical, I now know after doing some research).
I could tell that the issue was clearly fixed by what he did after he replaced the lock so I asked him to try it with the original lock back in. He was not happy about it but did it anyway. It was perfect. The old lock worked perfectly. He tried to suggest that it wasn't as smooth so I tried it again and that was just not true at all.
He then said fine, and that he had to adjust the labour charge then back to what he was originally trying to charge me and add the call out fee, making out that putting in an unnecessary new lock and then taking it out again needed charging for. So I called the number to speak to the office and they said the best they could do was remove the call out fee.
I am outraged by the attempt at daylight robbery and would not recommend them to anyone. That one star is there because the door now works smoothly. So at least there is that.

Overpriced and poor work

Initially quoted £200 for a locksmith change, upon arrival this was increased to £816. I was in an emergency so had no choice but to agree.

Work was performed exceptionally badly with locks being misaligned and non functional. Lock that is normally priced at £25 was charged at £316.

Customer service very responsive but clearly used to these kind of messages and dragging feet to provide a refund.

Do not use.
