Absolutely all around awful!!

I would rate kays with zero stars if it was optional. We have been with kays for 10 years and just substantially upgraded my wedding ring set and purchased an all diamond bracelet. The bracelet and rings were too big so we had them sent in for sizing. I got the band and bracelet back but not the main ring because I was told the jeweler "broke it to the extent he couldn't fix it and it had to be sent back out to a professional to be foxed" the bracelet was put back together wrong after taking out links and broke as I was showing the manager and the band had a raised loose diamond so it also had to be sent back in. It's been over 30 days now and I don't have even one of the 3 items because of constant issues on their end! The manager admitted to not checking the jewelry when it came back in but assured me they sent it out to a "more professional, experienced jeweler this time around" absolutely unacceptable and ridiculous!

Can I give zero stars

Can I give zero stars? Ring I ordered never left the store and they won’t give me my money back. My 82 year old dad was paying, they don’t care. The utter incompetence is astonishing. Don’t order from this company!!

Bought a 600 dollar chain that broke 6…

Bought a 600 dollar chain that broke 6 times since 12/ 22 . Promised new chain by two different people. Nope. Supposed to talk to First Lady that told me this . And was supposed to be today. Have another lady call and deny me a new chain. Solder marks are very apparent and they lied twice. They do not honor what they sell but say they will. I am embarrassed to wear it and told them so . Also told that was breaking because of pendant being on it . Was on it when I bought it. Then cause I had problems with it I got threatened with mall security. I would not recommend this place to anyone. liars. Let’s hear your response Kay. Threatening me because I don’t appreciate your lies. You wouldn’t like it if shoe was on other foot. So basically 1000 with pendant and now I have a chain with 6 bad solders. People there should be highly ashamed of themselves. I would give them a 0 but won’t let me my conscience would not let me treat people like that. Let’s hear why Kay. Why do you lie. Not once but 3 times. I can’t stand your store or any of you people. Miserable deceitful people .Let’s hear your excuses Kay employees. Just face it . You sell cheap , low quality crap.!!!!!’ You make me feel like 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮hate you all with a passion. Go pound sand ipeople. and your going to call security because I have a problem.

Poor Quality/ Misleading Advertising

My mom bought an $600 opal ring for me in November 2022. She purchased the lifetime warranty on this ring. Within a few months the opal turned a hideous yellow color. I took it back to the store to have the opal replaced, and they inform me there is nothing they can do. Opals are not covered under the warranty. My mom not given a warning brochure or paper stating that this can happen to a ring purchased less than a year. I’ve simply worn the ring! Be careful with purchase from this company. They will not work with you at all!! Now I have a $600 piece of junk!!! Kay Jewelers do not seem to care about their customers.

5 days over

35 days ago, I ordered a ring. it took me more than 30 days to make the decision to like or not like the color. well, I decided on a different color. but because it was 5 days outside of the return window and used a third-party service to pay for the ring, I was told there was nothing they could do to help me. I am not a rich person or live in a big house. Instead, I am a blue-collar citizen and live paycheck to paycheck, but I make it work. I thought that because it was such a huge decision, I would be able to get some help. The local store said I needed to contact the online department because the week before (day 28) I contemplated some more about the color and decided to change it up. I could not long get some help. I called and chatted and was transferred. I expressed that not every person proposes within 30 days, they basically told me that it was too bad and that I needed to eat the cost regardless. there was no return or exchange option, even if it was the exact same ring but a different color, the cost wouldn't have changed. also, I forgot to mention that within the first week of having the ring in my possession, the price dropped by over $400.

Very pleased with the service and the items my husband has purchased at Kay's Jewelers. Mike at the Knightdale Kay's is very helpful. I loved the necklace he bought me for Christmas.

Beware!

If you're going here to get anything repaired, you might want to reconsider. We went in to get the gem on my ring fixed as it had chipped. We've done this before (at a different store) with no problem. Problems started when our warranty had apparently disappeared into thin air. After looking for a few minutes, the clerk (Brittany, I think) assured us we could still get the repair done at no charge (see pic) while another asked if we wanted to get the ring replated as well. Since we were told we wouldn't be charged we said yes to both even though we were more concerned about the gem being fixed. Ring went off for repairs, easy. However a few days later we got a call from the workshop saying that they couldn't work on the ring due to no warranty being attached to it. Okay? So we called the store manager, she said she would call the service center and get back to us.

Well, she never did. We had to go back into the store to ask what was going on. The whole conversation felt as though they couldn't be bothered with us, and we were just told that the store manager 'talked to service' (not from her own mouth) and they couldn't work on any part of the ring because they didn't do 'half services'. As in they can't replace the gem because they would need to do the replating and fix the prongs to do so (all of which is under our warranty they couldn't spend more than five minutes trying to help us find). Mind you, we only wanted the GEM fixed, not the replating. That was offered to us.

Even though they said the gem was covered on the warranty, they refused to do repairs. We asked if they could just send the ring back with a new gem (not installed) and we got a 'eh' at best. At that point we just asked for the ring back, and said we would be contacting the next day with info on when it would come in. They've had our ring for about 2.5 weeks at this point by the way.

We actually did get a call saying it would take 2-3 days to come in. Cool. Except four days went by with no call. I had to call on the fourth day to ask what was going on. The person who answered put me on hold for six minutes, saying she was going to talk to the same manger who had been 'helping' us this whole time. She cane back and said the ring was not coming until next week, days after we were told and no one called to even tell us. By this time I'm livid but, of course, it got more frustrating when we were on our way home and got a call that, go figure, the ring did come in and we could pick it up. Communication here is a joke. The cherry on top was that the same manager literally tried to sell us a new warranty for our 'fustrations' when we got there. None of this would have happened if our warranty had been found in the first place! They didn't even bother to call the previous store where we had gotten the work done before. They told us to like it wasn't even worth their time.

So my ring is still broken and Kay's has lost my respect. Be wary if you shop here!

Fudged a repair

I go to Kay for most things and have for years. However, last year I went to Kay shortly after we got engaged and before we went on our trip so my fiance could get his ring size and so I could have a necklace repaired. They were supposed to replace the clasp and fix the chain. I paid $60 for this 10k necklace repair, and I suspected they did not replace the clasp because I had the same problem after wearing once. I hung it up in my jewelry box and didn't wear it again til yesterday, and the necklace broke again where the "repair" was done. I have had many rings resized and such through Kay. This was the first time I ever had a repair done. Never again. I could have almost replaced the necklace for the cost of the "repair" they poorly did. Unfortunately now it has been to long for me to do anything. Extremely disappointed. I'm sending it away to be scrapped at this point.

Poor quality merchandise

I bought a ring at Christmas. I wore it everyday. It wasn't a real expensive ring. But I still didn't expect for 3 stones to fall out before it was 3 months old. I won't shop here again. I have another ring which didn't cost as much from another vender. After 21/2 years it still has all it's stone and I wear it everyday. I'll go back to them. Kay jewelers is a rip off

2 weeks ago a purchased a wedding ring for myself I had lost mine. The person working that day was awesome great experience. I picked up my ring today different person and the rudeness the joy of picking my ring up went out the window. I felt like returning it. I spent to much money to be treated this way. I asked for a ring box and she acted like I ruined her day. Southaven, MS.

Burglary….inside job…., maybe …

Recently my boyfriend lost his mother and inherited her belongings. He was elated to find the beautiful ring that his deceased father had worn daily and was designed and made by his mother. He decided he was gonna get it appraised and wanted to wear it because it was so special. Unfortunately it was too small, so he took it to Kays. His parents had purchased jewelry at Kay's for many years.
We went to Kays off hwy 20 on January 2 and dropped it off to have it appraised and sized. When the associate looked at his father‘s ring under what appeared to be a microscope, she made a comment that all seven diamonds were impeccable, and that it was a truly amazing ring. We bought a bracelet and an Opal ring for my daughter as well. We left the ring in their possession to be sized and appraised, and they told us they would contact us as soon as it came back from the appraiser.
Almost 6 weeks later, and after several attempts to reach them by phone, we went back to the store. We tell them why we’re there, and they start looking up our account. We were told they hadn't contacted us because my boyfriend's phone number was listed under another name; and they seemed generally disorganized and unprofessional. We were baffled because we have a Kays credit card, and have been there several times prior. Already frustrated....we were shocked when we were informed that a burglary had occurred, and my boyfriend's ring had been stolen on the 4th of January. We were literally in shock, and appalled that the nanager had no sympathy for a lost ring that meant so much to my boyfriend. He mentioned casually that other customers had lost pieces of jewelry in the theft worth much more than ours....as if that made our loss less traumatic! This situation became the most unprofessional experience of our lives! We were never notified about the incident. We were not given any insurance claim information. We were told the possibility of recovery was highly unlikely. The store manager showed total di
sregard for the loss of a ring that had immense sentimental value to my boyfriend. Beyond that, he took no responsibility for the monetary loss. It is beyond comprehension that any business manages to stay afloat when treating customers as we were treated.

I made the mistake of ordering at kays!!

I made the mistake of ordering a gold heart-shaped mother's necklace for my mother's birthday; with mine, my brothers and my mother's names on it next to each of our gemstones. The names were supposed to be in black so that you be able to see them. I called customer service (spoke with a nice lady). I wanted the necklace to be corrected and expedited back to me at kays expense. I was told that the company will not do that and they're told not to correct online orders. Never mind that I ordered it in January for a March birthday. And I paid for each name to be added on the necklace. I'm taking it back and requesting my monies be credited back to my credit card. By me not going to get to present it to my mother on her birthday, I ordered a similar necklace from ZALES!! To Be a MAJOR JEWELRY STORE, I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED. BUT I LEARNED MY LESSON. NEVER AGAIN!! THANKS kays¡¡¡

Beware of getting scammed!

Had ring sized up and when I got it back I told the sales lady that one of the small diamonds felt loose and out of place. She inspected it and said the prongs were all in place. Less than 3 months the stone fell out. I took my ring today to a local jewelry doctor to have it inspected to see how much to replace lost diamond and that another small Diamond on the other side felt like it was out of place how the one that fell out did. Was informed after inspection that the one I felt was going to fall out this time wasn’t even a Diamond that it had been replaced with a CZ!!! And that the prongs were loose on the top that held the main Diamond in place! I’ll never do business again with Kay’s!! Trust your gut! I knew something wasn’t right when I got it back!

Really didn’t want to give them 1 star

Really didn’t want to give them 1 star. Took my ring in that has lifetime warranty because it broke . They sent the ring out and then emailed me and said the ring was ready. So I went to store to pick it up and when they took it out of the bag it wasn’t repaired at all. The girl said, “ They said they couldn’t repair it!” Oh and we don’t carry that ring anymore. Really?? Do not go to Kay’s ! You would think they would have at least offered to make it right!!

Customer service is horrible and…

Customer service is horrible and grueling with a long wait time specifically at the Dadeland Mall in Miami. Don’t make the mistake of ordering rings for your wedding the month before or you may be at the altar without a ring like we were! I waited for 1.5 hours after I asked the rep to make a call. They had canceled the ring and were in the process of sending it back, even though we were there 6-days after they called and one of the rings had just arrived the day before. Doesn’t it make sense we would pick up all our rings at once? Each ring was in a different bin in different locations at the store. When they found the other ring, they didn’t even show it to me and told me that I should rebuy it even though a refund didn’t appear in our bank yet. We were left waiting for a refund and our ring was being held hostage. When asking for a rubber substitute ring, they charged us $40, not the same and overpriced. I wouldn’t even give 1 star, more like a -5. I was even told a story about how this happened to another groom a month earlier as a selling point.

#kay #kayjewelers bait and switch

#kay #kayjewelers I was bait and switched by this company. Toms River, Ocean County Mall, manager Octavio Dejesus and his crew lied to me. As I was shopping for my wife and mother-in-laws christmas gifts, I stopped in their business. The sales girl, who while bumbling at counter told me she was new, also told me that as long as I was over $350 in sales that there would be no interest for 6 months. I received a text reminding me of my payment so i went to the store and paid my $50.00 to the same girl. Then I receive a statement saying i never paid my monthly bill. Call up the number on the bill, thinking I'm calling Kay since their logo is on the envelope. I get Genesis FS, who is the bank that backs the stores credit line. Well, 1 of 2. But apparently they don't offer promotions where as the other does. Wondered why I didn't see this advertised in there but was then being talked to by the sales girl, I have been a customer here for about 10 years and been getting promotions since my first purchase, my engagement ring. I then go to Kay because they've always helped me with all my other needs. Then the manager, Octavio, who couldn't be less helpful as he approached the whole situation like he was going into a fight. His animosity and overall reaction to my request for some help just seemed like he had this argument before. Like its common practice here. I couldn't be less disappointed in Kay Jewelers. I will never buy a thing from this company again.
