Be wary of buying a Kampa tailgater tent

I bought a Kampa tailgater tent. It didn’t survive one 2 week trip. Rain got in, one of the poles split, and then we got a windy day and that was the end of it. The poles just bend to the wind and come apart, eventually ripping the fabric and poking through. Meanwhile, our other canvas tent, that is nearly 60 years old, is still standing and not a drop of water inside.

One of the Bladders popped 2 weeks ago when we were camping.
I got in touch with Kampa now Dometic to order a new one , only to be told that the bladder in question is not in stock and that they will not be getting anymore in !!.
So if anyone has this Awning with Blue cut off valves and is over 7 years old , you will not be getting any bladders for it , so like mine, if it pops, its then worthless. £1200 down the pan !! for an Awning that lasted less than 20 inflations !!

Croyde 6 Tent did not last - Expensive Spares

I purchased a Croyde 6 pole tent in 2019. We go camping once or twice a year, so haven't used it much. We always go in the summer, and so conditions have always been relatively calm.
This tent simply does it last. From the first use, the steel poles were difficult to pack away as many had twisted and locked together. A number of the roof poles have bent, and the springs holding them together have broken, so the poles have become unusable.
I needed to replace two of the curved roof poles, and to my horror they cost over £40, each plus £10 delivery. This is essentially 1/5 of the cost of the tent brand new.
I like the tent, but feel let down by the lack of availability and cost of spares.

Kampa Storm Tie Down Kit is Rubbish

I had to use the Kampa storm tie-down kit on my Kampa Rally Pro awning this week for the first time. It is awful! The pegs are useless and the first one bent after two hits with the mallet. I also use a Sunncamp awning. The tie-down kit for this is far superior, and cheaper, than the Kampa/Dometic one. So buy the Sunncamp kit and don't waste your money on the Kampa one

We have a Kampa action driveaway awning and it's excellent. I honestly can't fault it , it's a pole awning not air awning. We've used it 3 times now , easy to put up and down and it has the fitting on the awning to connect to our fiamma awning ..and it was cheap.

Have tried contacting Kampa to obtain spares for a pan set which has detachable handles of which two have failed, the spring and release button have both stopped working meaning my three pan set is reduced to a single handle. Sent emails on the only form they accept but they haven’t even bothered to reply, guess they want your business, just not on a repeat basis. Very poor customer service indeed
Just literally received an email from Kampa advising me they don’t stock spares for their pans! Guess I won’t be buying those again then

Hotbox

Good price. Good size. But little to no ventilation so the tent is a hotbox most of the time. The side windows are only decoration so they don’t open up (I thought they did which is why I purchased it) and the front inflatable beam won’t sit straight no matter which way you peg down the guy ropes so it causes the front door zip to split open.
I’ve used this tent every weekend for two months now. It’s decent in most weather including heavy winds.

Kampa XL high back chairs fell apart

We purchased 2 x Kampa XL high back folding arm chairs a few years ago. We do not use them much. We are not large people. So when the rivets broke on the front of both chairs, within 2 days of each other we were shocked and disapointed. For the money I expected better quality. I wrote to Kampa.com. asking if they sold a stronger repair kit?
It took almost a month for them to reply with welded don't sel rivits"
Unbelievable poor service. This companydo not care for customer satisfaction at all. Do not buy any of their products.

Kampa Awning - Sub Standard

We have used a Kampa Air Awning (Air Grande pro 330) for three years since purchasing in September 2020. At first we thought it was a very good piece of equipment, the air poles are excellent, very solid and have never needed to be topped up during a stay. We noticed some dripping through the material in the mornings and were told that was probably condensation. We fitted the inner roof lining which does help a lot however, during any significant rain, the awning leaks. It comes through the material and the roof lining. We have to cover everything or take it down if rain is forecast. I have applied spray on water proofing but this has no effect at all. It is a pity the material used is obviously sub standard and not fit for purpose as the design of the awnings is very good. I would not purchase a Kampa (Dometic) awning again. they are expensive and, as I have stated, not fit for purpose.
** The company is listed on Trustpilot as kampa.co.uk but this is incorrect, this address does not take you to Kampa. It should be - kampaoutdoors.com **

Kampa Brean Air Tent Perished in Sun

Bought Kampa Brean Air Tent and the material has perished from UV with only UK use. Apparently this is to be expected from the lightweight material which needs constant re-coating with UV protection. Not what we expect from a £500 tent!! Hello Decathlon..

Dometic club Air pro 390

Purchased my air awning along with right and left extensions with sleeping annexe 15 months ago. Second time of using it now. First time no rain. This week in Cornwall my holiday has been ruined due to leaks everywhere. I might as well sat outside in the rain. For a combined price of over £2000 I would have expected top quality. By reading the reviews is it really worth wasting my time trying to seal it and still have it leak. My advice is do not buy .I will not be buying this brand next time. I am wondering if this is why there are a few second hand one's on ebay

Shocking quality

Kampa Trip pole drive awning- the one star because you can’t put zero. Was just what we were looking for but shockingly bad quality. First one leaked. Was replaced and then the replacement had broken poles and also leaked, in more places than the first. So many areas where seams were badly cut and the zips were flimsy. Not fit for purpose. Not a brand I will ever buy again.

KAMPA is NOW DOMETIC......
Bought a Dometic Club Air 390s All Season Air Awning. March 2022. June 2022 notified Dometic of blue drop type marks on the windows. filled in form sent photos of these marks. NO REPLY.... We first erected the awning March 2022 till November 2022. So Forgot abot the blue marks. Folded up and stored in our living room in home till required again march 2023, erected still showing these slightly translucent marks, tried again cleaning with plain water and a soft sponge, to no avail, marks remained. Anyway come April these marks then became sticky rough to touch, and cloudy to look through, Windows should be clear!. Not in tree line so not tree sap, not in direct sunlight, because facing North by North East, so not sun scorched. May 2023 the 2 windows on the left became fully cloudy ( so we have a privacy coverage now.) end of May the front 2 windows started to cloud over. June came and a memory came up on my phone to say remember these photo's. Yep the bluey windows. So tried again contacting Dometic Customer Services via Email, NO REPLY. as a thought i contacted the retailer, who has been exceptionally helpful. They asked me to forward to them the mails i had sent to dometic and they then mailed it off to their contact at Dometic. Anyway this has been on going backwards and forwards, Dometic say 12 months guarantee, I replied with it is an ALL SEASON should be better than this. They wanted receipt. Spent an hour and half in the bank where we are ALL SEASON, they can only go back 12 months unless do on-line banking. Error we are over 70years old and dont trust that. So maybe we need to do a round trip of 500 miles to get receipt. Still not satisfactory out of warranty. Section 75 on credit card doesnt help at all. MORAL IS DO NOT. I REPEAT DO NOT BUY A DOMETC AWNING. RUBBISH CUSTOMER SERVICE, ABOMBNABLE PRODUCTS NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE.

Avoid wasting your money buying kampa Dometic awnings

Bought a new rally pro poled awning 2 years ago and it’s done nothing but leak. Been back to kampa/dometic twice for water testing; been back to retailer for water testing and re proofing. Both reported it doesn’t leak after testing and it also STILL leaks after reproofing. Neither will give a refund or replacement as apparently there’s nothing wrong with the awning!! Really?? Sorry but it’s not fit for purpose & this company should not be allowed to continue trading or selling shoddy goods. I would avoid anyone to avoid buying an awning from this company & if you have and your experience is the same as mine then join the Facebook group ‘my kampa awning leaks’ where you can read & share other peoples similar experiences. Good luck with your purchase - you’re probably going to need it!

Dometic club air pro 260s

We purchased a domestic club air pro 260s ,its only 9 month old, used 4 times, first time in summer no problem, then the next 3 timed a disaster, after rain it looked worse inside with water from roof,we bought a roof liner to help with water from roof, its ok if it rains just for a couple of hour, after that your liner gets soaked then lets water in the awning, paid £1000 for a awning i have to scrap, would never buy from this company again, my advice is to keep clear from this company.

It's a Kampa Ace 400 awning. After using 6 summers for 3 weeks a tube bursted. OK, things happen. But there are NO SPARE parts to buy, our store is at it for 4 months now. First and last Kampa/Dometic product..
