AVOID doing business as they will not honor their commitment to making a customer happy. We booked an appointment with Kahn Tailors when they came to Charlotte, NC in April/May of 2025. We ordered two custom men's suits, two custom women's suits, and 2 custom shirts. During our measurement appointment Mr. Kahn was told that my wife preferred her pants more flared at the bottom for both of her custom suits, as she has several custom suits in the past done this same way. Mr. Kahn made a recommendation on length and width but promised that regardless he would make sure she was satisfied.
When we received our order toward the end of June, the pants for both my wife's suits were not at all acceptable, especially given these are supposed to be fully custom suits which commanded a premium price. But when I reached out to Kahn tailors they responded with the "we made the pants to the measurements taken and can't take back custom pants. Although for another $500 we can make her new pants." After the overall expense for all the suits and shirts, and especially given Mr. Kahn's promise to make sure we were totally satisfied, we did not feel we should be forced to pay anything additional to ensure my wife's suit pants were to her satisfaction.
I tried numerous times to get Kahn Tailor to honor their previous promise but I received nothing but runaround and excuses. And after numerous calls to Mr. Kahn's cell phone I also never received a response.
My takeaway here is that if you are willing to pay a premium for custom apparel, you should get exactly what you want. Given that Kahn Tailor refused to make this right I would suggest others use a local trustworthy tailor who will ensure satisfaction.
