We like almost everything about TNVA. This is the only school Alissa has attended and she's finishing her sixth year. As early as kindergarten, her teachers, for the most part have all offered just the right amount of challenges and support.
I particularly like that I can know at all times, what's being said in the classrooms. Unlike a brick and morter setting, I can insure there are no distractions so Alissa can focus on learning.
I believe that TNVA has some exceptional teachers and that Alissa has been lucky enough to learn with some of them. I am so grateful to Heather Dorey, Bobbi Brock-Cobb, Megan Moore, Tina Hill, especially Judy Bingham, Heather Sentell and Samantha St Vincent.
We also like that there's a P. E. Class each week as well as alternating music and art classes.
Another great thing about TNVA is that hat the teachers allow time for students to gather together to play games, work together or just hang out. Alissa takes her work seriously and usually wants to work alone but once her work is done, she loves hanging out with her and he friends she's made.
We went into the very first class as if Alissa was in a brick and morter school, easy access to all learning materials, distractions a rarity and no tardies or absentees.
Alissa works hard and has learned so much. Virtual learning has worked well for us

My daughter started k-12, with many disabilities. They have helped her learn people love to hear her voice. They helped her want to make friends. The last end of year meeting she ran out of her leg braces. My daughter goes to therapy four times a week, all year. With that and her many doc appts. She doesn't miss a minute of class. She has grown so much independence, she is no longer timid or afraid of everyone. She loves to learn. With K-12 my daughter thrives. I wouldn't want to think how far she would be behind if she had to go to regular public school.

My experience thus far into the school year has been a rollercoaster. From having to swap teachers due to poor attitude from previous teacher, to changing the student OLS, as well as changing the parent log in apps. The plus side is that after being transferred to a new classroom my student has flourished and feels more seen and heard. The new OLS is very confusing not just for me but my child as well because it’s not as simple as previous versions, it’s brining up more tabs then needed especially for the lower grades and those of us (student and parent/guardians) that have attention deficits. The need for multiple apps is a bit outrageous, we should be able to have one app for Learning coaches to access student views even if it means swapping logins. Multiple apps cause clutter, I don’t like the clutter neither in person nor on my devices. I’ve noticed a lot of community events do cost, maybe not admission but for families like mine, we have to travel over a hour and an half away to attend most events that will be of interests to my student. I will say my students principal (2nd grade) has been amazing, she listened very well when it came to me needing help and my worries with the teacher we began the school year with. Her current teacher has been amazing, she has the most amazing mind and ideas on how to approach and help every student in her classroom. I cannot express enough how much our current teacher has made a difference for not only my student but myself as well.

TNVA is a recommendable and I like my choice for my child’s education. Whenever my child needs help, the teacher’s go the extra mile to make sure he understands his assignments. The one on one in the break out room helps with completing his lessons. This school and it’s teacher’s want our children to succeed.

The teachers and admin that I have dealt with have been absolutely wonderful! They are patient and kind and extremely helpful with any issue. This is my daughter's 2nd year at TNVA, she started in kindergarten with them, and she loves it! The whole family loves it! Both her teachers in kindergarten and 1st grade have been phenomenal and the kids really benefit from the personal 1 on 1 atmosphere that the classroom provides. My daughter loves going to school, she loves her classmates, but mostly I love that I get to be an active part in my child's education. I know immediately when she is struggling with something and can address it as soon as possible without having to wait to find out from a third party. I love that it's a public school just done virtually. I wouldn't change a thing. My child is thriving and she's happy, what's not to love!
