Dear all TrustPilot users,
For your information and facts from Jyske bank: truly, if you are a foreigner, there is no reason to spend your time talking to Jyske. They are not interested in your economy primarily, but your passport.
They require up to 40% of down payment on the price of the flat/house you intend to buy. So with 2m kroner for example, you would need to first pay 800000kr in cash to the bank to get a loan:) If you are a good negotiator, you might get 30%. In the law everybody are required a minimum 5% downpayment by default.
It is a business decision so that's how it is. Whether you are a poor Dane with average economy, you get a much better position than being a rich and steady foreigner. Everybody can make a conclusion from that what their values and business guidelines are.
But I will give them 2 stars for at least being honest with the requirement. So now you can thank me for saving your time when you are sorting your bank opportunities for a 'boliglån' :)

I have been asking for months information about opening an account for my child and if it is just to make deposits or I can take out money if needed. They answer what ever they can get from thinking with their stomach instead of answering the actual question.
When I need to get a new card, they always make the same mistake with my last names, last time they made 2 different cards one of them was correct. I asked them to cancel the wrong one and they cancel the one that was correct, when I call them to make the change a extremely rude Pia who also try to convince me that my own name was not wrong in the card answer me that they were going to change the card but I had to pay for it. When I explain her that was the banks mistake, she stop answering. The worse bank service ever.
I just checked my bank account and realize that they actually charged me for 3 debit cards in 2021 even though I was told they weren’t going to do so because it was their mistake. Seriouly?

Worst customer service of any bank. My card is blocked every other week for no aparent reason, leaving me sometimes 2 days with no way to make any purchase, food or anything else.

4 years with Jyske - a Yin and Yan experience. From the most welcoming flexible and service-oriented managers that saw my client potential to the most strict and uptight unfriendly manager that, despite my stellar track record and sound finances and a 2+ year experience, treated me like a paria, downgraded my mortgage limits. Sure enough 3 banks doubled that limit without a blink of an eye. Website and app are decent. So the experience will boil down to the manager - check and get some references - don't go blind
Am astounded by the response from Jyske. I raise the issue and they ask me to contact them for the details? Should it not be the other way around? That is a big red flag and now glad that my days at Jyske are few ...

Really bad service, they are very rude and racists, I will not recommend this bank. They have so many issues regarding foreigners.
If you read all the reviews is all about been racist.

They asked me 40% upfront for a loan to buy an apartment. I'm EU citizen with 3 years in the country.
That doesn't make sense.

I was a customer of Jyskebank for a few years, had a car loan from them which I have paid back in about 2 years- ahead of the loan schedule. Never had any negative balance, withdraw, tax debt, public debt etc. both myself or my boyfriend.
I am from outside of EU and my boyfriend is from EU, we are both Engineer and well-paid working for large companies in Denmark. I contacted my branch - Ringkobing after about 4 years to get a house loan. Firstly I was told sure, and then I was emailed that for a house loan, we need to have 30-40% of the house value just because we are foreigners and have not been here for more than 5 years!!!! 30-40% ? Really???!
We contacted Nordea after hearing this from Jyskebank, and we were approved for 4.5 times of our yearly income together to build our house with 5-10% down payment and a negative interest free account until our house is built.
Very amateur and cheap bank. Do not recommend Jyskebank because of their polices against foreigners/racism.

I recently relocated to Denmark from the UK and my Danish partner recommended I go with his bank, Jyske. Two weeks after my initial attempt to apply with Jyske, I finally got my first response. It was a simple email asking me if I had e-Boks and NemID, to which I immediately replied that I did. It has now been over a month since sending in my details with no word from Jyske. I called customer service recently for an update on the status of my application and the disgruntled agent told me they would contact me when they were ready.
I don't believe it takes more than a month to create a personal account, even for an immigrant. I have been through this process before when moving from South Africa to the UK and received an account instantly.
Edit: They still haven't called me and my efforts to contact them yielded no results. A week after contacting a competing bank, I have signed a contract and am expecting my new card within a week.

Before purchasing my new place I decided to compare different banks. Jyske was one of the selected ones.
I got a call from an agent who was very judgemental from the very beginning, first he asked me about my foreigner accent (Italian), then about what particular city in Italy I came from, mumbling something when I proudly said "South", then he assumed I wasn't as financially stable as a Dane without even asking about my job, my saving, my personal background, my years spent in Denmark and so on. He then labeled me as immigrant which therefore had to provide 20% at least as downpayment. When I asked if this was based on personal evaluation or just on a generic label he couldn't reply.
It's one the most racist and humiliating experience I've had since I've been living here, and I hope they lose all their "not so Danish" customers. That day they will probably realize how short sighted and stupid it could be, being so nationalist as a bank in a European capital in XXI century.

Your customer service agents were telling me that something works for me on the NetBank while it wasn't working, then they told me I have a blocked NemId, which I didn't have, then I was told that they can't help me with anything on the phone as it's a hotline. They had literally no answer to any question. Stop treating your customers like inconveniences!

HIDDEN FEES Was charged >200 DKK for a foreign transfer just because an employee had to do the transfer as my access was blocked by the bank. Did not receive any info that the transfer would cost any fee.

We are both expats wanting to buy an apartment, set up a meeting with a home loan adviser. Background: we are both full time jobs and have been in EU for 6 years now.
An employee calls me and asks about where we are from, how long we have been living here. Nothing more. We are not from the EU and have been living here for 3+ years. The moment the guy hears this, he downright says 'our bank cannot provide loan since you are not from denmark and dont have permanent residency'. Really?! Not even anything about our financial situation etc.
I mean I understand this is uncertain situation due to covid -19 but better put these rules (only danish and permanent residents can get home loan) on your website so no body wastes their time trying to contact the bank!
This was downright discriminating.

So I walk in the Jyske bank here in Aarhus and I simply wanted to open a PRIVATE ACCOUNT no loan nothing special, the employee tells me that they can’t open a bank account I asked the young boy why he said he doesn’t know but it’s always done over the phone, so I tell him so doesn’t it defeat the purpose of having a bank with bank employees and tellers to not help with new potential customers? He agreed and I told him sounds pretty stupid doesn’t it? So anyways I call over the phone to the phone number that the young boy gave me and I speak with someone I’ve the phone and she too said she CANT HELP ME open an account I’m like the kid in the bank said to call over the phone and I explained I don’t want a loan im not planning to buy a car or a house just want a private account! How HARD IS THAT TO DO?!?! So she says I have to email them through my email and eBoks which I do with my insurance card and cpr I didn’t hear anything for over a MONTH!!! After that I get an email that says what they need from me and I told the gentlemen via email I already sent you guys what is required to open an account so I asked him how long will it take to get an account he told me 1 month I’m like it took over a month to get a response from you guys!! So I have to wait another month?! I told him it’s ridiculous so he didn’t email me back and then a week goes by and same idiot tells me he emailed me the wrong documents that was meant for someone else and tells me to erase the documents I sent so at this point it’s been almost 2 months of waiting so I had it I went to NYKREDIT bank they helped me they opened an account in 2 days and ordered me a debit card at no charge!! You want a friendly customer service oriented bank go to NYKREDIT!! JYSKE BANK is a joke and a disgrace to the bank industry they obviously didn’t want my business and I’m a business man myself I find it hard to believe that it takes 1 month to simply open an account with them! My wife has an account with them and so does my father in law and sister in law and they ARE LEAVING JYSKE BANK, don’t waste you’re precious time with them they are pathetic, know nothing of how to treat customers, walking headless chickens , and only reply at their convenience! Worthless bank
I have a mortgage with Jyske Bank. In the current Covid 19 crisis I asked to hold over on repayments for one year, but continue to pay interest, so that the mortgage was not in default.
Jyske Bank said fine if you pay us a fee of €1,000 for writing a letter of amendment!
Whilst everyone in the world is experiencing economic pain, Jyske bank just have to take their pound of flesh.
No wonder banks, and this bank in particular, are held in such low regard.
Seriously the worst bank experience ive ever had. First and foremost they do not reply to your emails and if they do, they do not reply to your questions. I made a complaint a week ago about their horrible service and lack of response i also mentioned that i would be moving bank so i asked how much it would cost for me to move bank, i still havent gotten a reply. If your bank lady is called Ellen M. Brogberg in Herning, expect horrible horrible service!
Mvh
I have been customer in many years in Jyske Bank, and I'm very impressed with their service and their support of new technologies. They where on of the very first banks to support Apple Pay, joined the MobilePay collaboration and later supported Google Pay. Their concept of Total konto is great and very fair towards customers (why should I pay interest on one account while having money on another account).
In all contacts with the bank, their attitude have always been friendly and helpsome - they are not a discount bank, but I believe I get value for the money.

Awful attitude towards new small companies. We tried to open a business bank account several times in Jyske Bank, and all we got was a rejection wth the most ridiculous explanation ever: they required one year financial report from our company. When I asked how we are supposed to provide it if we don’t have a BANK ACCOUNT and it hasn’t even been a year since we opened, they just repeated that we need to provide one year financial report...
We even lost some potential clients because they would only pay invoices to official business accounts.
Moving on to another bank and closing personal accounts too.
That’s not a way to go, Jyske Bank
