Avoid Just Eat Italy at all costs

Order no. 212972387 (1/5/26)

Avoid Just Eat Italy at all costs! Payment was took and my order was not delivered with no attempt being made. The restaurant was uncontactable and I waited outside my address at the time provided on the app. All details were double checked to ensure they were correct. Just Eat didn’t care and wouldn’t refund, claiming the restaurant tried to deliver, which is clearly a lie. Absolutely no proof was provided to support this claim, unsurprisingly! They were nothing short of useless and stopped replying to my emails. I will now have to take the matter up with my bank to get my money back. Deliberate fraudulent behaviour by either Just Eat or the third party, possibly both, to accept my order and not deliver!

Edit. Their reply suggests my number was wrong however this isn’t correct. I also waited outside the property at the delivery time and no one showed up.
This company is currently under investigation by regulators, stay clear!

Order marked as delivered

Order marked as delivered – but never received.

Order number: 210428198

The order was marked as “delivered” at 19:05, but no delivery ever took place.

The delivery address was a hotel, including a room number. Claims about “doorbell” or intercom contact are therefore not credible. I was reachable at all times and did not receive any calls from the restaurant. My call log confirms this.

The only actual contact happened much later, around 20:45, via the hotel reception. During this conversation, the restaurant admitted they had issues with their driver and could not complete the delivery.

Despite these clear facts, Just Eat refused a refund and relied entirely on incorrect statements from the restaurant without proper verification.

I made multiple attempts to resolve the issue directly, but the case was simply dismissed.

The service was not provided, yet I was charged.

Very disappointing experience and poor customer support.

Update:

After several follow-ups and a formal escalation, the refund has now been processed.

While I acknowledge the refund, it is somewhat remarkable that this was described as an “exceptional gesture”, accompanied by suggestions that customers should ensure they are reachable by phone.

In this case, I was reachable at all times and did not receive any calls. The only contact attempt occurred significantly later via the hotel reception, where the restaurant itself confirmed that delivery was not possible due to internal issues.

It is therefore difficult to understand how the situation could initially be assessed differently.

Only after persistent follow-up was the case reviewed properly and resolved.

The outcome is appreciated, but the process required to reach it was unnecessarily complicated and based on assumptions that did not reflect the actual facts.

Refund appreciated, but the overall experience remains poor.

I ordered the lunch from the local…

I ordered the lunch from the local restaurant in scalea, Italy. The order has never arrived. They said that the driver was trying to contact me however they had my exact delivery address and it's not a first time I am ordering from this restaurant. Then they said that it's my fault and they can't issue a refund for the meal that i never received! Terrible service!

My order never came

My order never came. It said delivered, but never arrived. The hotel I stayed at made a case with Justeat.it but I was never contacted afterwards about a refund.
There is no way to contact on the website and the chat doesn't really work.
Please help

Ordered 4 pizza’s, checked my address to make sure it’s 100% correct and delivery would go smooth! On the contrary, nothing delivered although they said the delivery guy called and waited 10 minutes, which is not the case as I actually waited downstairs to avoid the risk that the delivery guy would not find my apartment! Called them and they told to wait another 20 minutes, still nothing! Total scam, no refund, very unprofessional, why operate as a business in this way is beyond me! What does that say about them?

Order came back to store and JustEat doesn't want to give my money back

I wasn't able to pick up the phone when the courier arrived. The order came back to the store and JustEat doesn't want to give my money back. Of course the contact with them is limited and very arrogant. Why they didn't call me via intercome like other do? They have all the details. They deliver to the address not to the phone number. It was my last time with this very low quality delivery. Also very expensive. Don't use them!!

The customer service is as bad as it gets.

We had a foreign number and therefore they where not able to call us. When we tried to resolve the issue they gave excuse after excuse, and instead og being polite, they outright accused us of various things. We will not be using this service again.

Order not delivered

Order not delivered, no refund.
I was home the whole time and no one ever rang my doorbell.
I received an email "rider has arrived" and when I went down there was no one.
I reached out to customer service both by chat and email and they refuse to do anything about the situation.

Edit after reply: As clearly stated in the review I have already reached out to customer service and they continued to send an automated response and not address the problem.

Waited over 2 hours but our order never arrived … but I’ve still been charged

Ordered and was told it would be an hour wait. When the app said “5 minutes to delivery” the page refreshed and said it would be another 40 minutes. Waited another 40 minutes and the order still had not been delivered, but since it had been marked “preparing” by the restaurant there was no way to cancel the order. Waited over 2 hours for an order that was never delivered but have still been charged… total scam

Bunch of scammers

Bunch of scammers. Waited outside the adress the whole time. Even have conversations with the restaurant through WhatsApp that the food never arrived and they still claim that they delivered my food.

It’s a SCAM

It’s a SCAM! They took the money and never delivered the food even tho it was marked as “delivered”! We tried contacting them but they refused to communicate properly and solve the problem. Would’ve gave them 0 stars id there was an option. 👎
