The absolute most unprofessional retail experience of my life, they do not value customers

I have never experienced such unprofessional and discourteous behaviour in a retail environment. I left the shop genuinely shocked by what transpired.
For context, around five months ago I purchased three airsoft guns from this retailer for myself and my sons. Even at the time, several people warned me about the store’s poor customer service, but I chose to give them the benefit of the doubt. Since then, I have continued to support the business, purchasing accessories, parts, and ammunition regularly. In total, I have spent over £2,000 with this retailer in just five months, and would considered myself a loyal customer.
Recently, we upgraded to Wolverine MTW HPA rifles. Just over a week ago, I purchased an HPA tank, line, and regulator from the store for this gun. After using the setup in a game, the connection between the HPA line and the gun leaked air. To confirm the issue, I tested another player’s line as well as my son’s line—both worked perfectly.
I returned to the shop to explain the issue and request an exchange. The same staff member who originally served me (their technician) informed me that there are two types of fittings—European and US—and that I had purchased the wrong one. I explained that I had brought the gun into the shop when I made the purchase, and that the staff clearly saw it was a Wolverine MTW, a US manufactured platform. Anyone familiar with airsoft equipment would know this. His response was that they “did not know what I was plugging it into,” despite the gun being right in front of him at the time.
He then refused to exchange the item because I did not have the receipt with me, despite acknowledging that he had personally served me only a week earlier. I also could show proof of purchase on my banking app, which he dismissed. He insisted I needed the original packaging—packaging that had to be torn open to access the product in the first place.
When I pointed out that the item had been mis sold, his response was astonishingly unprofessional: “well, I can get it to seal to a gun, SO THAT AIN'T GOING TO WORK WELL FOR YOU?” He also admitted that they had only received the correct US type fittings that very morning and had discussed in-store why customers had been experiencing issues with high pressure lines. This raises serious concerns about how many other customers may have been sold incompatible products.
As the conversation escalated, he snatched the faulty line from my hands, slapped the replacement on the counter, glared at me, and said “UNREAL.” I replied that his behaviour was indeed unreal—especially toward a customer who had spent over £2,000 with them in such a short period. I made it clear I would not be returning.
I think the Manager/owner was present at the time, which the member of staff I was dealing with called him Phil, but he just listened and did not interject. After checking Trustpilot, I now see that my experience is far from unique. The pattern of poor customer service is well documented, and unfortunately my experience aligns with those reviews.
In the end, the staff member achieved nothing but creating an unnecessary scene in front of other customers and losing a loyal one. I will not be using this retailer again and will be sharing my experience with others in the airsoft community.

Never Again.

What an absolute nightmare of a shop that’s being ruined by its Manager. Well at least I think he’s the manager. Bought over £1000 worth of equipment from JD Airsoft in Cannock but things didn’t go off to a great start. First gun I bought lasted 2 days and after returning it to a very very aggressive member of staff who insisted it was fine, they tried to fix it and couldn’t so offered me store credit. I bought a Pit Viper. No complaints there. Then I bought a USW-A1 with a lot of extra things for it. Sadly it broke and this is why I’m rating this store a One Star. The tech/manager insisted the gun wasn’t broken even though we told him the BBs were just falling out of the gun and it just wasn’t working. He insisted the hop unit was not the problem and that me and KJ Works and a few other well known techs knew nothing at all. We were adviced it was either the hop rubber or the hop adjusting ring. The manager of JD Airsoft then because extremely aggressive towards me and telling me he knew for sure it was not the issue and that he had fixed it. I asked him if he had checked the hop unit and he replied that he didn’t need to because he was correct and we were wrong. Took the gun home even though I was convinced the gun wasn’t right. I put a few rounds through it and again the BBs started to fall out of the barrel. I emailed the manager Nathan who basically said he will, as a good will gesture, refund my money and then we were barred from his shop. After spending 45 pounds to use his range and a lot more money on other gear. I should also point outi bout a CZ Shadow 2 in orange for over 300 pounds and thatworks flawlessly. However he insisted the hop ring was broken. We knew this to be a lie because we took it to a professional who tried to adjust the shop and it wouldn’t adjust. He explained it was the hop adjustment ring that has snapped and that’s the only thing that could have made the BBs fall out. I got my refund from a lovely girl whom was very nice and extremely helpful and at no time was she rude or unprofessional. I now shop elsewhere for my guns and have so far added three new guns to my collection, all of which work flawlessly and all of which have a no strings return policy.
Sadly I would not recommend this Airsoft shop, JD Airsoft in Cannock to anyone because they care nothing for issues found with their guns because of just one person who prefers to be right rather than admit he might be wrong.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback.

We are sorry to hear that you were unhappy with your experience. While we do not agree with all aspects of your account, we did work through the matter with you and ultimately offered a full refund, which was provided in full in order to resolve things fairly.

We always aim to help our customers in a professional and reasonable manner, and we regret that on this occasion the situation became difficult for all involved. Following this experience, we took the decision that we would not be the right retailer for you for any future purchases.

For clarity, at no point did we state that you were barred from the store; we simply advised that future sales would not be possible. We are also happy to refund the £45 membership fee relating to use of our in-store facilities.

We do appreciate your kind comments about the member of staff who assisted you with the refund, and we will be sure to pass that on.

We wish you all the best moving forward.

Part missing on new rifle

So brought a new SLR FAL GBB at a cost of £700, advertised as 'enpas fitted', used the rifle which is awesome, so all good.... this was used in the colder mths, now it's warmer it's fps is high so needs adjusting via the enpas.
Only to find no enpas fitted but hey, no problem I will just give them a call and their excellent customer service and after sales will sort, yes!?..... no!!!
I was told a could go back to the shop and have their 'techs' do the work for free, 2 things... I don't want them working on my airsoft gear and 2nd the cost in time and fuel isn't good for my wallet and I would have to trash a Saturday.
So I asked them to post the part, which is a small piece of plastic and a grub screw which weigh grams, I was then informed they could do this at a charge to me of £9.50 hmm, so.... they haven't installed the enpass as they should of and now it will cost me for their mistake, at that point I pointed out that this is the JD Airsoft customer satisfaction I have heard of when playing on airsoft sites and wished the lass a good day.
I'm lucky I have the tools and machinery to sort this myself and it will take a grub screw I already have to sort it. Luckily I paid on credit card and have a legal recourse and will be filling a complaint as ' not sold as advertised ' it is beyond me they have made a mistake, I am willing for them to send me the part that I am willing to fit. The postage on that item Royal Mail Tracked would be approximately £1
Totally lost for words and we'll done to all at JD Airsoft.

Visited the store for the first time…

Visited the store for the first time today and was absolutely amazed by the range of pistols and rifles they had in stock! I'm really into my pistols and after visiting JD Airsoft I've definitely walked away with a new love for AK's and Shotguns and even M14's! The way the stock was displayed really showed the quality and craftsmanship of the items. They also have a membership you can sign up for which I will definitely be doing on the next return to store! The staff were friendly and approachable. Highly recommended a visit!

I want all the pews!

I went along to the store today, and wow, I was more that impressed! I've been into Airsoft for a good few years now, and I've gotta say that visiting JD Airsoft really reinvigorated my love for the hobby. The store was clean, well stocked and the staff were more than helpful. I purchased a m870 shotgun and I couldn't be happier. I will definitely be going back. Put it this way, I'm not an M4 guy myself and I wanted to buy an m4 based upon the way they displayed them. I was of corse allowed to handle the shotgun I was interested in , I didn't feel rushed or pushed into anything. Great bunch of people with a beautiful selection.

Buy online to have legal recourse

JD Airsoft have some friendly sales staff who will happily empty your wallet like a rapacious crack head after a fix. However, should you get a technical problem unless you have the 'hard paper till receipt' they will laugh at you, you may have the box with their bar code, BACS proof, and even the same sales staff standing behind the counter you have NOTHING! JD don't keep any documentation of your purchase, no UKARA number / reference. No sales invoice for their VAT returns even (allegedly) . Your consumer rights mean zero, zip, bupkiss, nil, diddly squat. So, unless you can cold laminate that receipt, but even then I suggest you buy online with an electronic invoice.
Judging from the reviews and local player feedback buy elsewhere and get friendly with a technician. Because a 9 week old, 4 game Evo used on semi only should not have a piston head retention screw thread-locked by ASG at the factory come loose and require a new unit.

Excellent buying experience

Customer service 5/5 Answered the phone within a few rings, the lady I spoke to was very helpful.

Delivery 5/5 I ordered around 1330 and got my gun the next day despite it having to be painted first. I was very impressed as most companies quote up to 10 working days. I do think it would be helpful if they described what timescale each service provided.

Product 5/5 Painted two tone in such a way it doesnt ruin the appearance of the chrome revolver.

Id not hesitate to use JD airsoft again in the future, this company deserves to do well.

First impressions was good very helpful. Then had an issue with a gun. Then it went all downhill from there. The person started arguing with me and I was being polite and I was offended. I was planning to buy a lot more items from them but now no chance. If that is the way they speak to customers after they have bought something then I wouldn’t want to spend anymore money with them. It’s a shame as it local to me.

Seems JD Airsoft scammed me on a specna…

Seems JD Airsoft scammed me on a specna H09, when I first bought the rif it was brand new but the same day I got it, the gearbox jammed. I obviously contacted them and took it back the following day. They swapped it out for another gun no problems.

The rif sat in my house for a year before i finally got to use it in an airsoft game. On the chrono it was shooting 290, not very good, was supposed to be 310 out of the box. I put a tight bore barrel and new hop and bucking but no change on the chrono.

I got a friend to strip it down as he is good with airsoft rifs, he just messaged me to tell me that the upgraded spring is already in the rif but has had coils cut off it, the gearbox is very dry with possibly a part missing that activates the tappet plate as the bbs are not feeding into the hop properly. The piston is in bad shape an not alot of compression.

I'm gutted, I payed £250 for a new rif and unknowingly until now had been sold a second hand rif thats been messed about with. Absolutely gutted

Faulty air gun

Purchased an air rifle when they sold them just under a year ago now. From the box the air rifle was firing way below 12ft/lbs,only found that out when I purchase a chrony to see why my scope would not zero.Contacted them to see if it could be sorted under warranty only to be told it only has 6 months warranty and told to send it to the importers of the air gun as they no longer have a licence to sell air guns.Anyway I thought I can't be bothered to take it further because the did not seem bothered. So I was told about a place round the corner from jd airsoft called air gun doctor .A fantastic guy that repairs air guns. He was good enough to look at the gun and repair it and told me that the new gun I purchased from jd air soft had been tampered with before.Screw heads had been chewed up and he could see spanner marks round nuts.At first he did not think he would be able to repair it.He did get the power back to where it should be.I then called jd airsoft to explain my situation only to be told it's out of warranty. .Sometime has passed and I was at another gun shop today ,I was explaining the events to the worker in the shop and he could not belive that they washed the hand of it and said it's out of warranty after 6 months when it is 12 months warranty on all air guns. One stars to good for this company nill stars is what I should give them but I can't. Unhelpfull after service avoid.

Advice pre-purchase

Several of us (paintball players) visited the store at NvS for advice. We returned for several conversations over the weekend and found the staff to be both welcoming and knowledgeable. They took the time to listen to all of our questions (and we had plenty) and they let us handle several of the items they had in stock and were happy to explain how they worked and the difference between models and the pro's and con's of each. No hesitation in recommending them.

#1 retailer!

I got into airsoft just over 3 years ago and JD's was the first retailer I ever went to. Brilliant 1st experience as a noob, staff were very friendly and answered all the usual noob questions. So when I finally got my UKARA membership I knew exactly who to go to. 3 years later, I'm a regular customer and have made many purchases at JD's. Their tech guy has got me out of trouble a fair few times, they offer 0% finance over 6 or 12 months. They have a very wide selection of aeg, gas and hpa guns. From pistols to grenade launchers there is something for everyone. Accessories, consumables, clothing, cases and magazines (Airsoft Action) Really friendly atmosphere and they make a really nice coffee as well 😉
