Clothing item was in front of the wrong sign. When I complained the manager told me to just read. I would have had to read the small print on the label. Instead of apologizing he again said “can’t you read?” When I told him I was going to write a review of my experience and asked him for his name he told me to get out! Won’t be back there again! The clerk was gracious.
Warning- Do not do business with JCrew!!
I almost don’t want to put anymore energy into my recent horrible experience with JCrew, but I do want to warm people. Do not do business with them. They are incompetent. First of all they were very late in shipping my order out. Then my order was stolen, which admittedly is not their fault, but I think the late shipping contributed to it being stolen because I had no clue to expect it. For me I was out $100 - a lot of money to me - and for them, they could have just shipped me my four tee shirts and the pair of pants I ordered. They made me wait ages to see whether it might arrive when it was obviously stolen. Then they told me they were going to refund my account as a solution to the problem. I never received a refund and when I asked about it they told me my payment never went through in the first place. So they sent the shipment out even though my payment never went through? That in itself is proof of their incompetence. My payment went through. They really don’t know what they are doing. Really just save yourself the time. Now I have to decide whether I put more time into this to prove my payment went through. No teeshirts should require this amount of energy emailing back and forth. Just go to banana republic. They were fantastic.
I will never buy from JCrew again
I will never buy from JCrew again. I recently bought a couple of sweaters for Christmas gifts on the JCrew website. After I bought them, I received an email stating that my purchase would be delivered on December 16th. I bought them on December 1st. After 9 days with no email updates, I finally called customer service to check on my purchase, and find out when it would ship. I was told that my sweaters wouldn't ship until December 16th and that I wouldn't receive them on the 16th. She said it would take 10 to 14 days for them to be delivered from the time they ship. I tried to get a refund because I needed them for Christmas, but she said one sweater on the order had been placed and couldn't be stopped (even though it wouldn't ship for another whole week.) The other one could be refunded. If they give refunds like they ship, I knew it might be after Christmas before I got it back. So I'm stuck with sweaters that I won't be able to give for Christmas because JCrew has terrible shipping and processing policies. They should at least list under the product online how long it will take to ship before someone buys it. I have always liked and bought JCrew clothes going back to the early 90's. Never again!
I don't want to hear that it's the holidays, because I bought from other vendors the same night and have already received my purchases.
Hidden charges
I was only charged taxes fees a day after I bought the item. Customer service accused me of not know what tax was when I tried to cancel the order. I’ve never seen taxes hidden like that, and my trust with the company has been broken. Shame.
Tried to order an e gift card
Tried to order an e gift card. First it insisted that I supply a shipping address. Why? You aren’t shipping anything? Then when I tried to check out they insisted I use either PayPal or ApplePay. Why can’t I just use a credit card. So, didn’t order anything. Won’t in the future either.
Last minute cancellation on an Order…
Last minute cancellation on an Order place on July 8th, 2024! Place an order for an Nordic parka with PrimaLoft July 8th, 2024. The order to be delivered during the month of October 2024. On October 10th, 2024 JCrew cancelled the order, " We wish we had enough..." Serioulsy JCrew! Now you tell me! Poor customer service, Lack of proper commnunications! Bad Business practice!

Bad customer service
Today I was shopping at the JCrew store in Cherry Creek Denver, Colorado. I wanted to purchase a red coat for a trip coming up, but the size I needed was on a mannequin at the front of the store. I am visiting a relative in Colorado but I am from Louisiana where there is no JCrew store-closest is Houston or Baton Rouge 2.5 hrs away. I asked a worker if I could get the coat on the mannequin and was informed that the store policy was not to remove clothes from the mannequin, but they could overnight it to me. I questioned how could I be certain it fits. The small was too big and I needed the xs which they only had the one on the mannequin. I asked to speak to the store manager and she said that was her, but I asked why she couldn’t easily slip the coat off and explained my situation-that I was from out of town and I do not have a jCrew near me. She then said let me go ask the store manager to see if we can do it this one time. I thought it was strange because she originally told me she was the store manager. I waited. I was abruptly approached by a bald man “the store manager” of the Cherry Creek Denver store and as he was walking up said we are not removing the coat from the mannequin before I ever asked or said anything. The store manager was extremely rude. He wanted me to try on a different coat but I explained that it was not the same. I told him that I didn’t understand why he could not easily remove the coat if I was buying it and why he would not want to sell a $400+ coat. I told him that I would not be purchasing anything from the store or be shopping with them, and his reply was good, do not come back and have a good day. I was very offended by his response.
I have never received customer service like this from the Highland Village Houston JCrew which I frequently shop. The Houston customer service is top notch. I also did check the stores in Houston and none of the stores had this cost in stock. I am extremely disappointed that JCrew would have a manager that treats his customers this way.

I had been shopping at J.Crew for ~10 years. In 2017, I bought one of my favorite dresses there and wore it for my after wedding brunch—it was fabulous—classic, well fitting…and I always get a lot of compliments whenever I wear it. It was part of the J.Crew collection that is now a collection of very flimsy unimpressive designs. The quality took a nose dive last summer. I purchased many tank tops and they all came out of the cold, delicate wash like rags—I hung them up and when they dried I was shocked by the faded color, pilling…awful. My mother bought a very similar set of tank tops from the Loft that summer, and they were FAR superior in cut, fabric, and much cheaper!
What really destroyed my opinion of the brand was when I went shopping for my daughter this past spring, I was absolutely SHOCKED by the inappropriate clothes in Crew Cuts!! Zero class. Midriff tops and extremely short shorts for little girls sizes 4 and up. NO. I walked out and that was it for me. Why are we displaying our children’s bodies like this? It’s very odd and in poor taste.

Zero star for J.Crew
I ordered this dress in size 6 and received a high waist denim shorts in size 35. What the hell?!!!!!! When I called the customer service, they explained sometimes order was placed but there was no inventory. So they sent a random piece of clothing instead? Really? Well, fix the stupid inventory system then. Couldn’t they have *at least* randomly picked another dress in size 6? Really, just any dress! In size 6! At least there would be some semblances of coherency and far less ignorantly comical. Now I have to take time and make a trip to return this random piece of clothing they sent me. Will not order any JCrew items online again.

I have been purchasing J crew for probably 20 years now. The quality is very terrible now. I purchased several sweaters, all of which are coming apart at the seams like they weren't sewn propertly when they were made. Despicable. It's sad when you have to resort solely to purchasing vintage because the quality is no longer there.

Return policy unclear and deceptive.Their return window is 30 days which in most cases means you have 30 days to mail merch back. They need to clarify it has to reach them by the 30 day window. I was forced to accept a gift card instead of refund because although I sent it within the window, they had not received it within the window. I then received a gift card with no pin (19 digits). This happened 4 times and I had to make 4 efforts to obtain so I could use the gift card to no avail. Finally, a rep started a "case" requesting a refund and I got the refund but I had to be absolutely pro active to get satisfaction. Customer service was always respectful, nothing unpleasant was their fault. I won't shop JCrew again because their return policy is unclear and a little slick for me.

I do not know what is currently going on with JCREW Customer Service and OnLine orders. I returned two pair of shoes using their return label. They received the orders yet never issued the exchange, never refunded my account for items not received and never communicated with me. I call to inquire and they decide to generate an online gift card for me to place a new order when I was guaranteed the order was on its way. I was firm and communicated I wanted a full refund while they persisted in giving me the run around. Oversees agents were useless. Domestic agents were not any better. I had to beg to speak to a Supervisor. Supervisor assured me she would over see every step of the refund and communicate with me. NEVER DID. I will NEVER shop from JCREW again. I have been a client for 38 years. Buyer Beware!!!! Strange "get screwed" practices not typical of the previous company
Buyer beware!
I bought a long sleeve cashmere crew this past winter and it pills like crazy! For $120+ dollars I would have expected a higher ply and quality which this is not. I have purchased cashmere at a lower price point that is of much higher quality. Cautionary tale - look around and consider other companies when buying cashmere. Frankly, this is an overpriced cheap product for which I am regretful to have bought. Buyer beware!
Not sure if this counts as scam
I returned my entire order (300+$), and I was refunded about 150$.
The support replied to my request that if I do not return the entire order a fee of 53$ is charged, but they will make an exception and refund those 53$.
Their reply is wrong on several levels, because I DID return the entire order (as my E-Mail's first line said).
Over 100$ are still missing. Their return fee already is hilarious, and that they are unable to process returns brings this on an entirely new level.
Conclusion: After three parial refunds, which I had fought for at customer care, I was finally refunded the entire amount.

I have been shoping J Crew for 20 years now and they still remain fresh, classic and pulled together. I will shop with them the rest of my life.
