First Box of Jane plan Meals

I have only just had my first box but the meals are delicious and I am hoping to lose 4 stone so it's great all calories are more or less counted for you!!

I felt I ought to be honest

I felt I ought to be honest. The staff are lovely and it’s not their fault the ‘food’ is, in some cases, inedible at best. There is very little meat in the dishes and what there is is either chewy (beef) or dry (chicken). The Thai pot noodle is inedible. They give you five days to try the food but that’s not enough to try every thing and then, apparently, you are tied into a contract that you have to pay to get out of. They don’t tell you that you have to supplement the dishes with vegetables snd yoghurt/fruit thus making it really expensive - more than Mounjaro in fact. I have chosen my second month’s menu and I am hoping there will be a decent lunch and dinner within that. The advertising is misleading, the meals are not what you get as they have been supplemented with vegetables and fruit not in the plan. The principle is good but what is delivered falls short of what is advertised.

We do, however, feel it is important to clarify a couple of points for anyone reading your review. Customers are not “tied into a contract” after the 5-day trial period. Our trial allows customers to try the meals at home and, if they decide the plan is not for them, they can simply return the box within the trial terms. We are always very transparent about how this works.

We are also open about the fact that fresh fruit, vegetables, and dairy are added separately. This is clearly explained as part of the plan, as it allows customers to personalise their meals while keeping produce fresh and reducing waste.

Taste is of course subjective, and with over 80 different meal options available we appreciate that customers will naturally have favourites and meals they enjoy less. We are pleased to hear you have been able to select a new menu for your second month and genuinely hope you find more meals that suit your tastes.

Good easy to use service

Only problem is meals are repetitive every month.

The meals are excellent

The meals are excellent! Great variety of choices too. Both my husband and myself do cook and we miss that although he’s not on JanePlan , just me. I have recently finished immunotherapy for Stage 4 melanoma and eating/appetite is erratic.Not sure if I should give up. Will have a word with your nutritionist….Only criticism is the carbohydrates are a little too high for a daily count. I do get good weight loss results if I eat fewer carbs. Maybe my next delivery can reflect that. Thankyou

You are absolutely right that everyone responds differently nutritionally, and some customers do find they achieve better results with a lower carbohydrate intake. Just joined


UPDATE courier has delayed my parcel again this means my parcel is 5 days late

Just joined jane plan. Watched all the videos read all the emails about clearing out cupboards etc before starting. I then check on my delivery to say it delayed by 3 days. I got no notification from carrier. Contacted jane plan who advised delays happen. If this is the case then not a 28 day plan. I have had to spend money on shopping and will now have 3 days excess food in my box. Very disappointed in jane plan as this is not the story they sell

Irrelevant about shelf life i have incurred more cost due to jane plan which the company havent even acknowledged

Unfortunately, while delivery delays are rare, they can occasionally happen once parcels are in the hands of the courier, and we completely appreciate how frustrating this must have been — particularly as you had already cleared cupboards and organised yourself around your planned start date.

We absolutely understand your point regarding the impact this then has on shopping and meal planning, and we are sorry that the experience did not reflect the smooth start we aim to provide for customers.

The good news is that all of the meals have a long shelf life, so none of the food will go to waste, and you can either use the extra meals over time or simply adjust your next delivery date slightly if needed.

We do genuinely appreciate your feedback, as it helps us continue improving both communication and the onboarding experience for new customers. We really hope that despite this difficult start, you go on to enjoy the plan and see positive results moving forward.

Very disappointing food! 1 month

I was extremely disappointed with the quality of the food, especially lunches & dinners.Some were downright awful & most others tasted almost the same.The majority of the plastic containers were left red,even after being washed, leading me to wonder what had caused this & what had I eaten! I often eat spicy food but some of the dishes were much too spicy.
I would not recommend this food to anyone.B O'Gorman

My delivery was one week late and I…

My delivery was one week late and I wasn’t happy and they said it was stuck at depot which I suppose does happen your staff where very helpful and now have been on Jane plan nearly a week now . I have done jane plan before a few years ago and I lost 2 stone .

Totally dissatisfied with the service

I have been in the plan for 5 months of an 8 month plan every single box has been wrong be very careful what you sign up for even though they are totally at fault they won’t allow me to cancel without paying a penalty which I will not do they are in breach of contract so under consumer rights I can. So before you commit think ! The whole thing has been stressful and caused huge anxiety

In your case, we arranged and sent replacement meals as quickly as possible to ensure you received the correct products.

We do operate a cancel-any-time policy with no cancellation fees. However, as longer duration plans are offered at a discounted rate compared to shorter plans, if you choose to cancel early you would be charged the difference between the discounted longer plan and the shorter duration completed, as set out in our terms and conditions.

Jane Plan works

This plan covers all my needs and as a housebound woman in late 70s with walking problems the weight I have lost i.e. 2and a half stone is wonderful . Just need to lose another 2 stone, hopefully . I love the lunchtime soups very tasty and the dinner meals are great .

I love Jane Plan

I love Jane Plan. It has made my life so much easier. I tried losing weight on my own, but counting the calories and having to weigh everything and thinking what to make to eat everyday was time consuming. I now just go to my cupboard and pick one of the meals they sent me, and within no more than 5 minutes, I have a tasty nutritious meal.

It was Never Delivered

It was Never Delivered. DHL gave me a date and time for delivery, eventually saying they had lost it. Had to cancel and had a refund. Not Jane Plan fault, but their courier.

the food is not good I just can not eat…

the food is not good I just can not eat it.
I do not like cooked tomatoes and sauce,, coconut,
red meat macaroni so will not be eating this.
In thought I would be able to choose what In eat not just send food.

Food edible and that’s about all

Food edible and that’s about all. Don’t be fooled by the lasagne advertised as there is no comparison to the one received. I can only refer to the topping as looking like caramel custard!! Yes I lost weight but really wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

The food quite frankly is inedible

The food quite frankly is inedible, I'venot even managed a week I'll tryfinish month 1 as you do loose weight not eating!

It's across the board, nothing specific although the most horrid meal cottage pie, grey brown potato that smells revolting.
Who tests these meals!

Some of the meals are really not nice-…

Some of the meals are really not nice- the tomato sauce based products are just not to my taste- too tangy, too much a reliant on dry herbs- and the pasta is almost worst than dreadful - it’s like sludgy mush - as are the mushrooms on the stroganoff
I’m grateful you can swap.. but gosh it is hard in the first month if you get awful meals and food
This evening - the tuna pasta bake was such a disappointment.. nothing like I’m used to.. who puts tuna with tomato sauce in this way?
The meals lack flavour too- eg garlic, pepper

Your tomato sauce is clearly the same for the pasta dishes like Arrababatia as well which means these meals are unpleasant for me
I’m sorry if I’m being rude and negative- but I’ve got so many meals left form my first month because I don’t want to try them after the poor experience of a similar meal

I am super grateful for the chance to control my eating etc but this first round has been pretty rough
