easy to set up. Some teething problems for me.

easy to set up but forever offline.
Cannot access my sites for testing. hit and miss.

EDIT: it was frustrating as I was unable to access my website or Wordpress backend the first time I tried to use it. This went on for a while. It could simply have been a case of coincidence. Since then, I have had no issues and have actually been quite impressed with the response times. It’s free after all.
So I changed my rating from 2 to 4 stars. I would recommend, although it’s early days. More time will give a better picture.

I am the Jedi and the Ninja!

InfinityFree Has been a very great Domain thus far, I have been using the free domain service offered by InfinityFree for a few years now and I live in a highly deuterating political and economic position, everyone is a thief and communications infrastructure is compromised all to "F". InfinityFree has been reliably stonewalling invasive usage of my not so popular web page " ChristopherTM.great-site.net ". If i had a Phone Number and Mailing address I would gladly pay for InfinityFree's Paid Services. I have learned how to Program and Manage a website using infityfree's free domain service and I am quite proud of it! I can fluidly read HTML and CSS now and am just starting to get the just of JavaScript! Feel Free to visit my web page and alpha test the user end of your own website or just find something interesting to read!

Excellent

I was skeptical that a free service would be good enough to run my websites on, but the service they offer is fantastic and would recommend to anyone

Good, but

The web hosting is quite useful. It is the only one I have found so far that (for the most part) meets my needs. It is free, supports PHP, video, audio, and many types of files, and you can pick many subdomains for free, and then subdomain those subdomains, etc. One of my favorite things is the free SSL certificates, because in this day and age, if you don't have an SSL certificate, Chrome goes crazy and says you're an atttacker, especially since the subdomains you can get are from non-top-level domains, such as .gd (Grenada!), .nf (Norfolk Island!), etc.!

There are only a few complaints I have:
- You must upgrade to get PHP mail() support, etc., even though it says "free" in the name.
- You cannot iframe or otherwise display your website on another website, or host an API, which makes it hard to use files between 2 of your own websites.
- Some PHP functions are disabled for security
- FTP uploads and file sizes are limited (although it is hard to go over the limit with files other than .htaccess)
- Because of the same security system that stops APIs, the URL of your website has a "?i=1" (or 2, or 3) after it.

Most of these I understand, and this is just something one has to accept if he/she wants to host a website without his/her own servers.

Very good free hosting

Used their hosting to learn WordPress and php. InfinityFree is excellent for that. They don't make the learning part any easier, but at least you're not handing out money to do it.

When I need any of the extra power/features the premium hosting offers, I'm certainly keeping InfinityFree in mind for an upgrade.

Falsely claimed violation of terms, suspended account

I've had a free site for nearly 5 years with a company that calls itself InfinityFree. The site has barely a few pages and gets little or no monthly traffic. After a few months they started to automatically deactivate the account each month because of low traffic, and I manually reactivate. Only this time, after I reactivated, they suspend it, with a BS excuse claiming it uses too many resources by not using enough traffic? They refused to activate or even allow me the courtesy of a warning and a chance to download the files.
I've worked in the ISP and hosting and colocation industry as a sysadmin. I know BS excuses when I see them. I did not violate any terms or conditions. However, they violated terms, are in breach of contract, guilty of false advertising as it's neither infinite nor free, and are very unprofessional and childish in the handling of the situation. A warning about terms of service, a grace period, and opportunity to reclaim files, at the very least, is proper courtesy. They do none of that, deny all ftp access, and do not even care or honor their own terms and conditions.

It's true that we have both minimum limits for traffic and maximum limits for traffic.

We have minimum limits of traffic because while you're free to use our hosting, we don't want to waste server space on websites that have been abandoned and forgotten. So accounts that appear to be unused are cleaned up automatically.

At the same time, we also have upper limits for usage, to prevent a few big websites from using up all server power and hurting the performance of other websites on the server.

I completely understand that it's frustrating if first your account is suspended for having too little traffic, and then it gets suspended for having too much traffic. But if you don't use your account for a while, and then you use it intensively, it can happen.

If you do get suspended for high server use, this typically triggers a 24 hour suspension. After those 24 hours, your account will be reactivated automatically, your website will be accessible again, and you'll have full access to your data. We're not in the business of holding people's data hostage.

What you say about "using too many resources by not using enough traffic" seems a bit off, which is why I requested more information from you to see what exactly happened to your account. But you didn't respond, so I'm not quite sure what happened to make your conclude this.

Besides that, it's true that our hosting is not infinite. The infinite power server has not been invented yet, which means that all hosting, including ours, has limits. So we don't claim that our hosting is unlimited.

Our hosting platform does indeed send you promotional emails with paid offers if you opt in to them (shown when you created your account or logged in to the control panel for the first time). If you ever change your mind, every email has unsubscribe link at the bottom. If you click it, we won't send you any more emails like that.

I agree that not having ads in our panel would make it cleaner. However, because we provide a free service, we need those ads to generate revenue to make this free service possible.

Better option for free hosting

Very few services provide free hosting. Where this service is offering 5GB free hosting for a "unlimited" period (Idk the actual limit; but it is huge) also with 3 free subdomains and I have not seen any ads in the hosted websites. Their is even a rf.gd domain, which is free and really short. It is far more better than 000webhost.com (000webhost.com has a 1 year limit for free plan with a really long domain) for free users, specially for developers who want to test their web apps in a website. The service gives no SSL certificate by deafult, but you can request for a free SSL. But is complicated to set up one.

Exactly what it says on the tin

InfinityFree is, very simply, a good free website hosting service. They have a few auxillary tools, but not many, and you are mostly expected to do everything yourself, which is complete fine and actually preferred most the time. Along with this, they prevent a few php functions for the sake of security and not bogging their servers down to a halt, have a lot of ads, and promote their premium offerings, but none of them are too annoying or a deal-breaker. The service itself is very reliable, and, as long as you remember to disable cache, changes on the ftp server reflect in the website immediately. Overall, does exactly what it says, nothing more, nothing less.

Slow to the point of being unusable.

I've been using InfinityFree (I.F.) since the beginning of this year, and my experience with the site has always been frustrating. Extremely low bandwidth times that are outclassed by Neocities is my main gripe with I.F., with its PHP rendering times being slower than average, yet still manageable. Useful enough for small scale projects, but if you create a site with any merit at all... expect to lose minutes of your time waiting for your own site to load.
