Nothing works properly. I currently can't even access my profile, ratings, etc. They made the app incompatible with my phone so now I'm forced to use the website, which is totally dysfunctional.

Ever wanted a website that accurately tells you what the show is about? Unibased reviews? A system without botting and awful maths? Well forget IMDB, this website offers none of that, you cant trust anything on this website and the few synopsis & reviews that are legit arent really that good and other websites do a lot better.

The site is obviously unable to control fake reviews and fake interactions in general that it basically looses any value whatsoever. It also aggressively filters out any critical review in periods just after the release of a product. I understand the site wants to prevent review bombing but in the absence of proper user verification and vetting based on patterns, it results in completely distorted pictures regarding many products that are rated at least 2 or 3 stars (out of 10) above their real value. Right now, I would recommend to be very careful when considering positive review posted on this site and I sincerely hope that IMDb does something to combat fake reviews, particularly from newly created accounts or dormant accounts that are just used to manipulate the opinion of viewers.

imdb always been my go-to place for movie and tv info . love how easy it is to find , trailers, reviews, movies all in one spot. sometimes the ads are kinda annoying and the app feels a bit slow, but nothing too bad. site still super helpful when I can’t remember an actor or wanna check ratings before watching. overall really solid, just needs a little smoother experience

While using the IMDB app selected Regal Theaters and saw tickets for Hamnet movie for Dec 8, 2024. Then 3 days later received an email informing me they are refunding me for these tickets. I had never heard of them before and still have no sense of why a link was imbedded in IMDB. However, this seems odd and misleading to sell and then cancel a movie ticket. Something does not seem right with this and therefore this review. I no longer trust both companies as I went to Regal to purchase tickets and was delighted with no extra fees like Atom charged me ($4.38). Thankfully I did receive a full refund from Atom but will never use them since I can’t trust anything they say they do. Same with IMDB - not a valid reason to even cohost Atom if they were involved with this cancellation

on friday me and my close firnds gather in my apartment to watch a movie...
we vary from horro to drama, and of course no one wants to ruin friday night with some low quality movie, therefore we carefully check the rating on the website, and most of the time the rating matches with the content quality....
but it is not always so, some movies have low scores...why?

Imdb has allways been a good site to find movies and whats comming.

IMDB is a great resource for getting information about movies. However they don't allow freedom in reviewing movies. There are certain things they don't allow people to mention, and when these things are part of the movie, that forces people to either do a lopsided sanitized review, or have their review declined.
This is horrible for maintaining honest reviews.

I'm not sure what people expect out of these websites... you get movies/show teasers, trailers, reviews (which should always be taken with a grain of salt) and you can discover more by your fav actors and directors etc... don't forget this is now owned by Amazon... so I find the negatives a bit harsh. Can they do better? sure, but it could've been so worse with ads and BS.. pretty decent experience IMO

When IMDB changed the rating system, perfectly good movies started getting down-rated. This used to be my go-to website for movie and tv reviews.

As long as you agree with imdbs world views you seem to be able to leave movie reviews on their site. But, go against their views and your review is denied. I always thought something was wrong when I'd see a movie rated eight or nine, then watch it and scratch my head, thinking it was a two at best. This time, I gave a review on the movie one battle after another (which i rated 2). and just gave my true review and opinion of the mivie, and my review was denied. I am done using IMDB.

Very poor customer service and not friendly, if you miss a payment they remove all your content on your page all they care is your money, been a client for years very disappointed by this company

So, can't even write an honest review of a TV show without getting declined, because? No explanation, no justification, nothing. That and the obvious amount of bot accounts with 10/10 reviews for mediocre shows and reviews that are clearly a product of ChatGPT or another LLM. IMDB has become a joke.

Surprisingly, ratings are accurate for all movies… always choose with 7+ score

Over the years I've wrote many reviews on imdb just to realize many years afterwards they they got ALL censored. Even the ones for romanian movies, written in romanian. With the vague excuse
"ReasonDoes not meet contribution guidelines.
Your contribution has been declined.Please review our submission guidelines."
Which is basically a non answer. I will not bother to make speculations, but the fact is that they censor reviews. Note, they are USER reviews, I am not hired for a company nor did I review on behalf of imdb. I should not be held to any sort of standard for any company. The fact that they censor reviews means their reviews are MISLEADING. I remember one time when I tried to give 1 star to a movie and the system was suspecting me of being a spam bot so it didn't register my rating. Police should investigate this company. Misleading company. It might be a case of them being paid by companies to censor negative reviews. I would attach many photos as evidence but trustpilot does not allow me to do that. I'm just shocked that even the romanian reviews got censored, and they were for very very old movies too. I could not see a single exception where one of my reviews wasn't completely declined.

They use a company to recruit people like myself who get paid for every 10 star review given. I have only done it once before deciding this was not what I want to be doing! So yes. False, paid reviews UK
