I am extremely disappointed with both…
I am extremely disappointed with both the product and the customer service at Illums Bolighus. I ordered a wool baby hat and washed it exactly according to the care instructions (wool program, wool detergent). The hat completely fell apart after the first wash — wool fibers were all over the washing machine.
I immediately contacted customer service and returned the item as requested. After waiting for a long time and sending multiple follow-up emails, the seller finally responded and refused to acknowledge the product as defective. They also refused to refund my money.
This is unacceptable. The hat was clearly a quality defect, not a handling issue. The service is misleading and dishonest, and they provide no support when the product fails. I would strongly advise against buying anything from this company.
Horrible service
I placed an order on the website. After I approved to pay on mobilepay their website showed an error, saying that the payment failed.
I double checked My Order page, there was no order created.
This can happen at any website so I simply tried to order again.
Even there was no order history shown before, after the 2nd attempt they made an duplicated order.
Charged me twice, and sent the package twice - but in 4 different boxes! So I had to pickup all 4 boxes, then return 2 back again.
Sadly, if the problem ended here, I wouldn't even write a bad review here.
After speaking with the customer service almost the whole 2 weeks, they processed a refund of 408kr only that doesn't match any of the product price nor order.
The payment was made twice each, for 448kr x 2 times + 450kr x 2 times.
I said the amount is wrong, then the customer service asks me what is the amount of refund I should get(???????), when they can check themselves as the email is made with all the order numbers + I provided all 4 invoice numbers already.
By just making a simple order with them I am being punished, wasting so much time and energy for 2 entire weeks, they cannot handle a simple payment or refund process - and this is STILL NOT FIXED!!!!!
I would never recommend anyone to use this webshop unless they want to waste a lot of time, simply unprofessional and not ready to do this.
Beautiful home design
I bought some homeware from Illums Bolighus and the quality is outstanding. It makes my living room feel much more elegant.

Disrespectful and Poor Customer…
I recently visited Illums after discovering a crack in a designer lamp I had purchased. To my shock, I was accused of damaging the lamp myself, with the salesperson, Ms. Bachmann, implying that many customers do the same. I felt as though I was being treated like a liar, despite explaining multiple times that the damage was not self-inflicted. If I had caused the damage, I certainly would have claimed it through my insurance.
Ms. Bachmann offered me a new lamp at 50% off, which felt dismissive. I tried to explain that I had a warranty and wanted a replacement, not a discount. After insisting on an investigation, it was clear she was not inclined to support my case. A few days later, I received a message stating my claim was rejected, with the only option being a discounted spare part.
This experience left me speechless. I couldn't help but wonder if I would have been treated differently if I spoke Danish or was from Denmark. I expected much better customer service, especially considering the premium pricing of their products.
I do not recommend Illums based on my experience.

Do not order furniture from Illums Bolighus!!! Go directly to the manufacturer. My wife and I purchased a dining room table and chairs and paid the 500€ to have it delivered. The sales associate made no mention of curbside delivery - only that it required assembly!!
To add insult the manufacturer will deliver the items for free. When I asked Illum Bolighus I received a curt reply and they never bothered to follow up. My simple request was to have the items delivered inside my house based on the customer service agent’s lack of disclosure.
They care nothing for customer value and I recommend a tear clearing of purchasing through them. There is NO advantage to buying through Illums Bolighus!
Poor customer service, constant online system errors & loooong delivery times
I have bought multiple times online this year and all of my orders had technical system issues. Meaning, after I place an order I must give a call to CS to tell them that! The best so far was my last order. It took me 5 weeks to receive it, multiple e-mails and calls to customer service, where I was always told it is solved now, but a week later I call again to find out it wasn't solved. After 5 weeks following up on my order myself, I asked customer service to escalate this matter to the management and asked the CS Manager to reach out to me. Guess what, the customer service assistant didn't bother to do it either. No response to my e-mail, no sorry.. nothing, received the only - your order was dispatched today auto e-mail. Like, get off my toes, here is your item. WOW! No regrets, no care, just took the full amount of my bank account and bye. Surely not purchasing anything else there, with such an attitude towards the customers.
Missing item, no response from costumer service…
I ordered and paid for an item which I still haven’t received. The company took the money but the item is still pending, meaning it hasn’t left the warehouse yet.
I tried contacting costumer service but 4 emails later, I still haven’t had a response yet.
I’m disappointed in the service and cannot recommend buying from it again.

I have visited Amagertorv today 23/9. At the furniture department was siting and going through some Gabriel fabric samples once the guy Bo Overgaard came across and asked me what I will use the fabric for and why am I looking. I do buy at the shop regularly so didn't think that it will be a problem. I answered that its for a Håg chair that Im buying elsewhere and this particular Gabriel fabric will be used for its upholstery. This time Im here up on the upholstery company's advice. Once he was made aware of the reason, he told me that I have no right to be here, I can't look at the fabrics here if Im not buying anything from the store. I was rudely asked to leave. I told him that the fabric samples are borrowed to his store and the Illum Bolighus do not even own it. Its Gabriel's belongings and Im buying their fabric from them. He still claimed that illumBolighus has bought these samples and raised his voice telling me to leave. He said -quote- you are waisting my time. I didnt even ask him for any assistance, I was minding my own business once he popped up. I asked for a store manager and he said its him and that he is the one deciding here. As folowing, I have asked him if I even needed to answer him why am I looking at the fabrics in a first place and he said -quote- yes you must answer my questions! He made several hand gestures while I tried to look up his name card and quickly left. There were several other employees witnessing the situation, as well as some customers, was extremely awkward and embarrassing, since he was loud in his tone.. I somehow do not believe he would have done this to my dane husband if we were together at this time, I could sense the arrogance with a racist note in his voice! What a nice Saturday I just had.. I guess I don't even need to mention that no purchases will be ever made there by me nor my family. As well as sharing this on my social media with my network for their awareness of the service level at Illum Bolighus.
No customer service
No customer service. They do not wish to take responsibility for the products they sell. Sad in a way, but you do save money by not buying from them.

Shocking customer service in the highly competitive retail environment of 2023. Left the store with broken glasses having been pushed from eyewear department to customer service department. Would never shop with this retailer again.
Great customer lounge & services
The customer lounge & services are really the best at Illum Copenhagen. I had a problem that they solved very fast. They are very helpful and seemed they would go the extra mile to make things right which was very appreciated. Great service!

The site was easy to use, the package arrived on time, with consistent updates and the wrapping was well done.
Excellent service
Lip product arrived OPEN
I ordered 3 things from their online store to arrive in Sweden. The lip product was in the package OPEN and the smell of the lip product had transfered over to the other products. That is extremely unhygienic and disgusting. The other two products were shoved in without care.
I will never order from them again. Their prices seemed OK considering they had a sale going on, but I will pay extra in another store for this reason. Now I have to throw away the lip product. It wasn't that expensive, and reading other reviews here, I won't even bother with the costumer service.
Broken items
Part of the product arrived broken. They didn't offer a full refund or a replacement item, but instead a partial refund and unfriendly service.
