A mismanaged $ to Rs conversion by ICICI of wire from U.S.

I wired from my U.S. personal account to my ICICI Bank Pune personal savings account. The wire arrived the next day. I was not notified by email or text message about the arrival of the remittance. Bank Forex dept. Converted the whole wire at a ridiculous rate, taking almost Rs 1.55 per dollar commission. Very unprofessional behavior. I tried to complain to Forex V.P. Dinesh Pardeshi. He does not respond.

Account is very old so never had debit…

Account is very old so never had debit cards. Spoke to someone who was helpful and ordered cards out. Was advised that I would have to contact them via phone to generate pin in order to be able to access online banking. Today is the third day of calling them with no joy. Kept getting transferred to automated system which does not accept my bank card number. Eventually was advised to give a contact number and after 24 hours would be able to access online banking. He then put me on hold and after 20 minutes cut me off. Very bad service even though the team promise to help with the issue but they don’t really listen as to what the problem is. Once I have transferred the money I will close the account. Not a happy bunny!

Urgent: ICICI Bank Fails to Protect Against Scam

I am extremely disappointed with ICICI Bank's handling of my recent scam complaint. Despite providing all requested documents and clearly explaining that I was scammed, the bank closed the case in favor of the scammers, claiming it was an OTP-based transaction.

It is incredibly frustrating to see that my hard-earned money, amounting to ₹37,000, has been lost due to this scam, and the bank has failed to take adequate steps to protect its customers. This experience has not only caused financial loss but also emotional distress. I urge potential customers to be cautious and consider the bank's inadequate response to fraud cases before making any decisions.

worst bank ever

worst bank ever, my international transaction on my debit card were disabled randomly and after speaking to support for 3 hours they couldn’t enable it. now i am stuck in a foreign country and cannot use my card…never using this bank again. worst experience of my life

Subject: Grievance Against Misconduct of ICICI Bank Employee

Dear ICICI bank HOD’s

I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the conduct of one of your employees, Mr. Muthu, currently serving as an Assistant Manager at ICICI Bank.

Several years ago, Mr. Muthu, who was then at the beginning of his career, approached me and earnestly requested my help in opening a bank account with ICICI, pleading for an opportunity to grow in his professional journey. Out of goodwill and compassion, I decided to open an account, believing that I was helping someone build their career.

However, the situation has drastically changed. Mr. Muthu, who once portrayed himself as a humble and sincere employee, has now adopted an entirely different attitude. Recently, I pledged my jewelry at your bank, following Mr. Muthu’s consultation. When I attempted to pre-close the loan, I may not have fully understood the terms and conditions, but the treatment we received was unacceptable. Mr. Muthu humiliated my wife during the process, telling her not to raise her voice in the bank. Ironically, this is the same individual who would rush to open the door for customers arriving in cars.

This experience has been deeply distressing, and I feel compelled to raise a grievance against Mr. Muthu for his unprofessional and demeaning behavior towards my wife. As I am currently out of town, I am writing this email to bring this matter to your attention. If I were present, I would have directly approached the consumer court to address this verbal mistreatment.

I request that you take immediate and appropriate action against Mr. Muthu for his unacceptable behavior. It is disheartening to see such conduct from an employee who was once given an opportunity to grow, only to now misuse his position.

I hope this grievance is taken seriously, and that necessary steps are taken to ensure that no other customer has to endure such disrespect.

UPI payments are very buggy

UPI payments are very buggy - when I enter my ID at merchant, even though ICICI sends me notification but there is no APPROVE option.

In another instance, I tried to make payments - my account got debited but UPI payment did not got completed. Its been a week and money has not been credited back. My RM is asking to make call even though in APP , I clicked 'Raise Query'

I am utterly disappointed with the…

I am utterly disappointed with the service provided by ICICI Bank. Despite multiple escalations, my issues have been consistently mishandled and ignored. The bank's processes are outdated and unnecessarily complicated, causing significant delays and financial losses.

I have experienced repeated poor communication and a lack of empathy from the customer service team, especially in handling the transfer of funds from my matured FD. Their insistence on unnecessary paperwork and refusal to offer any flexibility has only added to the frustration. It’s shocking that in this digital age, ICICI still requires physical forms for processes that should be handled online, particularly when the fault lies entirely with them.

To make matters worse, the delay in resolving my issue has led to a significant financial loss due to unfavorable exchange rates, a problem that the bank has completely ignored. It feels like they are not concerned with the needs of their customers, especially those of us who are NRIs.

Overall, my experience with ICICI Bank has been incredibly stressful, and I would strongly advise others to consider alternative banks that prioritize customer service and modern, efficient processes.

Poorly trained staff

Poorly trained staff . All they know if to ask verfication questions, take query provide any generic response and never follow-up or properly resolve the issue. They waste hours of customer time over phone making them repeat the same thing over and over again and make completely irrelevant suggestions like you are talking to a dumb and deaf person

I am a doctor that works out of a corporate chain of hospitals in Chennai. I use the Teynampet branch for depositing money, after my OPD is over, sometimes late in the evening. For the last two days, we are having significant problems with the security guards who have been very rude and belligerent. The services at ICICI Bank, Teynmapet have always been torrid, at best.

Request that the security guards be taught how to talk to customers, especially during pouring rain. Please DEMARCATE CLEAR AREAS OF PARKING FOR YOUR STAFF AND CUSTOMERSUSING YOUR BANK. I AM NOT EXPECTED TO KNOW WHICH IS THE PARKING FOR YOUR MD, AND AM IN NO WAY RESPONSIBLE IF I AM NOT TOLD. I DO NOT APPRECIATE BEING HOUNDED FROM THE PREMISES FOR NO FAULT OF MINE. I DO NOT KNOW WHO YOUR MD IS, AND HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH HIM. THE BRANCH IS USED FOR DEPOSITING MY HARD EARNED PROFESSIONAL FEES.

KINDLY WORK ON YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE.

I HAVE DECIDED THAT IN FUTURE, MY FAMILY AND I WOULD DESISIT FROM USING THIS BRANCH FOR ANY TRANSACTION, DESPITE BEING LONG TERM ACCOUNT HOLDERS WITH YOU. WE WILL WORK WITH OTHER BRANCHES IN OTHER PARTS OF THE CITY, ANYWAYS.

I have had the worst experience with Loan payment

I have had the worst experience with ICICI bank dealing with their customer care on phone and emails to filing complaint with Ombudsman Team stated by RBI. My case was not properly investigated and result was announced in favour of the bank and while I tried to reach out again about unfair investigation, I was asked to comply with the decision. I will request people to not opt for loans from ICICI Bank as they charge you penalties even if it is not the problem from customer end and no one will the bank will help you apart from giving false promise. I have been facing problem for past 4 months and I highly request to people to not take loan from ICICI bank

I am having an account for almost more than 10 years . On jul 14 i called to cancel the transaction for standing amount i dont want my card to be charged for dr batra as its of no benefit its not even 24 hours .lady told me to block the card to stop these activities but on 3 aug my card got charged for emi which i thought i discontinued.i called again spoke to supervisor jyotling he told me bank cant help me to dispute the transaction or giving my money bank . Now i dont recommended personally to use icici bank they dont help you .

Never open your NRI / NRO account…

Never Ever open your NRI / NRO account in this bank. They charge unfair charges. I had non operative bank account in ICICI because i moved to USA and i called them to close that account too 1 year before and my account was zero. When i wish to open a NRI account then they transferred my Indian account to NRO account and a week later they start charging debit card fees which related to my non operative account. And they charge for everything. No benefits to open NRI account. Tax rate 30% on interest means after all you get same 4-5% same as USA and when you have to transfer back your money to USA you have to fill too many documents for your own money transfer. And charge too much exchange rate diffrence. Never go for that

Very poor service

Very poor service. They confirmed me for a debit card upgrade which is completely free of cost. Later they deducted charges for this. When raised a complaint, they said if you want this card, you'll have to pay the charges. Later they even blocked that card without even taking my consent and re-issuing my earlier original call.

Also their customer care executives are very rude, when they don't have an answer they directly cut the call abruptly.

THIS BANK IS A ZERO

If I could give this bank a Zero I would
It took them 4 weeks for me to see my personal account online
my business account doesn't have interac etransfers
on top of that they keep charging me NSF and I cannot see the transaction it is for. Everytime I have to keep contacting them find out who and what it was for and my personal account also had a NSF which is strange because I never gave that account number to anyone.. This bank is really backwards and is not up to date with its services like other canadian banks ... The only reason I opened it was so that my transfers back and forth to india would be easy but even that has been a Nightmare!! Customer service is useless!! I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS BANK TO ANYONE!!
