I had a pleasant journey, my problems started when my luggage was not transfered to my connecting flight. I had two weeks without my possesions. When it arrived, my suitcase was filthy. I was offered... See more

They wouldn’t send us the bag they lost
On the flight over, they lost our bag. Then they found it three hours after we left the airport and wouldn’t send it to us because they claimed that because it was found in the airport, they didn’t lose it… despite that the staff there couldn’t find it when we asked and reported it lost. Nevermind that we were travelling a further four hours away from the airport.
On the return flight, we were told we could check in our bags four hours before the flight but nobody manned their desks until two hours before.
Customer service impossible to reach.
On top of that, the seats are very cramped. Trash airline. Never again.
The support is an absolute desaster
The support is an absolute desaster. They lost my luggage in Rome ?! and it took me more than 10 phone calls to even get a feedback. Even had to pick up my luggage myself from the airport.
Total service failure
Total service failure – 5 days without my luggage while Iberia did nothing.
"I am beyond frustrated with the appalling service provided by Iberia. On my recent business trip from Spain to Austria (Linz), they lost my suitcase during a connection in Madrid.
The worst part isn't just the loss; it’s the absolute lack of accountability and effort to fix their mistake. Thanks to my GPS tracker, I knew exactly where my bag was at all times. It arrived in Vienna on Tuesday morning, just 2 hours away from my hotel in Linz. Despite my repeated claims, Iberia and their partners didn't bother to deliver it on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday.
I spent my entire work trip without my professional gear and personal belongings. In the end, I had to pick it up myself at the Vienna Airport Lost & Found on my way back home on Saturday. They didn't move a finger for 5 days.
If you value your time, your belongings, and your peace of mind, avoid Iberia. They don't care about their passengers once they’ve sold the ticket. Ruined my trip entirely."
Horrible baggage handling and zero accountability.
LYS–MAD–MIA (11 Jan 2026). Two checked bags didn’t arrive. One was delivered later, but the suitcase is still missing.
The failure wasn’t just losing the bag — it was the complete lack of real tracing. For weeks I asked for basic facts that every airline should be able to provide: last scan, confirmed location, whether it actually arrived to Miami, who had custody, and whether it was handed to the delivery contractor. Iberia would not give a clear answer. Instead I got scripted replies, vague statements like escalated, and long periods with no verified update at all.
They repeatedly ignored direct questions and showed no urgency. I got more usable information by going to MIA in person than Iberia provided through official support channels. That is unacceptable.
As a oneworld Emerald customer, this experience makes the alliance label feel meaningless. In my opinion, oneworld should reconsider Iberia’s membership!
Discriminated against for my disability
Iberia discriminate against people with disabilities. Their customer service team don't care despite breaking EU laws.
I phoned Iberia's disability access team right after booking my flight. I was told that they had seated me with my essential companion - this was weeks in advance. I asked the team at London Heathrow to confirm this when checking in and the team at Madrid airport. Both said we were. When we entered the plane, we were informed the weren't and had to ask someone to move ourselves. Zero assistance in this fight and I couldn't get help to take my medication.
When I was waiting to board my flight from Madrid to Bogota, the staff at the boarding gate looked at me and asked me why I'm in the assistance line. I was wearing my sunflower lanyard. After telling the lady this (older lady with glasses) she made a scowl as though she didn't believe my disability and told me to wait at the end of the queue behind everyone.
Trying to talk to customer service is like they don't read your messages and reply AI. I was talking about Iberia staff and they try pass it off as airport staff without reading my detailed complaint.
If I had know how terrible Iberia was, I would have paid extra to go with someone like Air Canada who are far better.
Avoid at all costs!
We booked tickets from Tenerife to Geneva with a change of planes in Madrid. When we came to Madrid, after reaching the gate that the plane should be leaving from at 10.25 we got an email saying new time for the plane was 10.55. But there was noone at the gate....When checking the Iberia app I saw that they have rebooked us to 20.20- which would have made us loose our connection from Generva to Tromsø! Tried to find an alternative, but all other airlines also had late arrival in Geneva; the only way to get there in time was to book business class tickets from Iberia at a VERY expenive cost (1477 Euros). We finally got to Geneva and reached our connection. When I tried to make a reklamation to Iberia they fobbed me off, one of their responses claiming "denied boarding"; how could you board a flight that was cancelled? And in another mail they claimed circumstances outside their control.... After I contacted a website that specialices in claims against airlines, I got a mail from Iberia that they would refund our airport taxes- a grand total of nearly 23 Euros- I would laugh if I wasn't so angry!
Big peace of shit
Big peace of shit ! They sell more ticket than they have in the plane ... The badest compagnie i ve never see ! We need to close them definitly
I had an excellent experience flying…
I had an excellent experience flying with Iberia Air Company. From the moment I boarded, the service stood out—friendly, attentive, and genuinely professional. The cabin crew went above and beyond to make passengers feel comfortable and well cared for throughout the flight.
The food was another highlight. Fresh, flavorful, and well-presented, it was far better than what you’d expect from an airline meal. It really added to the overall enjoyment of the journey.
Between the excellent service, great food, and smooth flight experience, Iberia Air Company truly delivers quality and comfort. I would absolutely fly with them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a top-tier airline experience. ✈️✨
Worst airline experience of my life
Denied boarding despite arriving on time. At the airport, the operating airline confirmed that Iberia had cancelled our tickets in the system without informing us. No help, no rebooking, no support.
As a result, our return flight was also cancelled due to a so-called “no-show”, even though the outbound flight was missed through no fault of our own. Iberia refused to assist despite weeks to fix the issue.
Worst airline experience I’ve ever had. Zero responsibility, zero customer care. Avoid.
Good luck for your long haul experience.
I have travelled economy many times (most times), but this has been the most low-cost-feeling experience in a long time.
Went from MAD to JFK.
There was no elegance in the flight attendants' voices and gestures. Little to no help to customers. They looked a little careless.
Passengers didn’t help either, they went wild with seat changes and it lasted for over half an hour after the seatbelt sign went off.
About the flight, the screens were the only good thing.
Meals and snacks are okay.
No sleep masks, no earplugs, a very small blanket, the smallest seats for a long-haul flight, your neighbor cannot be overweight; otherwise, he/she’ll inevitably bother you, and you don’t want that on a 6-hour flight.
I am not sure I will book with Iberia for long haul again.
A long haul with a flag carrier should be better than that.
On the way back the staff seemed a bit more experienced and I had a free seat next to me, so it went better.
Got it 👍

Forced downgrade, broken systems, no customer service, flight delayed
Second major failure with Iberia in less than a year.
I had selected and had a specific seat validated (1XA). Despite this, when my boarding pass was issued, a different seat was automatically assigned (23xF).
This was a clear forced downgrade, done without my consent, with no explanation and no way to fix it.
I immediately tried to resolve the situation through every official channel.
None of them worked.
The website was broken, the mobile app unusable, the complaint form blocked even with a valid PNR and ticket number, and WhatsApp support kept returning error messages.
By phone, I was told to wait until the airport.
At Brussels airport, staff were blocked by the system and could not help.
In Madrid, customer service sent me to the gate.
At the gate, I was sent back to customer service, in a rushed and dismissive manner.
I arrived more than 3 hours early to follow Iberia’s instructions, for absolutely no result.
On top of everything, the flight was delayed, with no clear information or assistance.
End result: forced downgrade, zero customer service, all support channels broken, and no accountability.
This is an unacceptable level of dysfunction for an international airline.
LATAM yes. TAP yes.
Iberia, never again.
Appalling customer service, holding Avios points hostage
Appalling customer service, especially for Avios and Iberia Club members.
1. Massive difficulties trying to find prices for 3 flight trip from UK to Peurto Escondido (Mexico). Book individual tickets for the leg between Heathrow & Madrid and it saves you over £500 on the ticket for 6 flights needed but then you have to self transfer which I cannot do as a vulnerable customer with special assistance needs!
2. Terrible instructions online in how to link accounts to see Avios ticket pricing. Phone agents of Iberia and BA do not know how the IT works. their advice that linking accounts would allow flight search with Avios is incorrect. It is necessary to transfer the points to Iberia as well.
3. It does not warn that transferring points back is not possible for 30 days!
4. Iberia are now holding my points hostage and I have missed booking flights directly with BA as a result. There are now no seats available on the flights I needed to book!
5. Iberia don't care they just parrot their rules claiming they can be seen before transfer but they are not available and not clear at the point of transfer which they need to be.
6. Had to call Spanish number at astronomical rates to try to get points back. Agent said this could be done and request will be made for immediate manual transfer back of points to BA.
7. Following day email(from no reply address) says again wait 30 days. but I need them now.
8. No way to reply to email. No email address provided for customer service. No way to create complaint on website without a booking reference.
9. Whatsapp chat in spanish only.
Facebook message responses parrot the same 30 days at you. Ignore request for complaint to be raised.
Dreadful Customer Service
My wife and I travelled business class from Panama via Madrid to London on 29/11/25. We both have Classico Cards and these were shown at check in and we were told they had been noted. On arrival home neither of us had received any Avios points. Missing claim forms were submitted. My wife got hers, but I was told I was not entitled to any points. We have had repeated phone calls, sent them my boarding pass, demonstrating I was on the flight. Even my email to the CEO went unanswered.
The mistake was made by the Iberia check-in person, but Iberia do not want to recognise their problem.
Moral of the story, Iberia customer services are ineffective and it’s not even possible to lodge a complaint on their system.
So beware if you are unfortunate enough to travel with Iberia.
Very poor customer service
Very poor customer service. This day and age how a company still exist this way. I will not be surprised if one day they go bankrupt.
You will lose the will to live
Booking a simple flight is very difficult. Problems with the android app and the website which are too numerous to mention.
Every booking is a hugely frustrating experience.
And then there is calling them on the phone. The most crazy mess ever.
Try to book travel with a pet in the cabin and you will lose the will to live.
Terrible website and user experience
Terrible website and user experience. I was unable to search for flights as the site keeps showing errors, and logging into my account is almost impossible. This has been an ongoing issue, not a one-time glitch. For a major airline like Iberia, this level of technical failure is unacceptable. The website urgently needs improvements. I needed to call several times to Iberiabut without success as they dont able to fix the problem and I cant login into my account.
I flew from Belgium to Madrid and then…
I flew from Belgium to Madrid and then Madrid to Santo Domingo, they lost my luggage and giving the minimum customer service “you need to wait” “your case is scalar” “you can buy basic necessities until we find your luggage but give no amount on what can you spend to buy your clothes” I will never travel with them :)
Iberia refuses EU261 compensation
Company refuses legit Regulation (EC) No 261/2004 EU261 requests, eventhough its an EU law.
That is abolutely ridiculous. We now did have hire a lawyer, to ensure that Iberia pays the compensation for two Tickets, as they should.
Avoid at ALL cost if time means…
Avoid at ALL cost if time means anything to you.
So I boarded IB0125 Madrid-Lima and and we flew about 1, 5 hour before turning the plane back to Madrid. Why? Can't say I know. None of the other passengers undertood either. All we were told is that we will get another plane and a dry sandwich and a bottle of water. All passengers (i don't know, about 150 people) were all trying to contact someone/anyone in charge. No luck. Nothing. What the heck do we do? At around 2030 word started spreading that there will be a plane around midnight. But nobody knew for sure. It actually did. I was so tired I just wanted to sleep. But every 10 minutes the pilot warned about turbulence and to stay seated on full frickin volume. Every 10 minutes the same 30 second crackling message blew out my eardrums. Anyway, arrived in Lima 11 hours late. No apology from the Airline or the staff that eventually showed up. This is definitely an Airline that doesn't take accountability.
The worst customer service I ever…
The worst customer service I ever expected.
My lugage was lost on the way to Peru. They gave me a Whatsapp number but you will chat with a chatbot, every second message is an error message....
Impossible to speak to an agent. That's a way to avoid to pay remboursements to customers.....
