I had a pleasant journey, my problems started when my luggage was not transfered to my connecting flight. I had two weeks without my possesions. When it arrived, my suitcase was filthy. I was offered... See more

worst experience ever
Flight from Berlin to Pamplona and vice versa, Business Class, 1415 € in total
The inbound flight was more or less ok, but in the BC from Madrid to Pamplona they offered just water and ice cream. Please keep in mind that the distance between seats is extremely small, even in BC.
For the outbound flight there was an delay for the flight Pamplona to Madrid by one hour, so I missed the flight to Berlin. The IBERIA counter next to H21 booked me into a flight 24 hours later – within Europe and with 3 flights a day between MAD and BER. As I said this is not acceptable the agent became very rude and arrogant. He refused that there would be any seat available either in BC or Economy for the morning flight. This turned out to be a straight lie, as I booked myself an Economy seat for this flight. Afterwards I went to the main customer counter (staffed with one person!) to ask for refund. After a long waiting time the lady rebooked me into the BC of the morning flight. During my waiting time a suitcase in front of the counter turned out to be unattended. I approached one guy coming from the back of the counter to take care of it. The rude answer was I shall leave him alone, it would be his break. So far about safety.
For the night I got a room in a nearby hotel. The room was ok, but the buffet they offered for IBERIA clients was absolutely bad: strong smelling fish and meat you could use as spare part for your shows. The only drink available was water.
During the morning flight they served breakfast. There was an omelette, some bread and a croissant – no butter, no cheese, no ham and / or marmalade to go with it.
Keeping in mind that I paid more than 1400 € for this experience, I will never ever book an IBERIA flight again. At the end it is the attitude of staff – showing absolutely no care for customers – which made this experience so bad. But the guy lying in my face said “I´m just doing what the airline wants me to do.” So, it seems it is the management behind.
Bad airlines
If there is zero star that’s what I would give this airline .shity service shity airport ,and racist security at check point for no reason .aena suppose to handle complaint but all they do is side with the passport check point security instead of taking care of paying customers, no considerations to families with kids either .i wish i looked at 50000 negative complaints before i got the tickets .add to that they found that people that were handling luggage were stealing from passengers, but instead of trying to fix the problem they blame passengers for lying .if you thinking about booking with this airlines don’t waist your money.
Iberia lost my luggage with my…
Iberia lost my luggage with my medication in it and has done nothing to help me recover it regardless of me telling them how urgent and important it is. Worst airline I flew with, arrogant customer service.
This has been the worst airline…
This has been the worst airline experience I have ever had.
Our luggage never arrived at our final destination last Saturday. We traveled to Spain for a wedding and vacation, but Iberia’s handling of our delayed bags has completely ruined the trip.
We were told that Iberia would not reimburse us for a suit or a formal dress for the wedding, and that only “essential clothing” would be considered. Because our credit cards were also inside the delayed luggage, we were left with no access to money, no medication, no clothing, and no toiletries.
As a result, we had to cancel our wedding plans and miss an important event we traveled all this way to attend.
Thank you, Iberia, for turning what should have been a special wedding and vacation into a stressful and humiliating experience. This is unacceptable, and we need immediate help resolving this situation.
Iberia customer service does not care
Our flight was canceled and we tried contacting Iberia customer service via phone number +34 913 336 701 and were held online for over an hour, transferred us to tree different agents and none of them told us they could not fix the problem but to “stay on the line”. Needless to say the problem was not solved and we ended up on a bus ride from San Sebastian to Madrid (7h) instead of a 1h flight. AVOID IBERIA
What a pile of crap this airline is
What a pile of crap this airline is? Let down again with multiple delays 3 gate changes then finally board 1.5 hrs late and can't go cos of the weather. This is 4th time we have transitted through Madrid and every time they get it wrong. Never again. I will fly a proper airline next time not this Micky mouse sham of an outfit. Useless.
WORST airline and flight experience
This has been the WORST flight experience as I write this review on the delayed flight right now (yes, there’s time because thats how far behind schedule they are). If I can submit a negative rating I would.
After flying with Iberia twice (from London to Madrid and then back), I am extremely disappointed with the overall experience and would NEVER choose the airline again.
Both flights suffered from poor operational management. Both flights departed later than scheduled, but the bigger issue was the chaotic boarding process.
The cabin crew did not manage the overhead luggage space proactively. It was obvious that the bins at the back of the aircraft were already full, yet passengers with large cabin bags were allowed to continue all the way down the aisle before discovering there was nowhere to store them. They then had to struggle back towards the front of the plane, blocking the aisle and delaying boarding for everyone else.
Even more frustrating, after passengers had already found their seats, fastened their seatbelts and settled in, the crew started asking people to get up and move their luggage around the cabin. This disturbed not only those passengers but also the people seated next to them. Rather than actively assisting, the air hostess simply watched passengers try to rearrange the bags themselves.
This should have been managed during boarding, not after everyone was seated. A well-organised cabin crew should direct passengers to available space as they board and help prevent these avoidable disruptions.
For a major international airline, I expected a much higher standard of organisation and customer service. The lack of proactive management created unnecessary stress and contributed to an inefficient and frustrating travel experience.
Formal Complaint Regarding Recent Iberia Flight from Bogotá to Madrid
Formal Complaint Regarding Recent Iberia Flight from Bogotá to Madrid
I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with my recent flight with Iberia from Bogotá to Madrid. This was, without exaggeration, the worst travel experience I have had in the last ten years.
The problems started at check-in in Bogotá. My luggage had been professionally wrapped for protection due to its fragile condition, yet I was required to remove the wrapping. The staff showed little empathy or willingness to explain the process properly. Communication was also extremely difficult, as the personnel I interacted with spoke only Spanish, making it challenging for international passengers to receive assistance.
Unfortunately, the poor experience continued throughout the journey. The ground staff appeared indifferent and unhelpful, while several interactions felt unnecessarily rude and dismissive.
On board, the level of service was far below what I would expect from a major international airline. The cabin crew seemed understaffed and largely unavailable. Whenever the assistance button was pressed, it often took a very long time for anyone to respond, and when a crew member finally arrived, the interaction felt rushed and uninterested.
It was also noticeable that some crew members spent significant periods resting in the crew area while passengers struggled to receive basic assistance. On the occasions when I went to the rear galley to request help directly, the attitude was cold and unfriendly.
During a flight of more than nine hours, passengers were served only one main meal and a sandwich before landing. Furthermore, there were no regular water rounds, and passengers were largely left to request refreshments themselves. The quality of the food was also disappointing.
To make matters worse, seat selection was charged even during check-in, and despite this, I ended up with very poor seating arrangements.
Overall, I experienced a consistent lack of customer care, professionalism, and attention throughout the entire journey. This experience has seriously damaged my confidence in Iberia, and unless significant improvements are made, I do not intend to travel with the airline again.
DO NOT BOOK FROM IBERIA
I am extremely disappointed with my recent booking experience with Iberia.
I booked and paid for flights to Tokyo directly through Iberia. After payment was taken, I received a booking confirmation and a booking reference. The confirmation email stated that the e-tickets would be sent separately.
After waiting for over an hour and receiving no e-ticket, I checked the booking online and found that the reservation was not properly issued. I then called customer service and was told that the payment had not gone through, despite the charge already appearing on my bank account. I was subsequently told that the flight was no longer available.
This makes no sense. If the flight was unavailable, why was Iberia still selling it online and why was payment accepted? Even after my call, the same flight continued to be available for sale on the website.
What is most frustrating is that Iberia did not proactively notify me that the ticket had not been issued. Customer service advised that there was no need to send an email informing customers that their booking could not be ticketed. This left me having to discover the problem myself and spend time contacting the airline.
I am now left waiting for a refund despite Iberia taking payment and failing to provide the ticket purchased. The lack of communication, poor customer service, and failure to properly manage ticket availability have made this a very disappointing experience.
I expected much better from a major international airline.
Worse than Ryanair
Decided to move my business over to IB from BA given I was taking a lot more IB metal flights. It has been a disaster from a loyalty program perspective. Non-existent customer service. Literally worse than Ryanair.
Stop spamming mailbox
I had only one flight in my life 9 years ago. The experience was not great but what is so annoying is that they keep spamming my mailbox. I have requested dozen of times to unsubscribe from their communication and they keep sending me. Fun fact: they think I speak Spanish. Iberia fix your systems
Where do I even begin?
Where do I even begin?
Was it the 3+ hour flight delay? The chaotic boarding process that involved being herded up and down multiple flights of stairs, packed onto a bus, driven across the tarmac, and forced to board in 100-degree heat like cattle? Or the additional hour spent sitting on the tarmac before takeoff?
Maybe it was the 13+ hour flight in seats so cramped that my knees were pressed into the seat in front of me the entire time. Or the fact that after sleeping through the meal service, the only sustenance I received for the remainder of the flight was two small cups of water and a couple bags of crackers.
Then, after finally landing, we sat on the runway for another hour.
But the true icing on the cake was customer service.
Exhausted, jet-lagged, and in significant discomfort after this ordeal, I accidentally left my iPad on the aircraft. I know exactly where I left it. I know the seat number. I can literally track the device as it flies back and forth between Madrid and Los Angeles. Yet nobody at Iberia seems remotely interested in helping recover it. The few times I can reach an actual human being, each interaction has been met with indifference and bureaucratic shrugs.
The delays were frustrating. The boarding process was miserable. The seats were uncomfortable. But what makes this a one-star experience is the complete absence of customer care when something goes wrong.
If I never fly Iberia again, it will be too soon.
I am extremely disappointed with Iberia lack of flexibility
I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Iberia. I paid approximately $6,800 for two First Class tickets and later needed to reschedule the flights. The Iberia website does not provide a practical option to make the change online, forcing customers to contact customer service.
After waiting on hold for nearly an hour, I was informed that changing the flights would cost an additional $3,000 per ticket. The proposed change fee and fare difference were so excessive that purchasing entirely new tickets would have been less expensive.
For an airline charging premium fares, I expected significantly better customer service and more reasonable flexibility options. The lack of practical rescheduling alternatives and the extremely high change costs make customers feel trapped after making their purchase.
Based on this experience, I believe Iberia's change policies are unfair and not aligned with the level of service one would expect when paying thousands of dollars for premium-class travel.
I want to add luggage to my flight
I want to add luggage to my flight. It doesnt allow me to on their website. Despite advising this. I have been trying to contact them on the website and social media. Keep getting an error message from a bot that claims its overwhelmed and cant help. Worst customer service ever!!
Booked four flights with his airline…
Booked four flights with his airline not one was on their actual plane.
Never fly with this airline. They partner with level air. The plane had no airflow. No individual air controls. Both companies should be put out of business.
Maybe a budget option but the extra $100 will be worth It.
I would have rather swam across the pond.
It's almost impossible to reach or talk…
It's almost impossible to reach or talk to after booking the international flight !!! Simple things like selecting the seat or food, etc NOTHING IS POSSIBLE !!!!@ IM EXTREMELY VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS AIRLINES !!!UHHHHHHHH
Terrible customer service and unclear pet reservation process
I bought tickets from Amsterdam to Caracas with Iberia, and since the moment I purchased the tickets I have been trying to arrange a reservation for my two dogs.
The whole process has been extremely frustrating. Every time I contact customer service, I receive different information. One employee says one thing, another says something completely different. The reservation was also entered incorrectly several times. As a passenger, I can only see that two dogs are reserved, but I cannot clearly see whether they are booked in the cabin or in the hold.
After many phone calls and back-and-forth conversations, things still kept going wrong. At one point, they even changed the reservation from two dogs to only one dog. Instead of helping properly, some staff members became irritated and rude.
What makes it even worse is that Iberia cannot clearly tell me in advance how much I will have to pay. Apparently, I will only know the final price when I arrive at the airport. So until the day of travel, I am left with uncertainty about both the reservation and the cost.
This is unacceptable, especially when travelling with animals, because you need clear confirmation and peace of mind. The service has been chaotic, unclear and stressful from start to finish.
I would not recommend flying with Iberia if you are travelling with pets.
Worthless Airline
Worthless 'manage your booking' website that never works, only in 'simulation'. If you call the booking customer care to make changes to your flight, which I already paid much more for to have the flexible options on the ticked, they are still going to charge 35 Euro's management fee. Iberia is a scamming airline that is milking their customers.
Worst ever
Worst ever. It's the second time that online check-in is not working and they change the flight time without informing. I woudl give 0 stars but unfortunately 1 star is the minimum.
Customer service is completely useless
I purchased a ticket with British Airways, with flights operated by Iberia. On one of the flights, I got downgraded from Premium Economy to Economy and was aked to make the claim online. Customer service is completely useless and even more frustrating. On the phone they are not able to raise a claim, and their website doesn't work correctly when the ticket hasn't been purched from Iberia. It was particularly bad, that the person on Iberia customer phone customer service hang up on me, beacuse she was not willing to accept that the website is not working.
