Orca Institute 

As a recent graduate of Orca Institute's Counselling program, I can confidently say that I had an incredible experience throughout my journey. The program was highly informative, and provided me with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in my future career.

My supervisor at Orca Institute is one of the most compassionate and knowledgeable professional I have ever met. They provided a deep understanding of a wide range of counselling theories, techniques, and therapies. The program was tailored to help me develop my counselling skills by providing practical assignments and group work that stimulated critical thinking.

What I appreciated the most about the counselling program was the focus on self-awareness. The program encouraged me to become the best version of myself, not only for my benefit but also for the benefit of my clients. As a result, I became more self-aware, reflective, and empathetic towards others.

The practicum component of the program was the highlight of my experience It allowed me to work with real clients under the guidance of a seasoned supervisor and receive constructive feedback. This not only enhanced my clinical skills but also boosted my confidence as a counsellor.

Overall, I am grateful for the incredible experience and knowledge that Orca Institute provided me. It has equipped me with the skills and confidence needed to make a positive impact in the lives of my future clients. I would highly recommend this program to anyone looking for a dynamic and transformative counselling education.

The Orca training course was excellent. It was an educational and personal growth experience. The supervision for the counselling practice hours was exceptional. The coursework is demanding; however, it is what one should expect from a course designed to prepare you to register as an RTC.

I am so grateful to Sheldon and Diane for making this program available to OTG students, they made it possible for so many of us to get our RTC through ACCT. They are both extremely helpful, gracious, kind, compassionate, and supportive. i recommend this program to anyone interested in becoming a therapeutic counsellor.

What contributed to this a great experience was the promptness in which my call's or emails were returned.

The experience, course, and teacher is very well versed in counselling. From the start to the end of course I felt supported at all levels of learning. I was given real life advise that I feel will take me a long way and like Diane said from the start, watch how you grow through the course. I feel that the connections made along with the reflective learning that I was able to soak up really helped create a solid foundation for which to continue my growth in this journey. My experience with Orca was so supportive.I felt cared for.I never felt like a number.They helped me through my schooling step by step .I feel successful in my future due to the extensive supportive training.

For online training Orca provided both a supportive, educational and interpersonal approach. Orca's foundation of Person Centred focus was especially in tune with a compassionate and strength based approach to the counselling venture. I am still involved with Orca through supervision and looking forward to taking other trainings in the future.

I was taking the online supervision course. Diane was a very caring and professional instructor. During the Zoom meeting, I was inspired by the sharing of other students and her advices. It was a closed small group. It allows us to share our concerns regarding our direct client contact. I highly recommend Orca to those are interested in counselling and hypotherapy training. Thanks.

Very much enjoyed the Counselling Skills Diploma Program at Orca Institute. Orca provides a supportive opportunity for learning essential skills, concepts, and a pathway to deep Self work along the way. Sheldon is up to date and informative with current industry regulation progress and readily available for assistance. Diane Auld is a wealth of wisdom and provides a safe, compassionate and encouraging environment with supervision. The online format allows for convenience in scheduling and the group supervision brings students together in sharing and connecting in a supportive space. The coursework was interesting, extensive, and well thought out. Anyone considering the program, you will take away essential knowledge and skills to support you in your couselling work, as well as a new pathway to self reflection and awareness. Thoroughly appreciated the experience. :)

For my needs, Orca was a great experience. Both Diane and Sheldon were supportive in identifying what I needed as an individual to prepare me for ACCT registration. I had some previous counselling training/experience prior to the program and was grateful through Orca to have access to learning about new (to me) and diverse counselling approaches, as well as opportunities to stretch and grow my skills through supervision. I found that I was able to go deeper with course material that I found really interesting, and cover foundationals with approaches I didn't resonate with as much.
The majority of the program is self study "book work" so self-motivation is a must. Accessing connection and bringing the coursework to life is achieved through online group Supervision zoom calls, though the instructor, Diane, makes herself quite accessible to students for support outside of these calls as well. What stands out to me as the program's greatest strength is the Supervision. Diane has a calm and connected way of providing feedback to students which honours their strengths while also identifying their growth edges. She is also fun and spunky and doesn't take herself too seriously. Diane is masterful--she has a lot of depth in her skill set as well as many practical golden nuggets of wisdom to share to budding counsellors.

The Basic Hypnotherapy course at Orca Institute is a great way to be introduced the concepts of hypnosis and to basic therapy skills. By the end of the course, I can say I have a solid ability to conduct an hypnosis session and to assist a client to access a trance state. The videos and the weekend classes with Diane were interesting and resourceful. I also enjoyed getting to know other classmates during practice sessions. I highly recommend the course for anyone interested in learning basic hypnotherapy skills.

I found Orca to be very accommodating and fair. Also the information about Counselling becoming regulated soon in BC is up-to-date and extremely important to know.

The Counselling Hypnotherapy course was great and I learned a lot. I'm looking forward to starting the Counselling Diploma, soon!

If you're looking for a great school that offers diploma courses on your own time and one where you can start at any time without waiting...I highly recommend considering this College.

The Counselling Skills program is a program that every person that wants to be a counsellor should take. The way the program is set-up and the interaction and support is elite. You will learn to be a deeper, more focused, well rounded person and future counsellor. This program has been a highlight of my educational experience. I would recommend and encourage anyone to choose this school over all others.

I highly recommend Orca Institute to anyone who is thinking of pursuing certification as a counsellor. The course work in incredibly interesting, the cohort is fully supportive and the supervisors are beyond knowledgeable. I definitely recommend Orca Institute.

I just completed the Counselling skills program with the Orca Institute. I feel I received an excellent education, with well researched and relevant material through an online format that allowed me to move at my own pace. My contact with Diane Auld, my course supervisor, was delightful and insightful. She has a wealth of experience in all things counselling and everything to do with the program. Sheldon Bilsker was informative in regards to what is happening in the regulation of the counselling profession in BC.
There were minor glitches with some of the material but this was quickly and easily remedied.
I highly recommend this course to anyone wishing to further their counselling career.

I give Orca Institute 5 stars because of the rich learning environment it provided even though it was done online, and it went far beyond books and essays, bringing in the true essence of being human.
