Whilst I am generally happy with the mattress, it flattened a lot more in the middle a lot more quickly than I expected- ie, in a couple of weeks - such that I was rolling into the middle. I weigh 8st 9lb and I would have expected the mattress to be made to support much heavier weights without flattening so quickly. I have tried restricting myself to the sides of the mattress and, after several weeks the sides have not flattened as much as the centre so I assume this is the result of uneven fill. I had the John Lewis technician inspect the mattress and he said he could do nothing as the flattening in the middle was less than 4cm. His solution was to put a folded sheet underneath the centre of the mattress to offset the sag. Whilst this was fine, I need to rotate the mattress once a week and it's too heavy for me to lift to ensure the folded sheet is correctly placed. It's probably all screwed up in a ball now after several rotations, but I am not strong enough to be able to check. I also suffer some low level back pain when I get up in the morning, which I certainly didn't expect from a new orthopaedic mattress. Comparing it to the 30 year old mattress I sent for recycling (Staples), it's very little better. Wish I'd gone for the trial period!

No more back aches ,problem is we have a job getting out of bed in the morning as it is so comfatable.

I saved and saved for a Hypnos after sleeping in one at a friend's house 4 years ago. So 4 years later i'd managed to get enough together and ordered one. It arrived in Oct and I had a weeks good sleep. I was delighted. Then my back began to ache. I turned the matress. Better. Since when, its spun turned spun until me and the matress are dizzy. (im 75 female and its extremely difficult for me ) I sleep across it,at the bottom,diagonally. Nope.... im now sleeping in a chair. If I sleep on the matress I cant move without severe pain for hours. Until the strong pain killers I got from doctor kick in. I'm so disappointed. It will take me years again to save for a new one from my pension. Please dont buy one of these "Cotton Comfort." Save your money. Looking at other reviews,there is obviously no point in going through the complaints procedure.im in far to much back pain to cope with the stress for no reason other than a once excellent company telling me to get lost. Well, it is a bold statement when any company states "the best in the world". Finally, at last, Hypnos bed we recently purchased is truly the best bed we have purchased or tried whilst travelling. From the first night up to 3 months later we cannot believe how comfortable it is.

The bed is very comfortable and I sleep a straight 8 hours, way above expectations.

We had a Harrison and Spinks mattress but upgraded to a Hypnos one. Unfortunately I have incurred morning back pain and have probably chosen the wrong one.

Purchase experienced was unrushed and provided by helpful knowledgeable staff. I tried many variants to get the right selection.
The mattress chosen was a Cotton Options and has proved to be a very comfortable choice, offering full body support and relaxing nights sleep.
I am very pleased with the mattress and experience with the seller, Grove Bedding.

The mattress is excellent. Slept for more than a month and it does reduce back pain. My sleep quality improved greatly.

They replaced the firm mattress with one slightly softer with no questions. The new one fits the contours of my body with good support.

Hypnos was very good and efficient to deal with on the ordering. I would have liked more information on the firmness of the bed e.g. a score out of 10 as on Which? I chose my new mattress described as Medium Firm but it is actually softer than I expected. However, it is still very comfortable and I've decided to keep it. The delivery side went ok but seemed a bit unprofessional e.g. very late text on a Sunday evening for delivery the following day. However, the delivery guys were apparently efficient (I was out so it was my husband who they dealt with).

Purchased bed from John Lewis. Very comfortable with clear easy to follow maintenance guides. Made in Britain as well.

Sent wrong mattress and then sent a mattress with a stain on it

Our new Hypnos mattress is a huge improvement, very comfortable and not too heavy to turn and rotate.
An excellent quality product all round.

Sleep perfection! It's hard to describe the difference the mattress and protector have made to my sleep, or even just lying in bed reading. It's a firm mattress so my back has been a lot better since it arrived, and the protector makes it feel luxurious. Absolutely faultless.

This bed is so comfortable, from day one it's been wonderful. We sleep well and pain I was once in had improved dramatically. Wish I'd have bought it years ago.

We brought a £1800 Hypnos double mattress from Lucas furniture in Aylesbury, it came with a ten year guarantee. After 2 years 2 oblong depressions started to appear where the hips lie both sides of the bed. As stated in the Hypnos care booklet we contacted Lucas who arranged for an inspection to be carried out by a company called Castelan,on behalf of Hypnos . When the report came back it stated there was no manufacturing fault but the fault was caused by “the padding shifting due to constant sitting on the affected areas”.

After reading numerous and virtually identical cases on review sites like trustpilot and by which time the mattress was so poor with dipping of 100mm it had become unusable, we had to replace it so we decided to have the old mattress dissected.

The padding layer showed no damage or movement, the cause of the failure is that the individual springs are manufactured into single rows of pockets, these rows are then stuck together with 3 tiny beads of glue. This bonding has failed allowing the rows of pocket springs to come apart and tilt, leading to total collapse of the mattress. This element of the mattress looks very mass produced and far from the handmade image of Hypnos
We sent these findings to Lucas who in their reply ignored them but instead offered to sell us a replacement for £1500 !.

Hypnos ,Lucas and Castelan have tried almost everything to deny and deflect any responsibility to an obvious and not unique manufacturing fault and so I can only say it is a poorly made mattress with a worthless 10 year Guarantee

I see from Hypnos reply they completely ignored the fault we highlighted

Absolutely appalling quality. This Hypnos mattress started sinking far sooner than it ever should have, and it’s only gotten worse with time. What was supposed to be a premium, supportive product has turned into a lumpy, uncomfortable mess that leaves me dreading going to bed knowing that I’m going to waking up with aches every morning. My hips hurt so much it makes it hard to walk. I never had this issues before this mattress!

For the price, £2,600 I expected durability and proper support — not a mattress that feels worn out after such a short period. It’s completely unacceptable, especially from a brand that claims to offer high-end craftsmanship.

To make matters worse, trying to address the issue has been frustrating and unproductive. It feels like there’s little accountability once the purchase is made.

Overall, a hugely disappointing experience. I would strongly advise others to think twice before investing a Hypnos mattress.
