Robbers!

I wrote a 25 bucks bundle friday like 4 pm. Almost 48 hours later, my reward wasn´t given. It is the worst app i´ve ever used! Don´t fall on it´s trap, be careful!

I paid for very short ASCII strings you say you have. How hard can this be?

The bundles have generally still been giving me what I paid for (and now I suppose publishers who care about their reputations have everything to do with that), but after finding a rare opportunity to dig through my old purchases, I was heartbroken to find out what I was funding. The subscription which seemed fine from 2018 to 2021 has been dark-patterning me out of claiming what I purchased in more recent years while I was occupied with weighty matters. They hiked the price of my Classic plan subscription this year without giving me any kind of notice (which they are obligated to do by their own ToS, which they also didn't notify me of when they changed it to make things substantially worse for slowpokes like myself in late 2024). I was also given no prior notice of many keys that expired for games I had anticipated highly and had every reason to assume I had already purchased ("yours to own forever", state most of the ads between 2022 and 2024--wording that probably does mean perpetual access from a legal standpoint--including at least one month showcasing one of these self-destructing keys)--in fact to this day you still need to go a few clicks deep into the interface, which you'd probably only do to make a claim, to actually find your first hint the key expires at all (which is seemingly the new norm, in recent months). A number of old keys are basically not possible to redeem even though they're already paid for; there's just an empty promise years later that they're still trying to get more. An interface change coinciding with a change to the subscription in early 2022 made it more onerous to inspect which of your monthly subs still has unclaimed and/or expiring keys from the simple list of unclaimed keys in your account.

So normally, what do you call it when a business takes your money, won't deliver the goods, and even obfuscates which goods they won't deliver? Yeah, that's what I thought. I don't know what they think they're doing, but it's not clever. For now? Do not get Humble Choice, not that it's been the tempting offer lately that it used to be. This is not about them secretly raising me the $3 they implied they never would in 2019 (yes, there's only a weak argument for that, yet their ToS still links to a page that kind of says that) so much as it's about a product that set favorable yet reasonable expectations that they have no real intention of meeting any more. I've been there since the first HIB which was DRM-free and stuff; this wasn't really a problem for the first 10 years or so under riskier practices and sleepier markets, so it's clearly not impossible to do it right.

Finally, the UI burying and restricting the former ability to freely allocate funds between charity, publisher, and Humble on the bundles should really make Ziff Davis ashamed of itself. But I reckon it won't.

Look, if a regulator won't take a look at this increasingly sour operation any time soon, at least it's still within the reach of publishers, consumers, and charities to say no--publicly. Tell your friends.

Poor customer service

I tried to buy a bundle. Stripe declined my credit card with no reason given. My card issuer say they saw the transaction and authorized it.

I created a ticket with Humble support and a day later get a stock email offering useless advice I had already found on their web site.

I responded stating again there was nothing wrong with the card or details entered and my card issuer authorized the transaction. I asked them to find out why Stripe declined the card and...... crickets.

Judging by many of the posts here maybe I dodged a bullet.

Humble Bundle will take your money

Humble Bundle will take your money and not give you any way to download your items. I just bought a HUGE bundle and was promised a direct download link, was never given one. I have no way of reading them or get a refund.

Humble Bundle used to give great games and you got to give to charity, but it seems since IGN got their hands on Humble the games have been terrible plus they use a spot for a game for IGN monthly subscription. there are also time limits on keys and some are for free to play games. cancel

Humble Gamble: Changed for the worst

Humble Bundle used to give me a feel good experience, alerting me of charities and allowing me to get games I want while doing a good thing.
However recent changes have meant I no longer trust the company.
They keep selling keys they don't have, meaning you pay monthly or annually, and when you attempt to unlock a brand new key, it says they're exhausted the moment they've opened up that months bundle. That isn't buying, that's gambling.

Newer keys have a time limit and are out of stock the entire time, so they run out before I ever had a chance to get a key: what did I buy?
When I try to 'skip a month', my annual bill date isn't pushed back to reflect it. As a result, skipping a month means losing a month you paid for. I tried to skip 2 months so they owe me 2 months of game bundles, which I know I won't get based on their poor responses to tickets.

When cancelling a subscription it asks your reason but doesn't even have a 'send' button, so they clearly don't care about our experiences wow.

I no longer trust the company. Their game options are mostly trash anyway.

So I’ve generally been happy with their store until I’ve been trying to redeem a game for months and it keeps saying ‘temporarily exhausted’. They currently have this game as part of another bundle so I know they have keys. I’ve reached out multiple times and they basically dodge the question and keep giving me a generic response. Not a great business model.

Horrible experience with Humble Bundle

Horrible experience with Humble Bundle. They charged me twice for the September subscription. I asked for a refund of the extra charge, but they never refunded me and even removed the games from my Steam account.

Basically, I paid and got nothing. Support is slow and didnt refund me. For now ill wait for a response, for a full refund of both charges, i dont want the games anymore.

Nice and cheap!

Always love buying when part of it goes to charity.
As for the actual purchase, it was a game I really liked that’s quite old and i got it for dirt cheap. Steam code came in seconds later and I was super happy with my purchase.

STAY AWAY FOR NEW RELEASES

I attempted to purchase a copy of Hollow Knight Silksong from them as Steam was down. They were happy to take my money before informing me that 'keys were out of stock' without providing a timeline for when they would be back. Do not purchase games through them, as they do not inform you prior whether or not the product you are about to purchase is even available.

Selling keys they don’t actually have but quick to refund

I ordered a game and they sent the code however when I went to download it I was told the keys were exhausted despite the site saying they were still selling it.

I was told they would update me as to when the game is available however a few weeks later still nothing. To be fair I asked for a refund to but it elsewhere and within the hour the refund was with me. Can't really fault the service but a little disappointed that they are selling codes they don't have.

Would I use them again, yes. I purchased from them before and had no issues and the fact the refund was paid so quickly with no arguments gives me faith that they'll do the right thing if it happens again.

"Keys are temporarily exhausted for this product" — a Sisyphean task: Still no resolution!

After paying the full price for the game, I received an error telling me that I cannot redeem it because all "keys are temporarily exhausted for this product". This is completely unacceptable — don't sell a key if you don't actually have it in stock! Nobody wants to go through the headache of waiting and then having to request a refund or wait for one because the distributor messed up.

EDIT 1: Sadly, I now also encountered the exact same error message while trying to redeem my Humble Choice codes. This site has become completely unreliable: 2 out of my 9 games are currently irredeemable. That means 22% of my order is inaccessible while I'm left waiting for the Humble Bundle overlords to finally bless me with my keys. Inacceptable!

EDIT 2: The month has now come to an end — the new bundle has already been available for several days. And guess who still can’t get the remaining keys because they’re "temporarily exhausted"?…That’s right: my poor soul! At this point, I’m seriously wondering whether I will ever get the remaining keys, or if I should just file a complaint with my local consumer protection authority. This way of doing business can't be legal.

... just imagine going to the gas station, getting charged for a full tank in advance - only to get 80% with the polite notice to just come back in a few days to collect the remaining amount of gas: no clear timeline and no guarantee that you’ll ever actually receive the remaining 20%.

Scammers

I got double charged on humble choice, I tried to get a refund but they said no as id claimed the games (but not used the keys). I tried to open a dispute with my credit card company, so the support person at humble removed a bunch of games from a previous bundle from my account which I’d paid for but hadn’t used the keys yet - just to mess with me!

They’re basically criminals and there’s nothing you can do about it.
