THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS

THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS, SPECIALLY THE PHILIPPINES ONE. AS UP MAY 31, 2026, I HAD NOT RECEIVE MY ID CARD OR THE DEBIT CARD FOR OTC AND THE PLAN STARTED ON MAY 1ST. I HAD DONE SEVERAL REQUEST, LIKE 10 PLUS AND THEY HAD NOT SEND THE STUPID CARD. I DO NOT KNOW IF THEY ARE DOING THIS SINCE I AM ON A VETERAN PLAN AND I AM THE SONSOR/ THE VETERAN AND THEY DO NOT CARE, SINCE I CAN GO TO A VA FACILITY OR CHARGED VA. I HOPE THAT IS NOT THE CASE, BECAUSE THEY WILL LOSE MY WIFE AND I, REGARDLESS OF THE EXTRA MONEY THEY SEND BACK FOR MEDICARE. UHC GAVE LESS, BUT LESS HEADACHES, EXCEPT THAT THEIR VERSION OF SILVER SNEAKRRS SUCKS, SINCE THEY ONLY PAY FOR THE BASIC AND MASSAGE MACHINES WERE NOT INCLUDED AND HUMANA HAD MORE THAN THE BASIC. Problem started befire May 1st. And my address was not complete from the beggining, but ironically my wife's was correct, we live in same house and we repeat the address many times, befire the application was approved.

Humana Medicare-Network inaccuracy and inadequate service provided

I have spent several days and many hours trying to find a qualified in-network primary care physician under my Humana Medicare PPO plan. The process has been extremely frustrating and disappointing.

The provider directory appears to be inaccurate and incomplete. I found doctors listed as participating providers who were no longer providing services under my plan. I also found incorrect phone numbers, incorrect addresses or locations, and at least one provider whose office appeared to be closed, with the listed phone number no longer in service.

One specific example involved Alexandria Alvarez, MD. She was listed as an in-network PCP, so I made an online appointment. Afterward, I learned that she was not actually in-network under my plan.

Another major issue is the lack of useful credential information in Humana’s provider directory. The directory often does not clearly show medical school, residency training, board certification status, years in practice, hospital affiliations, or whether the doctor personally sees patients at the listed location. I had to spend hours searching outside websites just to find basic information about providers listed in Humana’s own directory.

The available PCP options in my area also appear heavily concentrated in large, high-volume clinic systems such as Conviva, UniVida, Cano, and similar organizations. That may work for some members, but it does not meet what I am looking for in a primary care relationship.

I also tried to find a PCP affiliated with Baptist Health and was told that Baptist Health PCP services are no longer in-network under my Humana Medicare PPO plan and would have to be treated as out-of-network.

I also had concerns with Humana customer service. When I called to add a PCP, the representative did not provide a reference or confirmation number. In another prior situation involving an urgent care billing issue, a Humana representative failed to inform me about the appeal process.

Overall, searching for a qualified in-network PCP through Humana has been a waste of valuable time. A provider directory should be accurate, current, and useful. Members should not have to investigate every listed doctor on the internet just to determine whether the provider is actually in-network, reachable, properly credentialed, and currently practicing.

Based on this experience, I am seriously considering changing plans during the next enrollment period.

Terrible people, useless phone system

My cardiologist prescribed a medication for atrial fibrillation. He ordered a 90 day supply. Humana would only give me a 30 day supply because they said it was a high risk drug. I have accepted that for almost a year now. I called Humana asked to have it changed since I will be going to Europe and be gone over 30 days. It took me 3 phone calls to get to the Prior Authorization Department. The first person I talked to transferred me and I got someone trying to sell me on their own pharmacy service then got transferred to someone trying to sell me a life alert gadget. I finally got to the right person and told them my problem they said they would contact my doctor for me. Within an hour I got an email from Humana saying my request was denied. I called them back after going through the same useless chat bots and ads, they said I could appeal the denial and took all my information again and asked why I could not be using another drug. I explained I have a certain kind of afib that the other drugs did not work on. I gave them all the information over and gave them my cardiologist number. I called my cardiologist and they immediately called Humana and were told they would not give me a 90 day supply, but I could get a vacation over ride. None of the Humana people had told me about that. The Humana reps were not at all helpful and impossible to understand their accents. I had said I would take their survey my remaining on the line after the call. The Humana rep told me I should hang up because they don’t do surveys. He would not hang while I waited on the line. I assume he didn’t want me to participate in the survey. The company is absolutely horrible. I can’t wait for the enrollment period to come so I can drop them

Humana Medicare so far has been very…

Humana Medicare so far has been very difficult to work with. I have been non-ambulatory for almost 1 year. Just a day I had gotten off at my fire department job feeling well, that night I became Altered, feverish, incoherent and was transported to my hospital of choice. This was the last week of May 2025. Was admitted to ICU, Septic and had mild MI. After a short stay in ICU, I was transferred to an extended care facility for PT. Within a week or so, I developed a major arterial lower GI Bleed and was transported back to the ER. After GI surgery and 6units of blood, it was back to the ECF. So it was about 2 months being non-ambulatory. During this spell I was on commercial insurance which was great.

Now, I had to take my retirement from a state agency and change insurance. Being 65, got onto Medicare through PeHip (Alabama Teachers Retirement provider). Started off great until they were planning on cutting me off for PT/OT and nursing visits. On appeal (mind you I am now only to stand with assistance but require wheelchair mobility. After the appeal, I received a letter from Humana saying that my therapist and nursing visits would continue until July.

Well, got word today that Humana was cutting me off effective this week, as well they didn’t pay anything on my April visits as well.

Will be filing an appeal with Humana as well as my retirement system and possibly an attorney. Can’t wait for open enrollment to come back around.

Run!!

Run!!

1st issue. I received annoying telemarketing calls every day (yes, every day) begging me to switch from CVS to Humana Pharmacy (Center well Pharmacy).

After months of being harassed, I changed my Diltiazem (blood pressure) medication - 90-day supply from CVS to Humana.

After two weeks, I started feeling horrible, worse than when I had COVID. I assumed that I had the flu because others around me had the flu.

After 3.5 weeks, I went to the ER with blood pressure 260/110. The ER was able to regulate my blood pressure while I was there. After leaving, it couldn't be regulated. I went to the ER again. I was prescribed an additional blood pressure medication to take to get my blood pressure down.

I'm now on 2 blood pressure medications, as a result. And, I've had consistent heart palpitations since then.

I'm convinced that the medication prescribed wasn't real. I contacted S. Fullen (Pharmacy) to advise of the reaction that I had with the medicine. He informed me that he would open a MedWatch complaint. I followed up to request the Med watch complaint number and to have the medication tested and he ignored my emails and hasn't responded to date. I had to open my own Med Watch complaint to request the medication be tested.

2nd issue - Humana sells their customer's information to random affiliates, who call and stalk you to take on their services. Signify Health, and many other companies. Even, after you ask them to stop calling. And they get an attitude with you like they're offended.

I will not be reenrolling with Humana next year because I want to live and don't like being harassed!

Humana needs to update the list of Doctor

Humana needs to update the list of doctors, as the one they provide is wrong and irrelevant. Humana GOld Plus is a half decent Medicare advantage plan. HOwever, their list of doctors is irrelevant, as most of the doctors listed DO NOT ACCEPTHUMANAGOLD PLUS. They need to update their list of doctors.

Beware of what Humana say's and in the…

Beware of what Humana say's and in the fine print . I did research on there Dental insurance during Medicare enrollment and I talked to 2 different agents and they stated that you got 2500.00 for in-network and out of-network (both the same ) . If you go on their and read 2026 DENF75 chart it says the same thing ,100 percent for in-network and 100 percent for out of-network for your 2500.00 on 90 percent of dental codes l, but when yo go back to the per say small print it says may be limitations. So I called and on out of work-network they will only pay what they feel it cost and if your out of -network Dentist is higher then you pay the difference so, no they do not do 100 percent. In-network and out of-network are not the same as listed on the DENF2026 . In Medicare enrollment you are screwed cause you have no way of actually knowing what it will be even if you call Humana because they don't know till it starts the new year . Shady to say the least . My Mom's bill was 2000.00 she had to pay 1200.00 :( . BEWARE @ Medicare enrollment and read all fine print and call . Just beware of all out of -network insurance pays and ask a ton of questions . I will throw Aetna a bone lol , at list they tell you up font you are getting screwed for out of-network (excuse my typonese I am no typer)

Don't do it, look for a PPO

We had Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield which was excellent. We made the mistake of going with you Mana it's been nothing but a nightmare, we have to pay for everything that we didn't have to pay for before, and the representative that sold this lied about everything. HMO really bad!!! Even the company that my wife has had for oxygen for years said we have to pay for it ourselves because you man I won't. Try to get an in-network and they gave me three bogus phone numbers. Not being able to understand the Filipino representatives and then when they give you one from the US they're mean and nasty.

Stay away from Humana and their Medicare Advantage plans. They lie and cheat to keep the stock holder and CEO’s full of cash at the consumers expense. I checked with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid’s website b4 enrolling with them. I checked my doctors and my meds. All were covered. The first time I go to refill my Testosterone Cyp. but they wouldn’t cover it. A med I’ve been taking for years bc of lost, hair and bone. Specifically bc I’ve had 8 back procedures and need it for bone growth. They are the worse. So stay away and boycott them so we the ppl can put these scum bags out of business.

All promises no service

Promised the moon when I bought the most expensive optical & dental policy Humana offers - then they refused to pay for procedures clearly included under the terms. I am out thousands of dollars and I have cancelled the policy and filed a complaint with the Florida Dept of Health. Huge ripoff and mistake to deal with them at all. Plus their so-called customer service is horrible. Never again.

Humana phuone fools

Humana required that I use their specialty pharmce to supply my Prolia infusion or=r injection. I called to follow up and was told that they shipped my Prolia to the wrong place and that I should arrange to have it transported to the right location which was the doctor who prescribed it. I stared trying to locate it and the place they said they shipped it never got it. The idiots at Humana confused it with another medication that the shippe3d to another doctor who was also not where they said they had shipped it. In fact 5he idiot had not yet shipped my Prolia anywhere.`

Humana could improve the service they provide to me by putting a block on my insurance so that anyone who checks to verify I am a member sees I am not. They can further use my insurance and work with University of Miami Hospital for their mutual profit using my insurance . They both are garbage and hot having care is better then coverage from Humana and dealing with the scum that are just like themUM. The filth deserve eachother

Humana is one of the most deceptive insurance companies I have encountered. They make it sound very good with seemingly lots of advantages to sign up. But they won't pay normal amounts to doctors and similar which leaves you paying a lot more than expected. I made a serious mistake signing up for Humana this year but will be changing as soon as possible.

Beware the "Kickback" Trap

Beware the "Kickback" Trap – Not Ideal for Retirees. Don't let the $80–$90 monthly credit fool you. While this Humana policy sounds like a win for a healthy Gen-Z'er, the math doesn't add up for retirees. You’re looking at $300 co-pays for specialists and a "use it or lose it" $1,500 dental plan that only covers pulling and filling teeth. If you need actual restorative dental work or see specialists frequently, this plan is a poor fit. Keep your Medicare away from this one and find a policy that actually covers retiree needs. Try United Healthcare.

The HMO "Referral Trap" Scam

Humana HMO is a predatory system designed to scam people. They use "referral tricks" to avoid paying for medical services you actually need.

Here is how their scam works: They let you go to your appointments for weeks without saying a word. Their customer service is terrible, they hide behind phone lines and don't have walk-in offices because they are scam artists who don't want to get touched. They intentionally stay silent while the bill racks up, and then they suddenly deny the claims for "missing referrals" that they never asked for in the first place.

I was stuck with a $1,000 bill for physical therapy because Humana and the provider didn't communicate for nearly a month. They wait until you are already in the hole before they tell you they aren't paying. If you are on an HMO plan, you aren't "insured", you are being set up to fail. This company is greedy, reckless, and has no respect for their customers. Stay away and go with Original Medicare so you don't have to deal with these cowards and their gatekeeper games.
