Great phone manufacturer

I've had 3 HTC smartphones down the years and recently bought the HTC 10.
Really happy with the devices they build and the customer service I've had. I would wholeheartedly recommend a HTC phone to anyone. The build quality is always fantastic and the software if amongst the best out there for Android.

Stay away from HTC10!!!! Unexistent customer care

I've ordered HTC10 3 weeks ago, and still waiting. I've made ANY possible attempt to contact them:

- The tracking URL shows some cryptic error like: "Parcel query error"
- Contacted the shipment company: being told to contact HTC directly
- Opened 4 ticket (over the weeks): all of them where marked as solved in a matter of ours, with NO response at all
- Sent email to customer service: no response
- Tried phone assistance: line dropped three time in a row and when I finally had the chance to speak with somebody they did not solve the problem or gave me informations wehatsoever.
- Oh, live chat. I'v tried that too: they asked me to arrange a phone call in 48h. I have to admit, I've refused it.

Uh, I've also cancelled the order, but have no idea if they actually cancelled it or I just wasted 569£.

3 repairs, but not all great

Used HTC or their repair company 3 times in recent years, 1st time, all good.
2nd time, they lost my device and eventually replaced it. But took months.
3rd time, all good again.

All in all the phones are good, and the service I'd say about 75%
Easy to get in touch with them, and the repair process quite straight forward.

Would be better if they took more care in the movement of customers devices though.

HTC Vive preorder disaster

Where do I start?
I'm based in the UK.
I preordered the HTC vive and received my email 6 minutes after the preorders started.

All went well and I was excited.
I preordered on my debit card and thought that was that.

My bank then sends me out a new card well before the expiry date.

I phone HTC to change my billing info as there is nowhere to do it online.
HTC customer service In the UK have no clue about the HTC vive, instead I have to request a callback from another country.
Fair enough, I thought, so I waited and the next day I received a phone call.

I was asked a lot of security questions and finally told I could change my billing details.

I was then requested by HTC to give them my PAYPAL PASSWORD over the phone so they could put the new billing information on my order.
This idea I wasn't keen on, but I really didn't want to lose my place in the preorder queue so I did.

The woman from the HTC vive department tried my PayPal and told me everything was fine and that was that.

Later that day I get an email from HTC saying my wave 1 vive preorder had been cancelled

I then phone up HTC again to ask for a phone call back from the vive department.

They phoned me back later that day and tell me my order has been cancelled (no explanation why) but if I make another one I won't lose my position in the queue. They'll take my new order and put it in the same place in the queue where my old order was (wave 1 April)

Great I thought, a bit of a faff, seeing that It seems I spent 40 mins on the phone the day before giving my sensitive PayPal passwords out to HTC for absolutely no reason, but if that's what it takes....

I make my new order, and I get my email saying delivery in May?!?
So I phone HTC again, request another phone back from the allusive vive department.

A few days ago I get a phone call from HTC vive department telling me they will 'try' to pass my info on to the right department who 'might' be able to move my order up the queue but can't guarantee anything! This is after they promised me it wouldn't be a problem to move my order up the queue the day before.
I was assured this would happen and it hasn't.

This is a disgrace.
I've been LIED TO about having my new order moved up the queue,
I've had my preorder CANCELLED without my permission, I've had to give details such as my PayPal password out over the phone to HTC, which is something they should NEVER ask for and I'm still in the same position as if I've just preordered yesterday.

I have never felt so cheated and screwed over in my life.

To add insult to injury, at this point I realise I have ran up quite a phone bill phoning these expensive 0845 HTC numbers.

I'm off to change my PayPal password and make sure I've not had my bank account screwed over!

Avoid HTC like the plague.
It's better to cancel your vive order and know where you stand than just sit them wondering what's happening all the time. Every time you phone HTC you get a different answer.
You can't phone the vive department directly and the staff haven't had the training or have the methods of giving customers the basic level of servie they are entitled to.

If you want a vive I'd recommend just waiting until they come out in the shops.
HTC are inept on so many levels, it's not worth the emotional distress and uncertainty.

1 month, 10 phone calls and many emails later and I'm still none the wiser.

Avoid!

Great phone, terrible repair service. (HTC One M8)

After using a tricky and slow online chat I eventually managed to arrange for my phone to go in under their 2 year warranty. It took just over a week from sending my phone to receiving a refurbished phone back. However the phone seems to fit very poorly inside the metal backing and it is very uneven and protrudes out because of this. The silver strip at the top and bottom seems to be bubbling away from the phone and can be pressed in and out. My old mobile was an IPhone and HTC doesn't come anywhere near Apple for customer service however, I prefer HTC phones.

problems

I purchase my mobile handset HTC 826 on dated 19-06-2015 that was physical damage. And that device changed on 03-07-2015. But with new mobile I faced the battery charging problem and for this issue I submit my handset 3 times in service center. But still the problem is same. Again I raised the query on phone with customer care on dated 16-10-2015. They given me the ticket no. to track the result. but whenever I called again they are not responding to me. I am very disappoint with HTC service. Please help me.

Awful company!

I had the purple tinge on my HTC ONE (M7). Although this appears to be a known manufacturing fault, HTC want to charge me for repairing it. I will now go off any buy a Samsung, Sony or an Iphone rather than give them money for repair that should not have been necessary. Will never buy a device from HTC again. You have been warned!

Excellent service UK

A couple years back my second hand Sensation died, a quick look on the internet and I found their service centre. Phone was collected a couple days later and returned after a week in good order. Very pleased with the service.

After months of calling, emaing and sending the phone to the repair centre only to be told if was now out of warrenty even though I had done as requested by taking photos of the phone in a perfect condition before dispatching at my end, I have given up and will not buy a HTC phone again.

Avoid at all costs!!

The screen on my son's M8 developed a fault after 8 months so I sent it to HTC for repair under warranty. It took three weeks before we heard anything and I was shocked when they said the mobile was liquid damaged due to pressure and would cost £151 to repair. I was furious and spent ages on the phone getting absolutely nowhere with what passes for customer service. They wouldn't budge so I paid for the mobile to be returned unrepaired. I complained via email but they don't care. It appears putting your phone in your trouser pocket is out of the question, like most guys my son doesn't have a handbag! Our gadget insurance replaced the phone without quibbling, I wish I had gone to them first. I will never have an HTC product again. They are a dreadful company.

Purveyors of defective product - which they then disavow AVOID AVOID AVOID

Just contacted HTC re a purple tint problem on my M7 camera. It is known to be caused by the HTC Zoe app burning out the HTC camera,, Unfortunately HTC refuse to do anything as the phone is one month out of warranty.

I can't tell you how poor their customer service was.

Simply put. Do not buy a phone from this company. Stick with Apple or Samsung.

Same thing, purple tint, phone can not charge...HTC refuses taking responsibility.

Switched over to HTC from iPhone...Boy, have I ever brought that onto myself! So there are lots of people having the same issue with HTC phones, purple tint and phone can not charge unless turned off... Fortunately or unfortunately, I am one of them, lol...sigh

So if you are considering HTC? look harder! Either find another hardware manufacturer or a "good" insurance company for your phone... Because, chances are, your phone will break down and HTC tech support will mingle with you for hours then blame the faulty hardware on you!! Similar price tag on the phone as iPhone, but I don't think the hardware inside are in the same league...

Never again, HTC! I wish you best of luck in your shady business practice. And good bye forever! *Chunk my phone into a recycle bin*

Beyond terrible.

They have had my phone in and out of repair for over 4 months. You don't have to search particularly long to find hundreds of other consumers in the same position of me. Can't tell you how much I wish I'd stuck with apple.

Worst company I have ever dealt with

I contacted HTC when my phone stopped working 7 months after purchase I asked them if it would be covered by the warranty they said yes probably if it is in good condition so I arranged to have it picked up, 5 days after they picked it up they emailed a quote of £161.79 saying that the phone is not faulty it is damaged and I would have to pay, no explanation of how its damaged or my fault so I questioned this they contacted me 3 days later saying it wasn't under warranty as it had been water damaged, I was very confused as I know it has not been water damaged but they sent me a picture of an test they had done to prove otherwise this picture meant nothing to me as I don't work for the company so I don't know how they test it etc, I explained that when the phone stopped charging it has been on charge during the night in the morning when I picked it up it was extremely hot and smelt of burning this is the obvious reason why it wasn't charging as it didn't change after than so maybe a drop of water got in the phone by that must of been all its just show how temperamental HTC phones are I obviously couldn't not prove it had not Incured any water damaged so I didn't really have much choice but to pay this ridiculous bill as to even send me the phone back unrepaired they want £27 to cover the diagnostic fee! So I attempted to pay the bill via the link they provided it didn't work and several devices so I emailed them they game me there bank details and said I had to provide proof I had paid through a bank statement I could my do this as my statements only come through ever 3 months and I work all day during the week so j couldn't just nip in as the suggested so just rang to pay over the phone, apparently they don't train there staff adequately enough to be able to handle taking payment over the phone! Eventually after trying the link at least 50 times it went through. The whole communications process with HTC has been appalling they take 1-2 days to reply to an email, they operatives on the phone are less than adequate, all this problem for a mere mediocre phone! I would strongly recommend people to not use this company and I can guarantee I will never be buying another HTC I will defiantly return to using an iPhone as I have never had a problem with them.

repair centre damage

Phone would not boot up/charge/factory reset. Repair centre fix lasted 1 week after they had it 3 weeks in Jan 2015. Then sent it back again, they had it 2 weeks and returned it damaged. The case is cracked all over and the back won't fit properly! appalling service. 15GBCW09ENA000642

Worst customer service ever!

Hi there,

I am having an HTC ONE M7 for more than year now.
Phone is amazing, but then it comes to the company itself, there is nothing good to say.

Phone had a typical problem, faulty camera processor, as a result I had purplt tint on my photos.
I've send it to the repairs, after 2 weeks I received back phone which now having green tint, and do not see SIM card 20 hours out of 24.

On top of this it's restarting around 8-10 times each hour, so you cannot use it at all, and after battery just goes off.

I've send phone for repair works one more time, and again after 2 weeks I have received phone with absolutely same problems.

No work been done, they cannot even guarantee work of the product for warranty period.
And everything what customer service can do is to say "Sorry, we can arrange one more collection, please waste for us 2 more weeks or just go and buy new phone"

Well done HTC, from one of the best companies went to worst one.
Never will recomend it, never will buy.

For that many there is lost of better alternatives on the market.
