Absolutely disgraceful hounslow council they didn’t care about people who struggling to pay council tax they only good at is threatening people to take to court staff are rubbish don't know how to talk to customers properly.

“The council has staff who don’t have a clue about any of there tenants likes to beach data housing officer likes to bend the book”

Note they don’t care about people with mobility issues unless your in a wheelchair

I have been ufortunate enough to deal with Hounslow Business Rate. This is why I am writing this extremely negative review:

1- Their recorded message ( 02085835708) says that if you want to review your online Business Rate account go to Gov UK, I have been trying for 5 years to make our business rate process easier but in vain. The staff in May 2024 that online service for business rate never existed. Why? No one knows and one can answer. Since it’s a council there is no competition so these incompetents who run it will never ever know how bad they are running it without our complaints.

2- responses time is awful. Some of the emails that we sent Hounslow business rate took between six months to 18 months to respond. When they respond, they say
sorry. Apology is accepted if you are stuck intraffic and turned up 15 minutes late on a meeting.

3- no complaint procedures at Hounslow business rate. If you want to complain about (1&2 points above) you send another email which gets answered after a few months or they deny receiving this email or claim to have responded via post.
Why would our respond by post to an email I sent electronically????

Unfortunatel, if you run a businessin in Hounslow, you got no choice but to deal with this useless, inefficient organisation.

I had a job share role at Children services within Social Services (July 2022)
There were staff issues surrounding absenteeism, bullying and harassing, an extremely incompetent Team Manager and reluctance from the Head of Business Support Services to take responsibility for the issues within the team, even with evidence presented. The Head worked from home, only attending office once a month after having been at the Council for many years, she was extremely complacent.
There were far too many Assistant Team Managers and inefficiencies. The team were not managed so there were many issues not addressed which impacted the services to end users. The Managers responsible were not the right people, to say the least, for such a valuable service. Restructure and streamlining to remove the complacent Team Manager and Head of Business Support Services would be the best start. Due to the ongoing staff issues and infighting not being addressed I decided to take another job offer which proved to be the best decision for me.

It's very excellent place for spend weekend and enjoy for cinema in Hounslow it's really enjoyable for me .it's make my day

My experience with Hounslow Council was a masterclass in frustration and disappointment. From convoluted procedures to woeful customer service, every interaction with this local authority left me questioning why I ever chose to reside in this area. If you value your sanity and peace of mind, I would strongly advise looking elsewhere for local governance. Hounslow Council, you have truly outdone yourselves in the art of incompetence.

I need to share this in the interest of general public

Background:

According to the Hounslow Council's website and also confirmed by their staff over the phone at 11 am 16 April 2024, I can dispose household rubbish, using trade waste gate, once a year using a Van through free of Charge if I am a council tax payer, which I am. This is my first time in 20 years that I have disposed waste.

Incident:

(1) But when I reached at Gate No. 3, Spacwaye Recycling Centre, Feltham ( at 10: 15 am, 16/04/2024) the staff charged me £41, and was abusive towards me, when I challenged that I don't have to pay. the person on the reception got aggressive and abusive. He then said " just pay man". I told him not to call me man, he started laughing then he intentionally called me a woman. Then sarcastically asked me "you a woman,". That's when the other staff standing behind receptionist started laughing. The council staff said I am laughable, and stupid and mocked me by using different pronouns of woman and man with an intention to humiliate me. I believe this is violation of my rights under Gender Recognition ACT and also a hate crime. As I am also of Asian origin and ethnic background. They called me names like stupid. Then they gathered at least 4 or 5 people and started shouting at me and telling me to shut up.

(2) when they forced me to pay, staff refused to give me receipt. When I insisted staff gave me a receipt to sign, which had someone else's van number on it , not mine and the amount was half of what I paid. I refused to sign. I brough that fake receipt with me. I believe this is deception and fraud.

This was not just violation of my rights under the Gender Recognition law, harassment, and also deception by fake receipt and fraud but also discrimination against me ( based on gender and/or ethnicity) by making me pay the charges I was not supposed to pay.

3) I called the police and reported the violation of my rights under the Gender Recognition law, harassment, and discrimination, and also deception by fake receipt and fraud, reference No. CAD 2109/16Apr24. The officer who, Shoulder No. 2273WA, attended the seen
I was discriminated against, because of the gender bias, and charged for a service I was entitle to free of charge ( as per Council's own website), forced to pay as a Hounslow Council Resident and tax payer, irrespective of the fact whether me personally have changed gender or not, I was still mocked for my gender, harassed and laughed and discriminated against.

If public Institutions like Hounslow Council are committing these offenses themselves, how can they protect the citizens and residents from it?

I think this story needs to be shared for awareness and in the interest of public and specially to protect people who change their gender.

I WILL NEVER VOTE for this poor service council!!! Using PCN to fund they budget !!!! And when this council send you a letter they don't even bother to check with DVLA where your car is registered so they can take more money from you !!! Scammers!!!

Care in the community staff who are hopeless!!!!!

I recently received a PCN from Hounslow Borough Council, Named Restriction 52M in relation to Hartington Road Chiswick. Apparently HBC feel it is their right to position CCTV to entrap drivers driving or transiting through this road, drivers that would otherwise wait for 10 to 15 minutes in a ques burning fuel polluting the environment while this Hartington Road remains empty of traffic or pedestrians. I pay road tax and insurance to drive my car, why should I be subjected to an additional road tax!! which has netted £Millions for HBC. It's a disgrace, their is no consistency from one local council to another. HBC appear to tax drivers at will, while others for example (Ashford) under Spelthorne totally ignore residents complaints about parking restrictions speeding drivers etc. All these councils are quick to contact residents when it's time to vote, but less so when complaints are made. Contacting the councils is almost impossible, and when possible they are condescending and rude!! they clearly forget who pays their wages....

I don't think "they" want to help in any way shape or form,no matter what your need might be.
The website shows useful phone numbers and beautiful policies etc of what their peaceful and loving intentions are towards the general helpless and vulnerable people but when you actually call you are being deterred from calling back because they do lie a lot and rarely help those they pretend that they help.
I am starting to believe that the only ones benefiting from their existence are the Hounslow Council Employees who get paid.

Majority of staff seem to be quite a nasty, evil and corrupt bunch in hounslow house, rude, dismissive, condescending, prejudiced, incompetent and full of contradictions.
And in the midst of all the aforementioned they'd rather find amusement in giving people the run around instead of easily just helping those that need it. Of course this is all behind fake smiles and fake "polite" condescending tones.
This might be easier to accept if it were just my personal experience, yet unfortunately as I talk to other people in hounslow and read through all the reviews here on trust pilot 99.9% of the feedback on hounslow council is aligned with the opening statement of this review. In general the staff here at hounslow house/council willingly practice a shameless code of conduct where helping the people of the borough is not at the forefront as long as they can find or make up an excuse for it not to be, as they will be paid regardless.
This place is a disaster that needs to be investigated and rectified.

Woolveridge who recently sadly died was a resident of Danehurst sheltered housing scheme for many years. The undertakers asked me to provide proof she was a resident,??? that came from the council, the council wanted this information, also there has been no message of condolence from them, the council stinks.

Moved into a new property, no bin in the property. Went a purchased a brand new bin from local garden centre. Whilst waiting for the council to arrange a new bin for our property. Refuse waste operatives have refused to collect our household waste for two months now as it hasn't got a marking on the bin saying household council. At what point would you think to yourself that you are doing any good by not collecting household waste. You as our council are legally duty bound to collect waste. This is now an environmental issue.There will always be an excuse or an online form to complete simply because you do not provide what its is you say you actually do as a council.No one cares anymore.

This council got a court judgment against my mother-in-law for some alleged traffic violation, despite the fact that she had been dead for four months. They apparently made no attempt to determine whether she was still alive before going to court, and the first her family knew about it was when we checked on her house and found a "notice of intention to remove property" from a bailiff. I complained to the council asking for an urgent response - over a week later, I received a letter with an illegible signature stating, "You have claimed (your mother-in-law) has passed away; however you have neglected to provide any documentation in support of your claim." Who thinks this is an appropriate thing to say to a bereaved family member?! To top it off, they didn't provide an address to send the death certificate to, despite threatening dire consequences if I didn't send it. So I've had to send it to the general customer service address and hope for the best. Glad I don't live in Hounslow!

By far the worst council around London!!! Totally incompetent, shameless, unqualified, rude staff.Bills taking ages to be sent out, online service barely working, no apologies at all. Then they scream for their money and send bailiffs around without owning up to their failures. Try to complain and they will still blame you. Absolute shambles. Moving out of the borough because of this appalling council.
