B&B Basel / Switzerland

Message : Good morning sir, madam,

I wish to complain in the strongest terms about B&B hotel Basel.We stayed in room 1107.
We were very dissapointed in our stay at B&B Basel.
The tv didn’t work and the receptionist mentioned that the remote control was broken. We received a other remote control. The remote control didn’t work either. Secondly, the temperature in the room was very warm and the climate control was out of service.

In the third place the breakfast in the morning was below standard for 17 CHF per person. We had breakfast at 8:00 in the morning and there was no cheese, no boiled eggs, no fresh bread and also other people were complaining there were little to none fresh options for breakfast. The employee mentioned that they get new supplies in a few days. I think for this amount of money it is unacceptable

We had already paid for the room in advance during the booking. We would like to request a refund for our stay and the breakfast costs as this was well below standards.

We apologise that you did not have a nice stay with us.

- The fact that the TV or the remote control did not work could have been remedied by changing the batteries if you had informed us the second time the remote control did not work.

- Our air conditioners work in all rooms but are not the air conditioners you may be familiar with from other countries.

- We always serve a full breakfast. We had two or three different types of bread rolls and fresh toast and fresh scrambled eggs.
Cheese was missing. However, we would have received a delivery on Monday which did not arrive and we apologise for this.

Unfortunately we cannot offer a refund.

We hope that you will have a different and enjoyable experience on your next visit.

Avoid this hotel

I find it deeply troubling and unacceptable that after my experience at your hotel you still feel comfortable hiding behind the excuse that “I chose a non refundable rate”. At 2am my boyfriend and I still could not sleep due to adjacent room’s snoring and another guest banging on the wall - also because of the noise. We then went on the terrace for a break from the noise to find that we had been locked out. To avoid spending the night out in the cold we had to perilously climb down the railing to the pool area (all those doors were also locked and unstaffed); we then had to navigate a pitch black alley with an uneven path barefoot. We eventually found our way around the streets and were let back into our room at 3am.

It is also very generous of you to consider the room we were given as an “upgrade” given that it wraps around your elevator shaft. This means that on top on being locked out in the cold and not being able to sleep at night, we were also waken up at the break of dawn by every movement of the elevator.

I expect you to reconsider your approval process for our voucher with your quality control department and to forward them this email. I also expect to reach a reasonable solution. I paid for 2 nights in your hotel and 1 was already a nightmare.

If you cannot give me a full refund of the 2 nights I at least expect a 2 night voucher as an opportunity for you to change my mind. If not you can expect future clients to read this one star review on your already 2.2/5 rated Trustpilot page.

We booked a double room for 2 adults.

We booked a double room for 2 adults.
When we arrived, it was 1 adult an 2 children under 13 instead. The hotel charged me an extra 25 euro for a triple room and i PAID it happily. We went sightseeing and came back, they refused to give us triple room or an extra bed. They staff accused me of lying, we were forced to leave because they did not want to return the money i paid for the extra bed and wanted us to sleep on 1 bed. Which will be fine, but dont charge for an extra bed then. The staff was rude, they could not care less about reviews or about us, we paid for 3 people and they tried to rip us off.
They refused to give us our money back.
Disgusting place, avoid!!!

I posted a review re non entry to B&B…

I posted a review re non entry to B&B hotel Poiters where the entry code they sent me did not allow us access to the hotel. The 24 hour intercom was not answered and there was no contact tele for the hotel we were booked into.
The hotel sent me a request to remove my post they say there was no calls recorded on the night of my booking, this is typical of their inefficiency the intercom at the entry of the hotel is a bell service to call them and they answer. We rang the bell for over 1 hour with nobody on the other end and nobody answered our ringing of this intercom . There was no other form of comunication for us to contact the hotel or the 24 hour support that did not answer

Cancelled flight, apathetic hotel

Our flight was cancelled, so we called the hotel to ask them if they could refund us the one night.
They refused the refund, and on top of that, they have cancelled our booking, so that they could rent out the room to other people.
Will stay away from booking with them in the future.

Bad experience

The main light buld wasn’t working, but was fixed after we complained 4 times about the issue(on the 3rd day). The wc in the reception is locked in the evening and you have to go to your room to use a wc and that is not good when you sit and enjoy the evening together with other people. The bread in the breakfest buffet is not heated, so it is very dry.
Overall, we will never use this hotel again.

If you want the worst hotel, pick this

Worst hotel ever. We ordered for 5 adults and 1 child. When we arrived at the hotel in Nürnberg they gave us 1 double room and one triple. They expected that the child would sleep on the floor. The Walls are very thin so you can hest everything.

Told me they were dog friendly but no!

Told me they were dog friendly. Sold me a room with dog supplement and breakfast. Then when I came down for breakfast, told me dogs not allowed in breakfast area. Despite the breakfast area being in the hallway where dogs and guests walk through anyway. Strange, rude, cruel weird hotel chain. Avoid!.

This charming B&B in Booth Bay Harbor Maine, was the first stop on our recent Maine vacation. From the moment we arrived until our departure we were so happy we had selected the Harbour Towne Inn.
The exterior of this B&B was exactly as advertised charming and beautiful. We were warmly greeted by our host, Stefanie McElman, and shown to our room on the first floor. She could not have been more helpful and engaging.
Our room, which was spacious and very comfortable, opened to a porch with a great view of Booth Bay Harbor. We had a king bed, ample room to hang and store our belongings and a fully equipped kitchen. Parking, which can be difficult in Booth Bay, was convenient and on the property.
The breakfast was awesome! More than enough food. And the other guests were entirely engaging.
This B&B is great and should we return to Maine, it will definitely be one of our stops.
Also, don’t miss a great restaurant in the center of Booth Bar Harbor, The Mine Oyster Raw Bar & Gathering Place. It is on a pier overlooking the Bay. Our lobsters were great and our waiter, whose name is “Jersey” was a real asset to the enjoyment of our meal.

Bed wetting sheets on all beds

The room as such was fine and looked like it had been renovated recently.

However... The beds made noises similar to plastic/rubber rubbing against something each time we moved during the night, and the bed felt enclosed. Turned out next morning there were bed wetting sheets on all matresses (matress, wet bed sheet, thin linnen sheet; not even a matress topper between the two sheets). Honestly, we were left with the feeling of having stayed at a cheap and possibly not so clean motel.

No breakfast due to renovation.

Fined 150 euros for fictional damage

The hotel was clean and functional and well located in central Ghent however our experience was ruined by one of the staff who upon finding out we had taken our bicycles into our room, very rudely told us we had to go to reception for a full dressing down. When we did she told us she was going to fine us 150 euros each for some damage which she had clearly just made up. Ok we shouldn't have taken our bikes into our room but we hadn't damaged anything. In my opinion this was a completely over the top reaction which spoiled our visit

nicht empfehlenswert in Aalen

I was booked into the smallest room in the hote, despite an early booking for 3 days and the hotel was mostly empty. The table was so small that my laptop barely fit and it was impossible to work. Breakfast was lousy two of the days, buns fridge-cold inside and the boiled eggs were cold or none existent two of the days (they had to order more they said, no idea why they could not keep the stock filled up, it was a tuesday). The answer was quite snappy. The two stars are for a friendly cleaning service and one nice garcon the first morning.

B&B Barcelona:
The room smelly as if a dead body lays under the bed..
The breakfast absolutely lousy, plus knifes, spoons, trays, microwave, juice machine filthy and broken. Staff spoke to us like school teachers giving orders and even shouted and when shouting back : " dont shout at me! " even grabbed me by the wrists and pushed me back when I complained about the poor condition of the facilities... we are speechless !

A completely inflexible organisation

A completely inflexible organisation. Due to travel issues I was unable able to reach the original booked hotel so booked another hotel in the same chain for the same dates but more money. Put a request into support to cancel the original booking but now over a week later still no response. Rang the original hotel but they refused to cancel he booking as it was within 14 days and have charged even though I had booked a partner hotel. The partner hotel was happy for a cancellation. I have subsequently cancelled the 2nd hotel and will stay with another chain. I'll never book this chain again as they have no flexibility for customers and support services are non existent. They are a throw back to the rigid policies of the 1980s.
Absolutely appalling.

And amazing hotel with efficient and thoroughly welcoming staff; my room was very comfortable the shower was heavenly and the mattress divine!

Breakfast at €10.50 is very reasonable and thoroughly enjoyable; overall my experience at this hotel has been superlative!

Booked the hotel in Calais for 1 night

Booked the hotel in Calais for 1 night, i was qouted 78 euros and they took 88 euros out of my account the next day they took another 80 euros out of my account, the room was tiny, toilet was self flushing all night, the breakfats was pathetic, have emailed on numerous occasion to complain and get my money refunded but no one answers me, atroucious customer service, will open a claim with my card company to get my money back and will never us them again!!!!!!!!!!!!
