The Coat Rack Saga
Found a freestanding coat rack at my local Sheffield St James Retail Park store but it was sold. I then called 10 stores every day for over a week to try to locate one (don't trust the internet) . Every member of staff I spoke to was courteous, helpful and friendly and even shared a laugh about my quest. I have finally found the item at the Newark store and Adam was happy to put it on hold until I could travel across the next day. Excellent customer service. Well done Homesense for recruiting such lovely staff, a massive thank you to all the staff I have bothered you are wonderful. :-)

Poor customer service at Trostre…
Poor customer service at Trostre Llanelli Homesense. Plenty of staff around chatting but only 2 serving! Floor manager spoken to but she didn't seem concerned that there was a long queue at checkout. Hollow apology given! Whatever has happened to 'the customer comes first'!!

HomeSense - Tunbridge Wells
Extremely unpleasant experience and sirly accusatory manager Stuart.
My wife bought one of those glass Father Christmas snow cloud balls recently.
My daughter tipped it over on the dining room table while reaching for something.
To my horror it exploded in a shower of glass.
Upon inspecting I discovered the glass was only wafer thin and I would be shocked if it passed regulations.
Fortumately my daughter was unharmed but could and probably has ended worse in other peoples' experiences.
When returning to the shop Stuart immediately set about finding whatever reason he could to not only push blame on us but not even acknowledge the dangerous nature of the product.
His assessment - or basic accusation - was that what I was telling him was a lie and we must have misused or mistreated the product.
For your information Stuart, you were wrong. The main reason we came back at all was primarily to make HomeSense aware of this dangerous product and make sure they would acknowledge what had happened.
Instead I felt interrogated and accused of wrong doing - essentially called a liar.
Well to anyone shopping at HomeSense, please keep in mind that this must be some kind of company policy to deny any wrongdoing on their part in all instances upon returning or notifying them of a faulty product.
Congratulations HomeSense for such an aggressive and nasty culture you have there. I will at least make good on my promise of telling family and friends to avoid shopping there in the future
And to anyone who happens upon reading this and remembers, be careful with these snow ball Christmas balls that they sell. It would be all too easy for you or your children to injure yourself.

Poor working conditions/ management
It seems as horrendous to be an employee for this company as it is to shop there. My daughter started working there on an 8 hour contract for her first job. Needless to say after a few weeks she was being put on a 20hr contract! She is at college full time and the manageress simply said to her 'if you can't do it just quit'. I myself have worked in management for over 20 years and can't believe the horror stories that come out of this place. At least my daughter has learnt a good lesson in how not to treat colleagues. If anyone from head office read these reviews I would be happy to discuss further in writing

Double discounted not a true discount.
Wanted to buy a discounted mirror that looked like it had been dragged aggressively across the dirty floor because it had potential if you put a lot of work into it. Is it obviously been discounted for a while because the price was no longer visible. I brought it to the counter to check what the price was and it was on its second markdown. Originally it was 39.99. it's second markdown was $34.99. this is something that a second hand store would have just thrown away. Absolutely not paying that kind of money for what essentially looks like a piece of trash to most people. Now this is something that will end up in a landfill.
You guys are way too expensive especially for something that's broken.

Clearly in support of genocide and death to innocent lives. A whole section designated to just blue and white israeli colours! Absolutely disgusting and abhorrent. Your brand should be ashamed of itself
I Will no longer be shopping here. Simple as!
Worst Customer Service I've ever…
Worst Customer Service I've ever experienced!!! Totally lacking in experience, training and respect. A retail business that doesn't understand retail, the customer and it's own products. NEVER AGAIN!!!

Happy with HomeSense 🥰
I`ve called in to the Home Sense branch at Broughton, Chester a few times over the years. They sell many items for the home and garden.
I`ve purchased bed throws, drinking glasses, Christmas food, photo frames etc. All were of good quality and a fair price.
They have some quirky stuff there too, if you are looking for something unusual.
The store is well lit, has a lift, is easy to navigate and plenty of free parking outside. I will definitely be going there again this Christmas, especially if you are looking for that perfect gift. It`s the sort of store you can browse around for a long time. So much to look at and I have never come out of there empty handed, even when I had NO intention of buying!... 🛍️ 🎁

TO HOMESENSE MANAGERS!!!!!!!
I hope this review will be considered for the better of a loyal customer who loves HomeSense. It's been happening for months now. I like a particular chocolate called Côte D’or that doesn't sell in the UK. The expiry date is due in 3 Months. I asked them to consider that and at least sell items with a more extended expiry date, as the taste shows. And the answer was buy it or leave it. It also said you could sell until one day before delivery. This is nonsense, and if I want to move this further, I can hire a lawyer. Kindly forward my message to the owner. This shouldn't be a quality standard!

Bought an expensive duvet 8 months ago…
Bought an expensive duvet 8 months ago for my 12 year old, and now all the filling is bunched up, it's not been washed so it is not anything I have done, and when I went to return with my bank statement, i was rudley dismissed by the store manager. The online customer service advised for me to go into the store with a bank statement, as who would keep the receipt unless you anticipate this to happen. I travelled 40 minutes to the store as per customer service suggestion. After the store visit i contacted the online customer service again and they then dismissed me also, even though it is a defected product. They make you feel so small and as if I am doing something wrong. So upsetting and degrading.

The woman working in the rug section was helpful, kind, hardworking, and friendly. She helped me find three rugs and even delivered them to my car. She was great and we love the rugs!

So rude and unprofessional store manager Sarah, not sure if it’s her real name, asked her three times before she told me her name,

Forget about refunds for faulty items
Bought a glass teapot. The person at the till didn’t even offer to wrap it for safer transportation, had to ask them to put it in something. When I got home and took it out of the poorly fitting bubble wrap, the corner of the glass was broken, making the teapot useless. Took it back to Homesense the same day, and they refused to refund despite the item being clearly faulty - the glass at the point of breakage was incredibly thin.

2 A.R.T
2 A.R.T. nightstands.
The price was a great sale. Sadly there were scratches and noticeable blemishes and an obvious attempt to cover-up it up. There were two tagged ‘sold’ in perfect condition.
The mgr would not reduce the price for the damaged nightstands.
Well lucky me ..the same nightstands came into stock again..delighted with the price & condition. Mgrs need to be informed that this not a consignment store and price accordingly for damages.

Inferior merchandise and rude manager
I bought a sunflower all wreath last Saturday and within two days the flowers began falling off. I put them back on but each day more and more flowers fell off. After 3 days I took it down and returned it to the Stony Brook store the Friday after I bought it, 6 days later. The manager said we can't take it back because it's been used and not cannot be sold. She also accused me of trying to glue the flowers which never occurred to me. After having to plead to return it she said she would do a one time courtesy of giving store credit. Their products are inferior and quite frankly junk! Save your money, shop Michael's or Amazon.

Bought a sofa from the store in…
We bought a sofa from the store in Thurrock. Being a large item we could not take it on the day so asked the staff to keep the sofa until we booked a slot with Anyvan as recommended by Home Sense. I was told by the sales assistant that the sofa will be held in storage and wrapped up so it would not get damaged. Unfortunately when the sofa was delivered there was no cover to protect it and on top of that there is a cut on the underside of the sofa. Plus when I bought the goods the sales assistant was in such a hurry she could not wait to finish the sale and I found her not very polite. I doubt if I will ever shop there again. No customer service. Those days are gone!!

Where do you get these security guards from?
Went in to get some new cookware with my mum, only to then have eagle eyes glued to me and my mother and being given rude and invasive looks and treatment by the security guard in the shop.....doesn't make you want to shop there really

I used to shop here all the time but in the last couple of months, all the stuff I buy from there either breaks really easily or it’s just cheap quality! Also, take down the Halloween stuff! We are only in August! Ut has been up since July! For God’s sake! Get your priorities right!!
